Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, November 5, 2011. The group phase of the 2011 NEVZA Club Championship is taking place this weekend in six different cities and across four countries, namely Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Iceland. A total of 21 teams have registered for the competition, 13 for the men’s division and 8 for the ladies event. Clubs from England and the Faroe Islands are making their historical debut in this year’s edition of the Champs.
Two teams from each preliminary group will qualify for the final round which is scheduled for next January 27-29, 2012, with venues still to be determined.
Group 1 in Reykjavik (ISL): HK (ISL), ÍF Fuglafjørður (FER), Middelfart (DEN)
Group 2 in Bergen (NOR): Nyborg BERGEN (NOR), Örkelljunga (SWE), Hvidovre (DEN) and Koll (NOR)
Group 3 in Falkenberg (SWE): Falkenberg (SWE), Gentofte (DEN), Randaberg IL (NOR)
Group 4 in Linköping (SWE): Linköping (SWE), Førde VBK (NOR) and Marienlyst (DEN)
