You're right, that's why I said 'to some extent'. That being said, none of Leon, or Vargas, Carutasu, Jack, or Aguero and Costagrande, or Grozer, or Leal, could've changed their federation according to the new regulations, so I still think this is a great step into the right direction with the current rules.

I wonder what could be a legal alteration of current rules preventing the process you're talking about, it's such a tricky matter tbh, and actually quite uncomfortable to discuss since this is a convo about children, basically. In real world, I find these new FIVB rules as harsh as realistically possible on this matter, and a substantial improvement.

You guys are reacting as if these children are being kidnapped to Italy or turkey🤦 certain professions have better job market, better opportunities, more money etc. so it is inevitable that people would move around the world for their best interest. It is nothing different that smart kids going abroad to study in countries with best universities. For example reputable scientist Uğur Şahin (cep and founder of BioNTech) who is born in turkey but at a very young age moved to Germany. He has studied there, get all the Academic training there thanks to the great scientific opportunities Germany provides and now he is one of the greatest and impactful Scientists representing Germany. I don't understand why would anyone have a problem with such naturalization in such a global world. If a person is born in a country who can't provide opportunities to them, scientifically, artistically, or sportive perspective, what is the problem those people moving to countries who value them, invest in them, giving them an environment they can fulfill their ultimate potential and in return they want to represent those countries in either international scientific conferences or Olympic games.

Markova is one of a generation, or even one in a century type of player. It is really pity that such a player can't compete at the International Competition so it makes sense both for turkey and Markova to consider this option which would benefit both parties. By the way, Federation president says they aren't actively trying to naturalize her but the door is open for her and they would be more than pleased if she chooses to play for turkey, which is something any federation president would want honestly.

Thanks for explanation! We call that area Sancak (flag or banner) does it have same meaning in Serbian?

By the way, I'm surprised by Eda, I thought her family had Bulgarian roots, not Serbian 🤔

Adigwe is also from their youth team, and a good chunk of the players of younger generation (like born 2002 and after) both in A1 and A2 are coming through their youth program. Just out of this year senior NT calls Fersino, Adigwe, Eze, Omoruyi, Marchesini, Frosini, Eckl, Battista are coming from their youth team + Manfredini from an affiliate (Anderlini)

Isn't adigwe from crema, omoruyi from Milano and club Italia, Marchesini from Modena, Battista from Bergamo?:what:

You mean san dona as their youth club right?

From what I know, there are talks about both of these changes (two Euro-Cups and different CL format) ongoing. But like I always mention, the CEV president and Board of Administration (or whatever its name is) are selected mostly by smaller federations, so e.g. any idea for elitist CL formula are unfortunately unrealistic from political standpoint.

That being said, there are several minor changes that should be easy to introduce. For example, I like the concept in football of Europa League (CEV Cup equivalent) winner playing in the CL the next year, and I have no problems with such concept in volleyball as well. League phase in CL instead of group stage - even with let's say two additional legs - would be clearly much more interesting than what we've been receiving in the last 25 years or so. Combining CEV and Challenge Cups with broader group of clubs represented so far in both these events now - is also a logical choice.

Like 20 years ago cev cup equivalent tournament champion was already getting a slot in CL next year right? Or am I remembering something wrong?🫣

And it's always the same roster so there's not point at keeping it hideous. It's not like that Santa is going to invest in young talents.

To a certain extent, I understand unwillingness of Santa not experimenting young talents because he already has a very young team. Turkish NT doesn't have the pressure for a generation change like many other NT had to in last years because of many retiring from their NTs (like USA, Brazil, China, Japan, Serbia etc. Turkish NT has only Eda who might be retiring soon but even she says she will stay until LA. The rest of the team could easily stay same until 2032 Brisbane Olympics.

Italian teams would only struggle financially to afford CL all years, excluded the top 4/5.

I have been asking for a change of format for a while. Not only Champions League, but also CEV Cup (with Challenge Cup merged with it or just discontinued).

SAme here! I thought merging cev and challenge cup was one of the promises of new cev president . Of course nothing has been done since he is in power😒

I’m also ok with a semi-league format; sth like 2 pools of 8 teams each. You have then at least 4 good teams in each pool and that gives you at least 12 competitive games in each pool during the group phase. Then at the end of group phase top 4 of each pool qualify to quarter final and match as 1st vs 4th , 2nd vs 3rd. This also helps get rid of the current weird knockout phase seedings. There might be complaints about the increased number of games but most Turkish & Italian teams have the roster enough to rotate against weaker opponents.

Pretty good idea indeed! Sounds quite fair as well.

In my ideal world, it would be 12 teams only. 4 Turkish+4 Italian teams. The other 4 teams are coming from qualification tournaments from polish, German, French, Romanian, Greek, Serbian Champions.

Cev should improve top level and channel other mid and upper mid teams to cev cup with a better format there as well

Ok, so bcs we had a disagreement as well, you have to be partial; it seems you were overestimated. Like me saying Imoco management is trashy (a fact) and has a worse youth program than 1 yo SL teams is the same as them talking about me wanting to get r*ped, but clearly this entire time a certain group of people here have true mental struggles putting basic principles into perspective and need to do whatever it takes to keep their fantasy world intact. If r*pe and p*dophilia are not put on a different level in a space compared to forum drama and even other personal attacks, then that means it's a space I no longer need to reside in; a clear red line.

I'm logging off eternally; enjoy your win, incels, and my last curse will be to wish for Imoco's eternal failure on the global stage from here on. Watch it happen.

Nooo🥺 you should come back! Don't leave me alone with dumb rapist incels here 😒

I agree that Derya can be better scorer and overall contributor then Saliha, Nika never really showed that she can be reliable player in club season ever since she left Novara.
Overall on paper if you count that Nika can play as solid OH giving consistent performance in all aspects, then I can see it but both her and Derya never gave consistent performance, that was my point.

And above all neither of them is go to player that carries their team with 30+ pts in game like Uzelac was, but also neither of them brings constant defensive stability that Saliha brought.
They could be great duo and I’m very interested to see them but I don’t think they are comparable to Uzelac-Saliha and how great they both worked in their own aspect during the season. We’ll have to wait and see but as of rn I wouldn’t count on them giving similar contribution, I’m open to be proven wrong on that as I like both Derya and Nika as players very much. I hope they do great tbh I just don’t see the comparison as it’s very different OH duo in terms of roles and dynamics.

This season Derya showed that she is a good defender so I don't expect any problem in that part of game since nika was also doing good defensive work surprisingly this season.

Both of them are capable of carrying their teams 30+ points. Derya did that in both Japan and Yeşilyurt while she was way younger. Nika was offensively very good in Milano. So capability is there for both, consistency is something to be proven since both had club choices making end up at bench instead of always playing in a club that would rely on them like uzelac did.

In Zeren it was mostly uzelac getting 25 and Saliha getting 10 points. In thy probably both Nika and Derya will get 15 points per game and lazareva+middles will deal the rest. Sıla sets middles a lot and their middle duo are rather attacker type than blocker MB so their game style shouldn't be relying on one player scoring 30+ points anyways. Anyways time will prove one of us right next season

It's funny, because when the Zehra-Imoco was going the whole forum agreed it was a made up rumor, but now some you use it to reinforce the Imoco is s*it narrative.

Anyway, I don't really care. So I'm done with this topic.

It is not imoco is shit narrative, we are just saying take their word with a pinch of salt instead of absolute truth as there were cases what they said and what they did were different 😂

Milano will continue with Lavarini for a third consecutive season and the same applies for Scandicci and Gaspari. Berdardi also stayed for three season in Novara and Barbolini for three season in Scandicci. Lavarini stayed for three seasons in Novara and Gaspari for four seasons in Vero Volley. Bregoli stayed for six season in Chieri... I do not see that happening in Italy so often.

I didn't remember when Ishikawa and Uzelac were transfered, but right it seems that she will not have playing time. Akimova played in Vero Volley, because she came after being 1,5 season out... She started playing at the second part of the season.. Nobody knew what her form will be and Miner is not such a good player... Her level is just the level of a decent back up setter in a good Italian team... Gelin was indeed a waste, but.... In Scandicci nobody got waste. Fraklin, Ruddins and less of the Graziani had a lot of playing time in Scandicci and just as I said before they are also stronge back up players for a top team and nothing more. None of the top teams could've thing to play with Franklin and Ruddins as starters... Ishikawa shared the court time with Lina and Herbots and all of the played almost the same palying time. Nobody stayed on the bench and all of them played a lot.

Why do you aassume Ishikawa will spend whole season on the bench? Bregoli will rotate 4 OHs depending on the opponent and each player's health/shape situation. Having 4 good ohs will prevent them having a situation like GS for example having ilkin play 100 match in a year because of all the injured players this season

How do you explain Zehra yeasterday was going to Imoco, while today goes to Fenerbahce, but tomorrows will stay in Vakif whole situation? Come on!

It's not like takling shit of Imoco is a new sport, but it looks like the case on here.

You know players can get offers from multiple clubs and can negotiate simultaneously, right?
