Czech Republic great nerves and great serves!
Overall it was a nice match, even if it finished 3-0. The score was tight in all sets (maybe a bit less in the third but that's ok) so the teams played an even match. Turkiye held their nerves when it mattered the most: in the last part of the sets. Poland a lead of 3/4 point but couldn't close and in the end they let loose. Stenzel had some amazing digs, deserves a lot of credit and also Korneluk I feel has been the most stable player for Poland. Stysiak was kinda off today, maybe a double sub could have done better in a couple of occasions.
Turkiye still misses their middles (like A LOT) but today Vargas was just playing on a league of her own. Huge credits to Ebrar, even when targeted by serve she kept up, scored, defended (that dig in second set on 21 tie) and served great. Hande was great in the first set, she sided out a lot of balls. The Cansu-Elif race paid off, nice by Santarelli
Why game is late? Netherlands and Bulgaria played for 45 minutes.
Not late, it's supposed to start at 21.15 (at least that is the time the tv program had and also on Eurovolley tv)
Can Parrocchiale do backrow attack?
She can barely provide reception and defense which is her job...maybe she is better on pipe
Display Moredid bulgaria already achieved quarter finals in last decade?
I remember them in 2013,people consider favourite i think they won european league by then anf that year they beat brazil 3-0 in grand prix
I think they didn't make the playoffs
In 2017 they were favourites...they were in a tough pool with russia and turkey and made good games against them...then face germany and eliminated
2021 the same 1st of their pool and lost to sweden at home at eight finals....bulgaria always a dissapointment at european champs
Italian commentators said that Bulgaria's best placement was 3rd in like 2001. Then they always finished max 8th (so eliminated at eight finals). This is already an improvement for them
I didn't follow Netherlands in the group stage, but did Reesink replace Knip as starting libero?
When Herbots returns in shape Belgium should just stick to this same formation, just replacing Stragier with Herbots. They might have a higher ceiling this way. Also, Rampelberg is such a wonderful digger, deserves so much credit
Cansu is a big liability on block. Her sets to Vargas was unnecessary fast, I don't remember when the last time Vargas got blocked 8 times.
Elif should return the starting 6.
Eda was terrible as well. I have trust on her to reach a better level against Poland.
Eda seemed to have a way better connection with Elif rather than Cansu, or maybe it's just that recently she has played more with her. I would have put in Elif more than once in this match...
Display MoreTurkey won 3-1, I didn't watch the game but considering the comments here, I think we are dropping from VNL next season
Idk what Ebrar did as I tuned in late but I guess it's just the classic screaming across the net thing that people get bothered by when Ebrar does it It seems people here consider this the worst crime, worse than athletes actually committing real crimes, it's rude I guess but these are rivals to me idc personally, having "villains" is good for the sport generally. On another note she was very good at that set ending ngl
Belgium seems to have upped their game quite a bit without Herbotts, is this kind of a statement from the team?
For Turkey it was a good game to me from the little I watched at the set ending lol but clearly some things weren't working well today as well.
You really couldn't have made a better sum up
Hande is the MVP of this match hands down but Ebrar saved Turkiye's ass more than once. Vargas and Eda were a bit of a shadow today and I also didn't particularly like Cansu. They started slowly and felt pressure, kudos to Belgium for the great performance tho, great blocks and great digs!
22-18 for Turkiye
Score update ?
Spain is playing a very ordinate volleyball, not flashy but clean and effective. They are a bit loose on their nerves tho.
Italy's reception is a horror movie but Antropova saved the set
This article is literally pure speculation but it says that Ferhat might lose the guide of both Croatia (probably after the summer) and Ecza (if they don't win anything next season). When should both contracts expire on paper?
Is Germany's second place in the pool in danger with this defeat?
but today she is doing very good, perfect reception most of the times
Reception is a big yes, her defence is kinda bad tho...she lead to some misunderstandings too.
I also wanted to see Simge, given that anyway Gizem is seated on the starting six spot and not bothered by any of the two.
Is Simge ok? I think I didn't see her even on the bench
Orro and Lubaian are not good blockers. Egonu improved her blocking towards the end of the season but also need to see in the italin NT.
Orro is a good blocker tho (for being a short setter of course). Still, blocking might not be as effective as previously (I'm also thinking of Danesi's current shape and the fact that the other MBs are not blocking machines).
Fersino is a good receiver (she's better at digging but overall she is a solid all-around) but I don't know if she can cover Antropova against tough serving teams. Bosetti is 100% needed in this team
