Not only medals count! For example the qualification of Radolsaw Kawecki in the 200m backstroke finals is huge and I would prefer such final than a medal in some shitty sport like backgammon or sth. And don't underestimate the fact that all countires in Europe and the US will have less medals than before because Asian countries like China, Japan, South Korea and even North Korea will eat their portion. The distribution of medals is changing and it will change even more in the future to the side of East Asian countries. And you have a lot of promising athletes, especially in athletics. I'm sure that one of Malachowski or Wlodarczyk or that young and talented kid on the triple jump, I remember him as Karol Wojtila or sth(ofc he's not the Pope :D ) that his father has been also a triple jumper. Even he could surprise the opposition! I don't know what happened to women's pole vault or where Sylwester Bednarek disappeared, but you have a lot of possibilities. We have one wonderful Ivet Lalova, the fastest white woman, but apart from here I doubt we'll have another finalist.

And what to say about Bulgaria? Our delegation is very small. Also so far the best achievement is the male volleyball team(you know how slim the chances are for medal) and one 40 year old man with white hair who is also a President of a Federation and is in his sixth Olympiade. He made it to the finals, heroic achievement from him, but he'll finish last there, And I expect not more than 3 medals. We are good only in two sports now. Boxing and wrestling. There we can have those 3 medals and anywhere else we're total shit!

Well, of course countries of Asia are much stronger now, than they used to be. I don't want Poles to win table tennis competition e.g, cause it is impossible because of Chinese and other Asian nations (the same in diving, female weightlifing etc. ) I mean some other sports, where we used to be good and now we suck, although Asians are not the main force there: fencing, judo, wrestling.

This triple jumper's name is Zdzisław Hofman. :) His son name is Karol. He is tallented, but I doubt, that as much as his father.

Bednarek? Injuries, injuries, injuries... The same with pole vault. Rogowska will participate in these Olympics, but it will be very difficult for her to get any medal.
I also count on Włodarczyk and Małachowski. There are our main chances in athletics. I would add also Tomasz Majewski in shot put, Paweł Fajdek in hammer throw and Adam Kszczot in 800m. We will see.

Yopu are right about Bulgaria, but it is difficult to compare our two countries. You have much less people, less athletes in London. In Poland there were/are high expectations about our performance. Our athletes had the best preparation conditions as possible and big money was put in that. So that's why a lot of people are disapointed and upset.
However - as I said before - I believe, that some medals will come soon. :)

Poland-Argentina today is the most important game for us after that defeat against Bulgarians - that's my opinion. If we beat Argentina, we can still be on the top of the group, because Great Britain and Australia are not opponents we should be scared of. So, I hope for a win and no nerves today. I believe that my single and only nightmare during the game will be Piotr Dębowski. And nothing more ;)
Brazilians crushed Russians... I didn't expect such an easy victory. But it looks like Brazil is always Brazil and you can't underestimate them, even if they seem to play worse, tahn they used to. It might be really interesting tournament.

P.S. Whistling on the other team is nothing polite and nice - that's true. However, when Bulgaria played in Poland in WL for example, Bulgarian players were always welcomed and treated with respect. This time Polish fans whistled, because of the event, which took place in Sofia in July. It is some self-turning circle, which is not easily to stop: "you did it to us, so we will do the same to you". I may not like it, but I'm not surprised with that.

What do you think about your country's performance so far?
I'm very disappointed of Poland, we don't have any reasons to be proud and happy, we're losing all the time. Silver medal from shooting is pretty lucky and unexpected. That's why its worth is bigger. We wanted to have better results than in 2008(13 or 14 medals, I don't remember), but I guess our dreams won't come true.

We won 10 medals in both Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008.
The performance of Polish sportsmen has been really bad so far (tennis, fencing :wall: ). But I still believe and hope, that better times will come for Poland in these Olympics, because we still have quite many chances.

Bulgarians may win it... They always used to play as a favorites or the team on the same level against Poland. Now nobody counts on them and I suppose they will use it. I hope I'm wrong...

    Awesome uniforms, guys

But why without Polish marks in the names? "MOZDZONEK"?, "ZYGADLO"? I do not like it. Really. And it is not for the first time. :tzz:
As for the game... It was great, for sure, also it didn't look so well in the first set. Now the game against Bulgaria, which I hope will be won as well and than we should have easier opponents.
I'm very happy with the way of play and the result, but I still know, that there will be one single game in 1/4, which will decide about everything. We may win all 5 matches in the group, we may be great and powerful. But one worse day in the quarterfinal and we can say goodbye to London. It was like that 4 years ago: we were playing really good volleyball in the group, lost only to Brazil and than this game against Italians... :aww: I hope this time we won't be stopped in the quarterfinal...

Disapointing performance by Radwańska... In Beijing 2008 she was eliminated in the 1st round. Now, when she is much, much higher in the rankings - she did the same. Well, she difinitely doesn't like to be conisdered as a favorite. She will also play doubles with her sister Urszula and maybe mixt with Fyrstenberg, but I don't thin it brings her any success.

I like the fact that the pressure for the gold is on Poland's side.

Those guys have to deal with that, It's part of the game.

I suppose they won't have such big problems with that. I think more about huge expectations of fans and media and I'm affraid of some big disapointment if something goes wrong. :S

We beginn on Sunday, against Italy. It might be an interesting match, because both teams know each other very well. I hope we will take an revange for 2008 OG 1/4 when Italy - with Anastasi as a coach - beat us 3:2, and win it. It is always important to start the tournament with the victory.

In Poland everybody wants a medal for Polish team, a lot of people dream about gold - the expectations are bigger than ever since 1976. Of course, Poland has a really good team this time and every medal is possible, but some other teams want to win it as well. I think we should calm down a little, don't put too much pressure on our players, support them - and succes MAY come. :)

    In single women's tennis

Julia Goerges is very unlucky. She will open her Olympics campaign vs Agnieszka Radwanska :(

I'd say, taht Radwańska is also quite unlucky. Of course, Goerges isn't any superstar (although a tallented one) and Radwańska beated her twice before. But I think our player could have had better draw as a girl seeded with No.2 in the tournament.

Do you still remember me? ;)
I've changed many things in my life and I'm going to come back to the forum soon. I intend to do this after Olympics or maybe a little bit earlier. See you soon! :)

    Hi,

I would like to say "goodbye" to all of you...
I won't delete my account in here, but I won't use it any more (maybe I will come back some day...).
There are many reasons... I just decided to stop. Don't ask me why, please.

I have been registered in inside-volley.com since 4 years. It was a really good time, I met nice people and had fun. That's why I didn't wont to disappear without saying "goodbye".

I would like to thank the administrators and all the users. It was great to share the passion with you.

    See you :rose: :wavy:

Amazing come back by Radwańska. Great performance in the game except the first set! And she beat Zvonereva 4th time in the row. :D
Now Agnieszka needs one set against Kvitiva to be in the semis for sure.
