And then blocked twice
Brazil will be a nice test for her, let's see how she can handle a good block team
3 points and then 3 errors. I agree, this will be her biggest challenge so far.

3 straight points for Fedorevtseva right away!
OMG Malygina is starting for Russia. What did we do to deserve this?
😭😭😭
someone send us a Boskovic. We will give you Hancock and Karsta Lowe 😂😂
I bet Russia would be willing to give you Biryukova, Malygina, and Brovkina all together in exchange for at least SWP
her sets are slower than both Poulter and Carlinis. Really? She didn’t show any connection with the middles today and struggled with it at Novara. Carlini and Poulter are both better blockers and defenders. Both are clear of Hancock. I don’t see it. She’s steady but she’s not flashy (as Poulter) or consistent or a leader (as Carlini)
USA can ditch their least favorite setter and let Russia have them. And while you're at it, at least one or two OHs.
Seriously, USA has so much depth in their roster. Their "weakest" players could probably be starters in other teams. Not many teams have that kind of luxury.
Selinger rolling like a pro player
TUR-GER 3-1
DOM-KOR 3-1
BEL-POL 2-3
SRB-THA 3-0
CHN-CAN 3-1
USA-NED 3-0
ITA-JPN 3-2
BRA-RUS 3-1
Goncharova coming up with the points when they needed it most.
If Nwakalor could learn how to receive decently as OH, Italy could have two Egonus on court.
Fetisova is called the best MB in the world a couple times but honestly, I never saw it.
The Russian MB's in general are a bit, low energy/presence for me. This is partly due to the reception but not solely.
I think Russia should be adding some more young players and I'd go for MB (they won some U tours, the talent is there) and try to get them on the Arina train for a new gen.
I wouldn't call her the best MB in the world because her attack is almost non-existent. But when it comes to blocking, she's on top 5.
edit: Leonardo D. beat me to it. Lol.
I agree that Russian MB performances are something to be concerned about but I think they should be given a few more weeks to be given a more thorough assessment. After all, it's the first tournament for NT and Players can grow over the course of the next few weeks.
Arina! Russia could have lost this match without her. Goncharova is a bit absent today.
Nwakalor is unstoppable so far. Almost every ball that goes her way is a point.
It worked tho
Karpol could use one on his timeouts
That timeout from Buzato seemed more like a comedy routine than a real timeout.
Russia has never gotten a decent libero in decade.
I think the best Russian libero ever came from the last decade. Malova and Kabeshova.
Arina the only player to be called using her first name! lol
Fedorovtseva is a bit of a long-ass name to write
Russia is sleepy and uninspired today. Arina with immediate impact on her entrance! Would like to see how she would fare against the top teams.
Women's volleyball is much more popular here in general.
Looks like Dixon can say goodbye to Tokyo because Akinradewo still has it.
Ebrar is super reliable! Good news for Turkey!
