I really love watching Germany. They always give thrilling games. It's just the first set of the first game of Germany and Bulgaria but both teams don't want to give it up like it's an Olympic final!

Before this match, I thought Turkey might have a slight chance of winning. Never have I expected a clean sweep victory over Japan

I assure you our government's world class in this department. They're contenders for sure.
The stream still sucks for me so I can hardly make anything out of the game but judging from the live score, it seems like Philippines is fighting to not lose this third set. They're just trailing by 2 points mostly compared to the first 2 sets where the team is just clearly dominated. -
My country needs taller MBs and more experience at this level to hang in there with bigger teams. Too bad our government cares more about corruption that sports improvement

Not expecting much from my country
The stream where I'm watching at is lagging like crazy. Could barely watch the game at all.
We can be already happy that Philippines get to participate in this tournament (thanks to being hosts). The team gets to collet a few ranking points (I think?) No shade, but the level of this tournament might be a bit too much for our team. Tunisia is currently crushing us. -
I just saw the score board for PHI vs TUN match minutes ago. Tunisia leads 12-1. Yikes.

Yes. The importance of having good backup players became glaringly obvious. Italy was lucky they won despite the injuries but they may not be next time. Ze Roberto should do the same.

Yeah, but they didn't care that much about World Grand Prix (only 2 titles), so I doubt that they went with some spectacular winning streak at any point. Overall, yeah, this is by far the greatest team ever in the 'modern' era and their domination is something that we may never see again.
True. The coach knows which competition to prioritize. I bet Brazil would trade all their countless Grand Prix titles for that 1 gold at the World Champs. The Cuban team at that time has 6 Vargas-like players playing at the same time. The power is just insane.

I mean, Orro, while being decent at best and important for Italy (we saw how Italy did when Cambi was the setter), it's just.... controversial for her to win MVP. Egonu would have been a lazy choice but I guess FIVB wants to be out of the box with the choices.

OMG! Italy was the messiest at their last 2 games but they showed their quality at the most important moments of the game. That defense at the 5th set is just... Unbelievable, incredible, crazy good. They've won Olympics and now their world champions too! This team is legendary!

Egonu is so much better this third set, thank goodness. That means a lot for Italy. And she killed some OOS balls which is commendable. It can't just be Sylla killing those when Turkey has Vargas and Ebrar who can do that.
