Dominican Republic upsets Cuba 3-1 at China international women's volleyball tournament

BEILUN, China, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Dominica Republic stunned Cuba 25-19, 20-25, 25-20 and 25-21 here on Saturday, last day of the 2011 China International women's volleyball tournament.
With
the victory, the Dominica Republic claim the second place of the
tournament with a 2-1 win-loss record during the three-day tournament.
Mambru Altagracia scored 17 points for the Dominica Republic while Rivera Brens Prisilla added 15.
The
Dominicans jumped to a 8-4 lead at the first TTO and extended to 16-9
with the Cuba team struggling with poor receiving. On back of high
quality outside attacks, the Dominica Republic clinched the lopsided
opener 25-19.
Cuba got its offense at the start of the second set
and managed to lead at 6-2 to force Marcos Kwiek, head coach of
Dominica Republic, to call a time-out. But Cuba held the leading trend
firmly and led the game 16-11 into the second TTO. With Rojas Orta
Alena's powerful spike from middle of the net, Cuba led at 23-19 and
never looked back.
The Dominica Republic fought back in the third
set to build a 8-3 lead and pushed forward to the second TTO at 16-9.
Cuba launched a 5-0 run thereafter, but the Dominicans answered with a
4-0 run to seal the victory at 25-20.
Both team tied at 7-7 in the fourth set before Dominica Republic took the lead at 9-7. Mambru
Altagracia and Marte Frica Niverka Dharlenis combined to score a string
of scores for Dominica Republic to enlarge the lead at 21-14 and finally won the set at 25-21.

Mendoza Yoana contributed 21 points to lead the game for Cuba, but she
could not get much help from her teammates as no other players could get
a double-digit scoring. Santos Allegne Yanelis scored seven while
Carcaces Opon Kenia six.
"It is always difficult playing against
Cuba, we met many times and know each other well," said Kwiek. "I am
happy that we win the game. We are playing better and better in these
two tournaments."

Unfortunately it isn't full match, first set and part of fourth set. I don't know why, but it's better than nothing.
