Forgert about Polish hosting, Yavor, the biggest problem here is Maccerata/Cuneo-Trento/Noliko. They don't want italian teams in FF, this is disgusting . Trento with highest ranking in clubs in Europe against Winner of cup for previous year or Cuneo if they win with Noliko. Why there is no ranking like in football, in their champions league such bullshits happens rarely, not like in CEV competitions
Personally, I have mixed feelings about the early Italian matches. It's a pity that two Italian clubs can't play the final four, but it's making the path to the Final Four for Trentino more difficult than last years. Yeah, they are 3 times in a row champion of Europe and best team of the world and they have "man-gods" Juantorena and Kaziyski in their team and so on bla bla bla... but finally now they must proove that they are a world top team to make it into the Final Four.

Ryan Ammerman from Piacenza to Knack Roeselare.
I read on this forum following statement: "Ryan Ammerman is the worst setter I've ever seen." Is he really that bad? Or just a bad match? I know he's not a superb setter, but I want to know if he's good enough for Roeselare. Can someone gives his opinion?

Best coach: Vladimir Alekno
Every year, the Russian team wins a trophy. Also champion of Russia with Zenit Kazan.
1) Maxim Mikhaylov
MVP in World League, best scorer Final Four Champions League, Champion of Russia: said enough. 2011 = year of Maxim Mikhaylov.
2) Luciano De Cecco
He showed a lot of great sets in international competitions. He reminds me of Garcia: very smart player and dynamic sets. IMO the best setter in the world nowadays. He didn't won anything this year, but he takes Argentina to a higher levels with his sets.
3) Bartosz Kurek
Best scorer of Poland team. I don't like his style, but he scored a lot of points for Poland in international tournaments.

but I don't know European setter who has them all
Frank Depestele...
Good at blocking, serving, spiking and passing. -
Austria - Belgium 1:3 (-17, -19, 21, -20)
Topscorers: Zass 21, Guttmann 11, Gavan 5, Laimer 5 / Verheers 13, Verhanneman 12
Verhees is topscorer in this match with 13 points. In other match against Austria, he scored 16 points. Nothing special about it, you think.
He's a middle blocker...

My dream team
S: Luciano De Cecco (young and quick precise sets)
OH: Matey Kaziyski (no comment ) / Wout Wijsmans (experienced, smart and great power)
MB: Wytze Kooistra (strong attack, I like his style) / Dimitry Muserskiy (the best MB for me: strong attack, block ánd serve)
OPP: Maxim Mikhaylov (a monster in volleyball, he puts every ball down on the floor)
LIBERO: Hubert Henno (experienced, great reflexes) -
Just saw Italy - France second match, and I must say I'm very impressed in "new" Italy.
I thought when Vermiglio and Fei don't play in national team anymore, the level of the team will drop.
But that's absolutely not true. Travica is great (his single block at match point was FANTASTIC) and also I'm also impressed by Lasko. I thought he couldn't compete with Fei, but he's doing a great job as opposite!Together with Argentina, they are the surprises of the World League this far!
I hope the final four teams will be Brazil, Russia, Argentina and Italy.

Cristian Poglagen has some great statics in reception and attack. Webber said good things about him before WCH, when he was in the list of 15 players to WCh. Argentina have some good and young OHs like Conte, Quiroga and now, Poglagen. I hope i can watch him playing in the World League.
Cristian is such a good player (you compare him with Conte and Quiroga...)? He signed a contract for one year with Roeselare and the head coach already said that they signed a contract with him before the Italian top teams could take him away for more money . I think that he's good if you see his statistics, but I never saw him play...

For me, Argentina may play the final. What a team: young talented players with fantastic Conte and De Cecco. 3-0 against Finland.
World league this year is one with great surprises: Argentian, Korea, Italy (after leaving Vermiglio and Fei, I thought they will be less stronger). Also France is a great surprise, but in a rather pessimistic way .

In which Club did play and will be playing Setter Butko from Russia? He is good Driver.
Last season he played at Lokomotiv Novosibirsk. I think he will stay there. Two year ago he played at Iskra Odintsovo.

This one is esepcially for our friend in Belgium: Richard. Roeselare vs Maaseik in 98 I believe. Line ups include:
Roeselare: Ron Zwerver, Martin an der Horst, Steven Shitu and the other three Belgians I can't remember.
Maaseik: Wijsmans as opposite, Steve Smith, Vital Heynen, Franky Reimen and others.
Now Wijsmans was a lot younger, but to say he wasn't yet as good as he is now is perhaps not as accurate.
Ron Zwerver obviously was getting old, but still powers some nice spikes in. Steven Shitu has a nice jump. So without further ado:
The Belgians are Stijn Coene, Kris Tanghe, Dennis Van Calster (libero) and Walter Engelen. (I downloaded it)

The Latvian opposite Hermans Egleskalns(what a name ) leaves the Finnish team Lakkapää and signs with Noliko Maaseik (BEL).

My first touch with international and national volleyball was in 2007. The first match I saw live was Roeselare - Macerata Champions League. Roeselare won with 3-0 I think.
But I play volleyball myself, I started in 2001...
