Yeah. Ageo is collecting good players but just hoarding them and placing them on the shelf. Another one of my favorites is Shiina, she saw some court action while the old Japanese and Brazilian coach were in charge. Now she just participates in training and on club's twitter's posts. I've seen Kamei's spikes during a friendly match between Ageo and NEC prior to start of 2022-2023 season, she hits hard and her jump serves are good too. I wonder why they would rather stay at Ageo and not venture with other clubs, even at V2 league if volleyball is their passion. Sasaki is listed on each game as part of the 14-women roster; however, even when Ageo is playing weaker teams like Aranmare recently, the coach did no try to give her a few minutes.

kurogo is practically a cardboard cutout of her former overconfident self. underwhelming start for her. but maybe that's how she is now. i don't see her returning to toray. she might just end up clubhopping like uchiseto and nabeya

nec suits blue more than the stingy red they've been wearing for so long i hope they keep it in their future jersey switches

I hope Ageo's coach would put Sasaki in the game instead of Kurogo. During the Kurashiki tournament and Summer league, Sasaki did well and was always a team cheer leader even when on bench. Midway thru the tournament, if Kurogo does not improve, then time to switch. Ageo's Horisako is also better than Kurogo right now.

Kojima and Fukudome are two liberos who seem to get better as the competition got tougher, ie., the big leagues. Fukudome is just fast. Kojima had that "fuck you, try hitting one past me. I dare you" attitude, which is rare

Iwasawa remains to be seen but it would be cool if she became "Japan's libero". She has great intuition of where loose balls are going to end up. I've never seen her talk or anything. I just assume she's charming/funny and don't want to be disappointed

I like Iwasawa, she's the Tasmanian Devil for Ageo, here, there and everywhere. Jaja and Iwasawa was a great team on the court.

Wada was very noticeable last season . What's her face didn't play as much so she got court time

Wada scored 351 pts last season even with limited exposure per JVL records query. JT has a lot of good OHs, Nishikawa, Tanaka, Hayashi in addition to Wada, all national team caliber. Lowe and Drews took majority of the plays as OHs, in some games, JT played Nishikawa as MB to increase her playing time. This 2023-2024 season, this is the reason why JT added Jaja and Ogawa to their MB corps, their weakness in 2023 season. Wada is the future and her spikes are hard to defend against. Saitama never won against JT in the regular season because of their excellent OHs line-up.

Thatdao will play with ageo. I just saw it somewhere. They switched team with santiago? Ajcharaporn might be Okayama.

Ageo has 5 MBs already, Aoyagi will be the starter and Yamanaka is ready to shine, she was voted best MB when Japan team won the Asean Cup over a year ago and beat China and Vietnam. Suzuki. Kirusu and Gonda (MBs) did well at the Kurowashiki tournament wherein Ageo placed second to PFU. I hope they're given a chance to play now since Jaja left. There was no room for them to play since Jaja and Aoyagi were solid and effective MBs. Thatdao brings a lot of experience and defense but her services could suit other teams better. Toray needs an MB since Ogawa left and have room for an Asian import.

Does anyone know the reason why Okayama Seagulls do not draft foreign imports other than Asian imports? I looked at the team's roster from 2019-2023 (2022-2023 season) and did not see one. Their local Japanese players are good defensively but could use a foreign OP/MB from EU, South America or US to boost their offense to be on par with the top tier V1 teams.

With Toray Arrows losing Jana Kulan, Mayu Ishikawa and Erina Ogawa combined this season is like losing 60% of their offense. Toyota, Hitachi, Denso and PFU will have a shot at the playoffs along with Ageo, NEC, JT, Hisamitsu and Toray, the top 5 last season. This will be an interesting season; I think six teams will vie for the playoff spots?
