MVP: Patricia Thormann / Stefanie Karg

As expected, for Dresden the MBs played very well, for Schwerin the OHs and mainly Patricia Thormann. Dresden will need more contribution from position 4 on Saturday if they want to win, but it would also be good for Schwerin if their MBs can do better if they want to win again on Saturday.

Schwerin wins 5th set 15:10. Paty Thormann served from 5:6 until 12:6. Dresden came back from 7:13 to 10:13 but it wasn't enough. If I remember well from live stats, Denise Hanke scored 4 attacks in tie-break
    Stats and more info soon.

Match is going to 5th set. Schwerin won the first two, Dresden the next two. Schwerin's attackers Topic, Buijs and Thormann had very good % in first two sets (all over 50%) and Dresden had very low % in attack, but since 3rd set Dresden managed to control Schwerin's attackers much better and Dresden's MBs score a lot of attacks.

Why must Barboza leave if Glass comes..??? ?( I don't understand..

Because in A1 there's a rule that a team can't have more than 2 foreigners from the same country, so with Glass and Harmotto under contract, Modena can't keep Barboza as 3rd American. Or does this rule no longer exist?

For those who don't follow German league, Kerstin Tzscherlich is currently playing with knee injury, she can't even walk normally but she still plays. She was having problems all season, she even couldn't play at all for some time in February/March. It's just 3 weeks until Ankara tournament, I really hope Guidetti will use Dürr or even Thomsen as libero there, if we reach final it will be 5 matches in 6 days and it would be stupid to let Tzscherlich play there with her injury...

Lonneke Sloetjes is with Dutch NT, she is doing reduced training due to her ankle injury but she'll be able to play Ankara tournament :)

Lonneke Sloetjes renewed her contract in Münster for another year.

Great news for Münster  The contracts of Cutura, Jelinkova, Dörendahl and some other players and also of coach Axel Büring also end after the season, I hope Münster can keep most of the current team. Axel Büring is coach there since almost 20 years so I'd be very surprised if he leaves.

That means one of two Modena's USA players will have to leave, probably Barboza.

Ah right, well Harmotto already renewed her contract so if Glass really comes Barboza must leave.

According to volleyball.it the transfer of Glass is official. Modena probably will loan Partenio to another club where she can play as starter. They wanted Chiappini as coach but he goes to Baku, so they might keep Cuccarini even though they don't really want to...

I finally got to watch the full match too now...until the middle of 2nd set I thought what is everyone talking about?? But then all of a sudden Goncharova started shouting towards Kazan players after every point she scored, I didn't see anything happen but there must have been a reason for her to do it all of a sudden. Actually I admired how Kazan players managed not to be provoked by her behavior for a long time but then Gamova and Larson started doing the same. I can't understand that the referee never even warned any player during the whole match :what: I have to say I like matches with some fire, but in this match it was just stupid...

I don't remember her as OH, but as OPP. Karpol put her on MB 2 years ago, first season she was OPP in Uralochka.

In 2003 Ukraine was playing with Tsokur (now Makarova) as receiving Opp, Fomina as libero and the MBs received too, the OHs went out for libero in backrow. OHs were Tetyana Voronina and Olena Yena, Maryukhnich (back then her name was Manyuk) was substitute but she entered quite often for Yena.

Can somebody give some info about Marina Maryuhnich, I never watch her but her stats seems really imressive and consistent

She's born Ukrainian and played as OH in Ukraine NT in 2003, maybe also in other years but 2003 ECH was the only time I watched her there. I'm not sure if she already was MB when she came to Uralochka or if Karpol made her play that position. She is very tall (around 1.96 I think) but also rather slow, she often has to attack against double or even triple block in the middle because the sets to her are slower than to other MBs. But overall she is a good player I think...

Congrats to Eczaci plus fans :) Becoming champion is a good answer to all the people complaining about Micelli and Elif etc ;)
Senna and Büsra really did great today, but in general Eczaci played much more as team than Vakifbank and that made the difference. Glinka alone can't do everything, she is human after all.
