  • V-League matches have been cancelled for the weekend of March 12th and 13th. This is due to the massive earthquake in the Sendai area. There were no games scheduled in that area this weekend, but given the circumstances, I can understand the reasoning.

  • The Board of Directors for the V-League announced on March 14th, that the season would not continue due to the number of lives lost in the earthquake in the Sendai area of Japan. The matches for rounds 25-28 will not be played, nor will the semifinal or final rounds.

The team that was leading at the end of the last played round was the Sakai Blazers and they have been declared the champions for the 2010-2011 Premier League season.

Kunihiro Shimizu is the Best Spiker at 55.6%
Ernardo Gomez is the Best Scorer with 657 points
Takaaki Tomimatsu is the Best Blocker with 0.86 blocks per set
Ernardo Gomez is the Best Server
Kohichiro Koga is the Best Serve Receiver

  • Is it the first the Champion title for the Team?

Nope this is their fourth championship in the V-League. 1996-1997, 1997-1998, 2005-2006 and 2010-2011.

The first two titles were under the name Nippon Steel Blazers, which had won the Japanese League championship 12 times before the V-League was created in 1994.
