Whenever I see Milenkovic now I call her "buca" because of you
-
I'm imagining Mirkovic instead of Hena, laughing in our face just like Mijatovic... 😢
-
-
We waited all season long for this summer and once it started it's only been disaster, frustration and disappointment so far.
My morale and expectations now are at an all-time low, so I guess any positive thing (win) that happens will be a bonus for me.
-
-
What if it's Mijatovic starts?
Then if you see a fan running down from the stands and tackles her on the court, you'd know it's me.
-
Uzelac will likely miss this whole week due to minor injury.
I absolutely hate this already and it hasn’t even started yet…
At least Ivanovic will get to play but it’s gonna be another embarrassment in fromt of a home crowd without Tijana and Uzelac.
-
Boskovic is hampered by an injury, it is still unknown whether she will play this week.
-
-
I feel like it should've been 1-1 after the second game because technically Hena didn't say the name of the club but rather the name of the city it comes from
Are we sure Uzelac understood this game
I wish they didn't put a photo on the video what is happening with that ball... it would've gotten more views if they just used a thumbnail but ossrb loves using microsoft paint
We do! Lol
If they knew they would be our new main sponsor

Tijana Bošković interview for Meridian Sport - translated by me
Transfer of the year – Tijana Bošković in Vakifbank. Maybe the topic is not relevant at the moment because the national team season is in progress, but it is certainly very important and must not be neglected. That's why our best volleyball player spoke to Meridian Sport today about the transfer of the year, and about all the challenges that await her in the Serbian jersey...How did you decide to go to Vakifbank?
- A big change for me, at the same time not so big because I will stay in the same city and play in the same league. All the faces in the new club are familiar to me. I had the opportunity in the previous two years in the national team to work with Giovanni Guidetti. I have to be honest, he is one of the reasons I decided to go to Vakifbank. I think he has great knowledge and has done amazing things with Vakifbank. You saw the end of last season's championship... Ten years in Eczacibasi is a special experience for me. It will remain a fond memory, even though we did not achieve some of the goals we had. The most important thing is the respect that was mutual, as an athlete and as a player I always wanted to show what I know on the field, and they returned it to me with respect. That is extremely important to me, and now I am looking forward to new challenges. Putting on a new jersey is a new challenge.
Was the main motive to behind the move to try and win the trophies you were missing or did you just need a change?
- I needed a change... I felt it and I wanted to be honest with myself. To do what I feel is right... I felt it was time for something to change. These are not overnight decisions. It is something that needs to be thought through. Of course, first with myself, then with people whose opinion is extremely important to me. It was hard, I can't lie. It is somewhat logical. I think I made the right move, but time will tell. All the challenges that are in front of me - I am ready for them.
What do you think about Vakifbank's squad for next season?
- It seems to me that the team has not changed significantly compared to the previous year. The players who have been with Vakifbank for a long time have remained there. It is important that the team is of good quality, both in attack and in reception and other elements. I believe that we have a chance to fight for the top and for the trophies in all competitions. It's just too early for me to talk about it now. The focus is on the national team.
How much does it mean to you that Katarina Dangubić also moved there?
- It's always nice to play in the club with the teammate from the national team. I was lucky to share the field with Maja Ognjenović in Eczacibasi for four years - two times for two years, because she left and came back. Also, with Slađa for one season and with Jovana for the last two seasons. It really means a lot... Also to talk with someone in your own language, to share some good and bad things. I'm glad Katarina and I will play together, she had a phenomenal season at Galatasaray. There was a great rivalry between them and us - we played matches for third place. I hope that together we will have great success next season.
How much did you like the slightly longer vacation after the season in Eczacibasi - both physically and mentally?
- The season in Turkey, as always, was tiring in the physical sense, but also mentally - there is always saturation, fatigue... We are human. We need a break, to get off the court and not think about sports and volleyball. I think that it is extremely healthy for all athletes - to have time that they will use and devote to themselves only, and not to sports obligations. You know that I skipped the first tournament that was played in Canada, I hope I will be available in Belgrade to help the team as much as possible at the moment.
How nice will it be to play in Belgrade?
- After four years, we are here again... We played the European Championship in 2021. My wish was always to play a big competition in front of the home crowd. That came true in 2021. When I heard that we would be playing home again, I immediately felt excitement and joy - because playing for the national team is in itself a great honor and pride. And when you play in your own country, then it's on another level. I believe that we will have great support, just like at EC in 2021. We know that we have done great things in previous years. We also know that a large number of young people decide to play volleyball because we are their role models and indicators that when you work hard and believe - results come and dreams come true. We play four games from June 18 to 22, we are excited, I really can't wait for it to start.
How strange is it to you that some players you have been with for years are not there anymore?
- It's unusual, because you've been used to the same faces for years. I will also include myself there... Maja, Slađa, Teodora, me... Now we are older and more experienced. I am glad that the younger girls are here. I followed the tournament in Canada, I didn't have much opportunity to train with them. Just the last few days when they came back. The potential is obvious, but it can be seen that we lack teamwork and games together. I believe that we can continue where we left off, I just think that we need patience, and mutual support. We, who have been here longer, must support them, help them in every sense. We know it's not easy for them, because we also went through all that and had Maja Ognjenović, Milena Rašić, Stefana Veljković and all the others at our disposal. Don't want to forget anyone... That support really meant a lot to us, so we know what they need and how they feel. We are here for them... The most important thing is that the quality exists, and that the girls have the desire to work - that is important. It's hard without it. It will be challenging but we have a lot of games in the Nations League to play together. The emphasis is on the World Championship, which is at the end of August. The League of Nations is extremely important due to the new scoring system, in order to make some things easier for us in the future when the qualifiers are played, among other things.
So many years, matches, balls won... Do you enter the arena again every year with the same motive to play for Serbia?
- Still, yes... Thank God that's the case. If it wasn't like that, I don't think I would play at my level and maybe I wouldn't be here. It wouldn't be fair to be here if I didn't felt that way. At least I think so. The desire is still there. What's most important is that health serves me well, as well as the other girls. Because of this abnormal effort, which is present in all sports. Not only in volleyball, but I think we are at the forefront with the number of games and competitions, especially during the national team summers. I am grateful for the understanding of the coach and that I could miss that first first tournament in Canada. I really needed a break, and now that we've all started together, there's no stopping until the end of the WC.
How difficult is it to carry such a burden on your back for more than ten years in the national team?
- I don't know... As I get older, I think that the burden is greater, that the responsibility is greater. When you are younger, you are not aware of some things, the importance of the national team. With experience, it's easier for you in one hand, and harder in the other. You feel a greater responsibility... But both I and the other girls balance all that very well.
Have you thought that after 2021 it was possible that one day Zoran Terzić could be back?
- At first I was shocked when I heard that he was leaving, but of course we all understood his reasons. Maybe there was some saturation, at least that's what I thought at that moment... After all, he was here for 20 years. We all understood the reasons why Terza and Federation broke up, but I did not believe that we would work together again. At least not in the national team... When I heard that he was coming back, that news was a surprise to me. I was thinking about how the things would look like with him now. His way of working is well known to everyone. Those of us who have been here a little longer have spent so much time with him - we know each other very well... Already after the first training session, we were back to our old ways, as if he had never left. He hasn't changed at all. Very quickly that feeling when he was here the first time came back and now I feel as if he never left.

I can only imagine how would the bus look like if they allowed our "graphic experts" from OSSRB to work on it 🤣

I swear I'm starting to develop PTSD whenever we take 2-0 lead lol

I do not agree with that, that’s all. It’s not the first time because I have a different opinion about her than you so I am defending her.
I guess you are just very focused on every set of hers. Noone comments Brie’s sets and she’s made a couple of setting errors in this first set as well, even more than Sladjana. I am defending her because I just think she is overcriticized, all Serbian fans here are focused on her each game and make comments as if all the loses are her fault and point out every single mistake she makes and never appreciate the good things she does. Im not saying she’s a great setter, but for me a heavily overcritized here, thats all. I have watched this first set and what i noticed primarily was good volleyball on both sides with many nice rallies and not every imprecise ball Mirkovic has set.
Can you give us your opinion on Mina Mijatovic, please? I'd be curious to read it lol

They say that sport usually reflects the state of the country. In our case it reflects the state of the Federation as well.
Federation full of corruption, nepotism and people selected based on their membership in the ruling party rather than on their skills, experience and knowledge. And it literally reflects the entire Federation, from top to bottom. The results on court are just the final result of it all.
But out of them all, because I know what kind of rotten people sit in the Federation, I am mostly disappointed in Terzic, his behaviour and his acceptance to be a part of this whole charade.
First, I can't believe that he accepted to be a pawn of this corrupt system and accepted to be the one putting his name on the line while agents, club presidents and our very own main guy of Federation (Knezevic) are pushing their mediocre players into the team in order to boost their reputation and value so that they can sell them abroad. While we have players who worked their ass of the entire season, played good in their leagues and some of them didn't even get an invite for the training camp, while certain individuals who are in no way national team material are being pushed down our throat for years now.
Second of all, I hate his stubborn and, I must add, STUPID attitude towards VNL. His decision to skip this tournament has hurt us so badly. So as if it's not bad enough that you push certain underserving players to the team, you also get to decide to skip coaching them while being PAID to coach them. I'm pretty sure none of us gets to choose when will we appear at work while being fully paid for it.
And the final thing that kills my morale is seeing the attitude of the players. They are slowly turning into a loser-mentality team. That post-game interview of Bukilic after a 3-0 defeat against Japan is the perfect example of it. She was all smiling and telling how we played well and managed to catch up with Japan a couple of times. Then 10 minutes after the end of the game she is reposting her points on IG stories. It made my blood boil.
Tijana and Aleksic will be back and with them we will certainly play better but the things just look bleak now, even when you look into the future. We are putting our 2028 Olympics into jeoparady because of the things I mentioned above. And what's even worse - I don't see that things will change any time soon.
