In the semifinals, China defeated Korea 3-0 (25-13, 25-21, 25-21) to claim the first ticket to the gold medal match, with Liu Yanhan showing yet another superb scoring game. Chinese Taipei star Chen Tzu-Ya was the lone player to contribute in double digits for with 11 points, 10 of which came from attacks.
Muraleedharan Shyamala Poornima exploded for 30 points to help India outlast Iran 3-2 (22-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-20, 15-9) to set up a duel with Chinese Taipei for fifth place on Saturday.
