Glad i was wrong with AUT vs. SUI

I assume Austria has the edge over Switzerland. Seems to me Austria played clearly more preparation matches this summer (in the near Maribor training centre also against NCAA teams on their overseas summer trips) and has more settled line-up right now. We will see...

I don't see Sweden beat Finland (even without Piia Korhonen). The Finns have become quite a solid team lately, no stars but pretty decent on most/all positions. Sweden might have a few widely-known names but has also more weak spots/positions which can be exploited IMO. But i can be wrong.

Former Schwerin player Lousi Souza Ziegler from Romania (CSM Targoviste) to UTE in Hungary.
-
Another transfer to a Greek League club: Madelaynne Montano to Aris Thessaloniki.
-
Courtney Schwan (USA/OH) apparently to Lardini Filottrano (announced by herself).

Judging from the current team roster of Suhl on their website, it looks like 40 year old libero Miloslava Lauerova will still continue to play next season
They will announce two transfers in the course of this week.
I know of another libero who already has written them as her club in her instagram bio (curly-blond, rather short name and quite successful last weekend)...
EDIT: Just saw that the agency announced the signing over a month ago , so it's no "secret" anyway:

Viki Orsi Toth's two-year doping suspension ends soon (in 3(?) weeks) as far as i know. I think, it was written somewhere that Menegatti will team up with her again. In fact they're already listed as a pair in preliminary entry lists of several tournaments taking place after that date. Remains to be seen if they really show up and are ready to compete and on which level. No idea if this is indeed the best solution or if there are upcoming italian girls who would be a better match. Italian users might know more.

I don't find it too surprising In the past a lot of German players who were eternal bench players in Bundesliga came to play in Switzerland, and despite being in NT last year, Dora never had a real breakthrough in Bundesliga, so I think it's not the worst choice to go to play in a good Swiss team instead of playing for a bad German one or spend another year on bench.
How did Pogany do in Pfeffingen last season?
OK, maybe i suffered a little bit of "big brand bias" then. I know that Grozer didn't play that much, but i thought she still was rated relatively high in Germany and shouldn't have much problem to be hired by another mid-level german team. If she wants to play as a starter for a whole season it might be a good choice indeed, i would guess she is supposed to fill the spot of the leaving Nicole Walch in Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen, but i can be wrong. I think Pogany did well, i might only have seen 3-4 full matches of them though, and i can't remember any words of critic in their local press (and they usually don't hold back). But Schwerin is a "different animal" of course. If she gets a chance to play, the performance with German NT will be a much more telling predictor, i guess. I wish her all the best .

Anna Pogany is leaving Sm'Aesch Pfeffingen (SUI) and might go back to the Bundesliga (which is no surprise). A little bit more surprising is that they could hire Dora Grozer for next season.

... and another Swiss League import: Wiesbaden has announced american setter Morgan Bergren. Nice career step also for her. Congrats!
-
I'm glad for Maja Storck . Shows that she could convince with her performance also people beyond the swiss volleyball scene (like Aachen).

Seems like Prostejov will not participate in the Champions League (rather in CEV or Challenge Cup), at least as i understand the translation of an interview with their coach on their website:
http://www.vkprostejov.cz/index.php?novinka=4157That's a pity... was a nice team to root for in the CL.
How many teams will have to say "NO" until CEV EVENTUALLY starts to "rethink" all its regulations and requirements for participation

"Fun" fact I just heared from a swiss friend: After Sm'Aesch-Pfeffingen won the first game in the Finals (3:1) and was about to maybe get the 4th set in Zurich what would have meant a Tie-Break, Jacobi ordered the Coach to take the two mandatory swiss players off the court and play with their CL-Line-Up. Volero won that Set 26-24 and won the game 3:1 and even though its against the rules the Club has "only" to pay a 20'000.- fine, which is nothing for them.
If this is true, what a shame for sportmanship
The money "loss" is nothing compared to the competitive advantage that a Team like Volero can gain with willingly breaking the rules and regulations. It's sad when you call the league weak for years and when finally someone challenges you, you break the rules.I'm kind of glad, that i missed this, as i was watching the live broadcast of the bronze medal game (Düdingen-Kanti). But honestly, i wasn't really surprised to read about it afterwards and see the short clip of his behavior. German users should be relieved, that he has chosen France to continue his "endeavours".

Congrats! They really have been the "comeback kids" of this competition, lol. Long live the Challenge Cup.
