I wasn't justifying twins' acts (I didn't read all the news so I don't know if these are proven or still considered as accusations) ngapeth indeed physically harassed a woman in a club (I think it was in Brazil if I remember right) to me this as bad or even worse than what twins are accused of. Anyways my point was that there are clubs that don't really care players' criminal record (5 cuban male players were accused of raping a Finnish girl, some of these players found clubs to play in Turkey)

I think 16 teams are too much for such an organization, I would prefer to have 12 top teams and having round robin system. Traveling part is just a bad scheduling, it could be easily organized in a smarter way to prevent so much back-forth traveling.

Eh, I was only defending JT who is relevant to this thread/sub. I didnt make any snide remarks towards the person I replied to or made up any accusations against the club. I'm not that heavily invested with this topic so I'm just gonna let it go but I hope I made it clear why I'm not okay with his lazy argument.

the fact that you don't understand my argument doesn't make it lazy:aww: anyways done with this discussion

    why would they?

would you work an extra day without getting paid/

yeah why not if it was a fun company outing :lol:That's how I see all star games. previously in Turkey It was done as a fun organisation to interact with fans. I don't know how different it is in Chinese league

If Ngapeth still can find contracts in top clubs after so many scandals he was involved, I'm sure twins could find too

so there are pools of 8, but it's not round-robin. looks like each team plays 4 matches for a total of 16 matches per venue.

this just feels more and more like WGP.

What's the point of having a pool if not every team will play with each other. I know it was quite an intense schedule to play 15 matches as round robin but at least it was fair. With this system there will be occasions some teams will play against weaker teams twice.

Oh I heard the reason was because the contracts they (Kim, Larson, Vargas, Boskovic) signed with their clubs was to play in the league. playing in the all star would be extra money that was not specified in the contract and the organizers (of the all-star) would have to pay extra which they didn't want to do because of covid. I think Japanese women's v-league also had no foreigners in all-star.

CVA gets away with this one... for now...

So the players really dont want to play just one extra match without being paid?:what:

dsnjkfsnjkfsdnjksdnjfk if only it was shade... it's one of those I missed while copying every player and being fed up with G-Forms XD if anyone notices more mistakes say so

    Edit: Added

Hande Baladin for OH (not that I was gonna vote for her but considering all other names in the pool, she should have been there too:whistle:)

    Disappointments:

Ana Cristina Souza: she didnt get much chance to show her performance but whenever she played, she made many mistakes, especially her reception is really really bad. She is still young, I am sure she will improve, but so far she doesn't seem to give much contribution

Olga Biryukova: She is simply terrible, she has played in Turkish league many times but she always had bad seasons so I don't understand how she can still get contracts with turkish clubs:aww: She is dragging Mert Sigorta so much, if they would replace Olga, they could challenge many of the top teams.

AJCHARAPORN: She was playing well with Thai NT but so far her attacking is struggling a lot, she is getting many balls but her attacking ratio is extremely low for an Opp (32%)

Melis Durul, Gözde Yılmaz, Tutku Burcu Yüzgenç: To be honest, I didnt expect anything from these 3 but just want to underline how terrible their performance so far is. We are doomed if Ebrar gets injured this summer, literally every other Turkish Opp is terrible:down:

Helene ROUSSEAUX: I am very disappointed with her performance so far. She have two good seasons in Turkish league previously, she was very explosive at offense and were receiving OKish. But this season her attacking is quite average (at most games she was worse than Amanda indeed). I hope she will get in shape after the injury. PTT needs her to be at her best to be able to grab an European cup slot.

Calderon&Havlickova: Both are painful to watch, they are shadow of their glory days.

Why not? She should play for her country no matter the level of the tournament

Well she probably didnt play such a low level for a long time, I wouldn't be surprised if she would prefer to skip the tournament. There are many top players who don't want to play for their NT unless it is an important tournament (Sinead Jack, many Ukrainians, and Croatians in the past)

while Beri is preparing the pool, I will write my comments on disappointments and positive surprises of the first half of the season:

    Positive surprises:

Fedorovtseva: Indeed it is not really a surprise since she was already playing very well in OG but playing in such a big club at her first season abroad, at such a young age, I didn't expect her to be the leading scorer of FB and show such a mature game!:rose:

Caratasu: Similar comments to her as well. She was leading Yeşilyurt last season, now she really geared up, she is more consistent than ever. I am sure Guidetti has plans to call her back to Vakıfbank for next season which would be a pity of course

Gaila Lopez: She is like SWP of this season. Who can tell that this girl was playing in the second division last year? She is not only great at attacking but also serving and blocking.

Vasilantonaki: Her reception is getting better, she is more consistent at attacking. I think she is ready to play in one of the big clubs as offensive OH.

Madison Kingdon: She was the reason why THY qualified to CL last season, she is having a solid season again. It is such a pity that USA has already a bunch of very good OHs but if Larson and Hill are really out of the picture, I can imagine she could deserve a shot next to Robinson and MBH

Kiera van Ryk: Kiera had a very good season in the Polish league, I had doubts if she could show a similar level in the Turkish league, so far she is performing really well.

Rabadzhieva: She is a very solid receiver and although inconsistent, she can still contribute well at offense. I wish she could play as the starter next to Kingdon.

Gabi: Best OH of the league, she is doing great at both reception and attack so far.

Idil Naz Kanbur: I didn't watch her before, but this season she impressed me a lot. She is one of the best receivers in the league and her attacking is not bad. She also has a very good service. I expect her to get a call to NT this summer.

Ergül Eroğlu: I think she still has it! GS should have kept her this season. She is scoring a lot with Aydın and still has good blocking numbers.

Bahar Akbay&Ayçin Akyol: 3rd and 4th best blockers of the league. I am sure they will be chased by big clubs for next season. Both need to improve their attacking

People are being unfair to Eczacıbaşı. This club is one of the oldest volleyball clubs in Europe with a lot of investment. There are dozens of players who praised how good their time in Eczacıbaşı was. One of them is Boskoviç who mentions in almost every interview how happy she is in Eczacıbaşı and how well the club takes care of her, how professional the club is etc. Obviously, that's why she stays in this club for many years. And there are many other foreigners who repeat the same thing about Eczacıbaşı (Larson, Fürst, Poljak, KYK, etc)

Now some users pick up on Eczacıbaşı based on vague Instagram posts because of earlier discussions about Thaisa's injury. However, as Altinli also mentioned previously, Thaisa did NOT blame Eczacıbaşı at all. If someone claims otherwise, please feel free to post the links to interviews.

I didnt mean to sound rude. I only replied to this topic because he pulled that out of nowhere. I just dont like anyone putting that idea out there of someone with no history of such act and all the while trying to make case for an organization that had been accused before of not handling injuries well.

You don't get it, do you? I didn't claim that JT lied! Avid based his blames just because there's a possibility, and I gave that example as another possibility. The fact that there's a possibility doesn't make it a fair reason to blame a club.

Where does this bias come from? Some of you have this distorted idea of certain clubs being evil and you look for every single opportunity to throw shit on them. Without any single proof!

If we are throwing shitty claims without any base, I do genuinely believe that JT might have lied about her recovery and wanted to play herself without being fully recovered. I can't prove it, just like none of you can prove that Eczacibasi forced her to play. So let's end this discussion here without throwing any more baseless accusations

With all fairness, she is not anything close to be a legend, at her best she was at a similar level to Bahar which doesn't mean much😂
