good question...this is quite a interesting game format:

generally, there 2 pools
A: RUS, JPN, BLR
B: CUB, AZE, NED

2 teams per pool will meet one another, while the rest team from different pools will meet....which means there is no teams with a bye.
for example ....when rus meets japan, and cub meets azerbaijan, belarus from pool A and netherlands from Pool B will meet.
for each team, apart from fighting for the pool, will play an additional game with a team from the the other pool.

i think this format was applied in world league final round in poland ?? couple of years ago? im not quite sure about the time...

bad news for Russia, Safronova is planning a operation on her knees shortly, its still a doubt if natasha could take part in EURO 2009 in Poland.
Merkulova is not called this season because of shoulder injury, she has to rest and plan another surgery as well.
Goncharova is not called as well for club reasons
Fateeva is still suffering from a shoulder hurt these days, now that she is not in good condition, i dont think she cannot follow a quit heavy training schedule although she is in the convocation.

last week, UAE had just given up holding the 1st world club championship on consideration of the negative effect of world financial crisis.

abu dahbi tournament is not even mentioned in most of the NTs game schedule for this year.

besides Rondon, Nunez is not called for this tournament.

Germans always have really good universal players, just simply like hippe and bremers, even brinker and kasperski.
if i am not wrong hippe played as an OH during last MVM and she did receive a bit well, although she plays more in OP to OH this season in bundesliga.
bremers used to be an OH couple of years ago, nowadays she's a MB, that sounds exciting.

germans are quite flexible to different positions, especially in between OH and OP.
Grun can fit 2 of them, the former OP guhr and thumm are the same as well.

my script is just a brief intro.....the players' position can be adjusted or modified by the head coach, or might be even changed throughout one game. who knows.

he wish Dani could and hope she would be more responsible to Brasil teamwork as a big encourage and inspiration to her.

Dani is very kind and gentle girl with smooth relationship with everyone in the team convocation. no matter her physical condition or technical level makes her an outstanding setter throughout the world, of course i think she really deserves the "cap".
