Seem like GS Caltex and KGC will have a trade. It was reported that trade has been agreed on and it will be announced later in the week. Not sure how many players are involved in the trade. Source: 1

KOVO today approved the establishment of Pepper Saving Bank (PSB) to be the 7th women volleyball team. Not sure how much the membership fee is but PSB will have to pay 2B KRW for the special development fund. Instead of the previous report that PSB will get the first 8 picks in the new player draft, PSB will now have the first 6 picks this year and the first 2 picks for next year draft. PSB will still need to finalise the agreement with KOVO as quickly as possible if they are to participate in the foreign players draft next week on April 28 (Wed). Sources: 1, 2, 3

Hae-Ran returns with a contract for 100M KRW (80M annual salary and options of 20M).

Besides KIM Hae-Ran, Heungkuk has renewed KIM Mi-Youn and PARK Sang Mi contract while KIM Se-Young decided to retire. Mi-Youn's new contract is for 160M KRW (130M annual salary and options of 30M) and Sang-Mi's new contract is for 90M KRW (80M annual salary and options of 10M).

KGC has retained the service of OH CHOI Eun-Ji and libero NOH Ran, both with a 1-year contract. Maybe I made a mistake reading this but surprisingly Eun-Ji's new contract is only for 80M KRW contract (annual salary). Whilst Ran's new contract is 100M KRW (75M annual salary and options of 25M)

Korea Expressway Hi-pass HA Hye-Jin and IBK Altos HAN Ji-Hyun are unsigned.

Terrible news for KGC, it seems like Valentina Diouf decided not to come back to South Korea. It was reported today that Diouf has withdrawn her application for the tryout. From what I gathered from the report, Diouf received an offer from Brazil but I am not too sure if she also recently received an offer from Italy too.

2021 Taebaeksan Cup National Boys Girls Middle High Volleyball Tournament started today but the girls' tournament will start on April 15 (Thu) and end on April 21 (Wed). Live streaming of the matches should be on AI Sports TV on Youtube.

The Girls' U16 and U19 matches will be held at Taebaek City National Sports Centre and Jangseong Gymnasium. Taebaek City Nation Sport Centre will host the Girls' U16 group A & B matches and all the Girls' U19 matches. Jangseong Gymnasium will host the Girls' U16 group C matches as well as the Girls' U16 knockout matches.

Due to a greater number of teams participating and time constraint, the group stage matches will only play up to three sets (all 25-points set).

Unfortunately, the winners from the previous tournament in March, Sunmyung Girls' High School and their feeder team Gyeonghae Girls' Middle School are absent for this tournament.

    Thanks for the info.

Anyone knows how this Coach Seo was when he coached KGC and Hipass?

I don't know much about Seo Nam-Won time at Hi-pass besides them winning the regular league in 2014-2015 and eventually losing the championship series to IBK Altos 3-0.

His time in charge at KGC was about so-so. KGC only made it to the postseason playoffs just once. He did however have better results during KOVO Cup where KGC was the runner-up in 2016 and the champion in 2018.

FYI, he was the one responsible that changes HAN Soo-Ji position from a setter to an opposite hitter and then to a middle blocker.

It seems like the rules regarding the re-signing of foreign players might have changed. Previously, after playing for two seasons a foreign player who wished to play for another season must go into the draft lottery draws again. This means that any of the six teams could select them. However, from reading some of the articles that out today about LSY transfer to KGC, I am now getting the impression that KGC can re-sign Diouf again before the draft lottery draws.

There's an article released today that Lee Soyoung sign with KGC. Already confirmed by KGC through their Ig. She must have receive a big offer there

KGC signed LEE So-Young on a 650M KRW contract (approx. $576,660 USD) for 3 years. The breakdown of the contract is an annual base salary of 450M KRW and options of 200M KRW.

GS Caltex Head Coach Cha Sang-Hyun :aww: :wall: ;(

How much does the foreign player get paid in the league? If not mistaken local players get much higher than them

For a new player in their 1st season, they get 200K USD. For a player in their 2nd season (or more), they get 300K USD. Bonuses for a win, a player can get between 300~1,000 USD (decided by the team). Players will also be provided with a maximum of 3 return airfare tickets (1 for player and 2 for family) and accommodation.
