Aneta Havlickova to Bolu Bld.
I am curious how is her current shape, her career has been like a roller coaster

Display MoreWe have to consider that chemistry plays an important role in the team, and (almost) all these players have been part of the NT in the previous years, so it makes sense that they are the base squad.
I completely agree that players like Tugba and Fatma should not be in the team, they are jot enough for this level.
About Seyma, I'm a bit more optimistic with her because although she is completely unable to attack, she has a nice serve, nice backrow skills and is actually a good blocker. Overall I think she is better that Fatma, who plays pretty much the same role.
I would never put her in the starting six, however I think she is a good sub for back row. OH position is the most unstable for Turkey, everyone knows, I just hope Guidetti will make a reasonable choice (bringing both Fatma and Sayma to Tokyo isn't a reasonable choice IMHO). I don't even know what to say about Tugba, she barely played, she shouldn't be in the main squad until at least she gets to play a bit more.
In general, I would have loved to have Ilkin (or Derya, but I prefer Ilkin) in the main group.
Edit: what I mean is that I also would have maintained the core team but added a few new elements that could contribute and left home who did pretty much nothing neither in NT nor in TL
That's exactly what we are saying, noone expects him to change the entire roster. Indeed, setter, opp and libero positions are pretty much locked anyways. Only question marks are 3rd MB and 3rd-4th OHs. Based on his statement, he should get Aslı as 3rd which I won't oppose entirely but Kübra should also have her fair share of competition. Moreover, as you mentioned both Şeyma and Fatma are not appropriate for this level. Ilkin should definitely have taken Fatma's spot.
I agree with you on Şeyma indeed, she is a great receiver, defender, blocker, and server. The only thing she can't do is attack, which is weird because she is not a short player (187)
I agree on that completely. However that is his excuse, "we got the ticket with this squad and I will use the same names at the OGs". On the other hand with this one year break, he had a good excuse to replace some names but clearly he cares more about loyalty than merits.
he cares about loyalty but he easily cuts Neriman from the NT although she has been part of it for many years
by the way, with that logic, Kübra Akman shouldn't get the spot since she wasn't on the qualification roster. Guidetti took Tuğba instead of her then
Read the same thing in Turkish forums. It says she will miss the entire VNL. She has a muscle tear in her foot they said.
Guidetti explained in his last interview why the squad is 15 and why there is a 2nd group training. Basically he acknowledges that you are only allowed to have 14 players in VNL squad and it will be a waste to take girls there and let them sit outside the court. His intention is to prepare the team for olympics and use same squad who played in olympics qualification. With that, some main players did not have a good season in Turkish league like Hande, Cansu Özbay, even Meliha. So I guess he wants to focus on them during VNL.
He also mentioned that second group was generated with the idea that promising young players, especially Ilkin, Derya, Elif and Buket can train during summer. If he did not feel obliged to keep the same squad for olympics, I am sure he would include at least Ilkin & Derya to NT this summer already. We might see one or two of them in ECH though.
why does he feel obliged to use the same roster playing qualifications. It has been such a long time ago, now he should have taken the best players that would contribute to the team most. NT selection should be all merit based
Croatia not making it to the final was sad. Though between Ukraine & Croatia for lost spot, I really wanted Ukraine to go further.
I am not sad with the list of finalists though I would not mind Croatia replacing Norway or Israel.
I think one of Belgium or sweden shouldn't have been in the final, they both were boring
the way that they announced the qualifiers doesn't represent their real ranking right?
I like Croatian song a lot, and i was sure that they will be in the final and still think that they should be, only objection goes to creator and director of stage perforamnce, but Albina & song deserve the final.
Croatia was robbed!!! Probably because of antipathetical vibes of crovolley 😂
Warming up for Eurovision, found this cute video of a love story going between Norway and Azerbaijan
It is really cute. Also the story of Tix (of Norway) and his song made my heart melt, what a great guy! Hope he makes it to the final.
Lol, it is definitely a promotional strategy but looks cute
by the way I'm liking Croatia every time I listen to it! I'll change my ranking🙈
Display MoreRousseaux, Leys, Van Hecke, Heyrman and Aelbrecht all not in Belgian NT, that's a large amount of experience all together
Rousseaux: problems with coach
Leys: stopped playing for NT herself
Van Hecke: wants to play only for club. Wants to be careful for more injuries
Aelbrecht: wants to play for NT but coach doesn't need her anymore
Heyrman: same as Aelbrecht
Sorry for offtopic but there's no NT page for Belgium
Thanks for explanation.
Aelbrecht might have passed her prime already but Heyrman is one of the elite European MBs, she could definitely be useful. As long as Grobelna is playing, I don't think Van Hecke will be missed so much. Rousseaux could be a good backup for Herbotts! Pity that Belgium can't use their best line up. They have always been a tough team that makes surprises wins against strong opponents and nowadays we need better mid-level teams in Europe. The gap between top 5 team and rest is getting bigger and bigger
Are Heyrman and Van Hecke done with NT for good or are they ınjured?
Hottie list:
1-Estonia
2-Spain
3-North macedonia
Hi everyone,
Anyone is interested in Eurovision? I am going to 1st semi finals. It is a part of government supported experiment. So excited to be in a crowded area after such a long time
Who are your favourites for top 5? My top 5 are:
1- France
2- Malta Netta
3-Switzerland
4-Cyprus
5-San marino
I'm disappointed about the absence of Saliha. Absence of tutku and buse is not an issue since it was obvious that they won't get the Olympic spot. It is also not realistic to imagine Yasemin challenging Kübra and Aslı for 3rd MB position. On the other hand our OH position is the weakest one. Besides Meliha and Hands, other two spots are open. Saliha could shine spending a summer under Guidetti. First absence of Derya and İlkin. Now excluding Saliha😤 I hope guidetti is not putting his emotions again into his decisions.
Having such a weak line up at OH position and still not inviting Neriman?😤
Does that mean langping doesn't consider Zhang Changning as starter anymore?😱
Does anyone think McKinzie and Hodge also deserved a call?
Display MorePapp retired and therefore Happ is the undisputed queen of the Tapp mountain.
I mean are any of our middles at a 100%? I feel like every single one of them had something nagging them the past couple of years. Anyway it's going to be an interesting race for the 3rd mb for the OG.
I'm on team Poulter all the way. LC and Hancock can duke it out for #2...I like the sound of Paultry&Cock coz I'm a 3rd grader but Poulter and LC should be the better tandem.
And my Lowe....hope she sticks around. Adams too. But ALSO bring in the new blood!!
For some reason, I liked Paige more than Hannah tapp
Washington is supposed to be 100% right? Or did she also get an injury recently?
Display MoreShe said that if she still had the strength she did years ago, she would never be playing volleyball in the female league. She said she could hurt someone at her old form but now she can't, and she says she is simply a strong female player and that the rest of her skills are pure talent.
PS: the interview with Tifanny was probably done way before Giba's.
Edit: basically what voulter said
I don'T get why people are still making such a big fuss about her. Was she best player of brasilian league this season, dominating every team she played against? No, right? So why claiming as if she is playing at cheat mode
I am sure he is a good man with very good intentions but so far he did not do anything to prove Sweden advanced a lot under his time. He is lucky that Bella is there, without her the team would be same as usual. Only players that looked fine in last round were wing players and guess what, all of them played abroad. Middles and setter played in Swedish league and actually graduated from RIG (the school where Ettori is training youngsters). In order to see if he did a good job with the Swedish NT, we need to wait a bit more.
Sweden desperately needs a good setter and at least one good MB. But still I believe Sweden can pull an Azerbeijan with Haak. She is way better than Rahimova, so why not?
Looks like Thompson and Drews are the only ones listed as Opp. Does that mean that their positions locked for Olympic roster? or Plummer and Wilhite will play as Opp. Indeed Wilhite played as opp in most part of the season whereas Thompson played as OH all season long.
I am surprised with absence of Adams. Didn'T she leave Aydın so that she can fully focus on her Olympic journey? Seems like it turned out to be a bad decision, she was pretty good in the first half of season
By the way what happened to Paige Tapp? Is she retired for good?
I think Bahar can be useful for some teams considering that Ergul still plays in good teams lol
At least Bahar can kill the ball somehow and has a serve like a lottery, either being an ace or error.
I am surprised with Nursevil. She sure does not have a good technique but she is fine enough to remain in Sultanlar ligi.
Maybe she wants to play as opp?🤔
Fenerbahçe updated their website and added new transfers. Cansu is registered as libero. İpar is on the list as well
I wonder why other outside hitters are not there yet. Aren't the transfers of Arina, Ana and Meliha official?🤔
I'm curious where bahar will go. Maybe Thy? Or she might retire too
