It's really troublesome.. and it's more or less affected the NT performance.... They have to fix it fast, if they really target a medal in Olympic 2020...
Another matter puzzling me: why are no other Korean NT players play on leagues outside S.Korea beside KYK? Is it because no clubs offer any of them? Or there are offers, but they won't allow to play abroad by the higher ups? Or the players themselves doesn't want to play abroad?
There are a few of them that I think should play in "more" competitive leagues to improve themselves..
But there are 2 that I definitely think they should really play abroad:
1. It is a little late but still can: MB Yang Hyo Jin.. I could say she has no real rival in her position in Korea, be in scoring, block kill, and average blocking... Doesn't matter her club didn't perform well, she awarded the best MB almost every season... There should be a club or two outside Korea that interested of her.. But she's approaching 30 now and a captain and also the highest paid in the country, so I'm pessimistic she would want to play abroad...
2. OH Lee Jae Young.. She's been awarded best OH the last 3 yrs in the league .. She just debuted 4 yrs ago .. Even when the club was in the bottom rank, she still got the award! I'm really worried she can't improve much if she's staying in Korea, because she's the ace of her club and no competitor...She's still young and has potential as all around player .. In the NT she perform well enough in covering for KYK. in many matches...
Though it's purely my personal subjective suggestion... because playing in other leagues doesn't guarantee to became better.. or staying will became worse... It's just about experience...
but it's all really depend on good relationship and cooperation between the pro league (KOVO) and the KVA....
OH Lee jaeyeong should try playing with other clubs outside of korea. but I hope she doesnt run into the same issue KYK did in the past. hopefully that issue isnt the reason players aren't playing outside if korean.
