Im sorry, but Im just gonna give my humble opinion, leaving aside my passion for volley.

Russia should have been banned from this Olympics!

Again, aside from my passion for volley, we have to see the big picture of whats going on here. Its was ( and Im using the word "was', because Im assuming they have eliminated such a disgusting program already) DOPING PROGRAM ran by the RUSSIAN GOUVERMENT... For god's sake!!! could it be anything worse than that??? A Program paid and sponsored by its government!!!

Whats next now ? Whats the lesson and message the IOC ( which for me are a bunch of cowards by taking this pathetic decision) towards the world of sports in regards to doping/??? Well, obviously theres a clear message , and that message is that: if you're a re- known nation in the world who have had quite significant impact in the sport history , It' will be ok if we catch you doing something wrong, you know. Just make sure you do those "improper" things well, and nothing will happen to you. . IOC and a lot sports entities definitely need a tough hand toward the wrong doing , like the Russian case is>

I guess Im gonna be watching within 12 days the olympics from living-room this summer , and of course, every time I see a Russian athlete win a medal ( whichever one) , Doubts are gonna be crossing my mind just thinking whether that athlete is doped , or not.

    Very sad all this.

Russia should be punished and that should be it.
I have just read an articule from EL PAIS, where they described how the process was for the athletes testing in Sochi, and how Russians authorities covered up hundreds of positive examples of urine... It was just like reading a Gangsters Hollywood story....
Its just disgusting they way they managed everything... At the same time I feel profoundly sorry for those athletes who have been trying to stay away from it, but allowing them to compete under Russia's flag would create a huge precedent ( a dark one) for the history of the Olympic Committee...
    #banrussia.

oh my... whats happening is quite shocking. It seems that Russian State was supporting and financing doping substances to its athletes....How will all this end up? What an embarrassment for such a great nation....
Not cool ....

Lol seriously dude , your comment is so pathetic .
As I said before , move on , solve your own problems and stop blaming Americans for all the mess done by the Russian federation . :win:

so typical american nobody knows what is going on but americans allready know they are doping even thought nobody said a word there is a reason rest of the world is tired of your crap maybe u should let the rest of the world inspect your athlethes and not doing self inspections and say trust us we have best anti doping methods and then 5 or 10 years later your athlethes coming out with guilty councious and saying that they were doping the whole time there is no difference between russia and usa just americans are getting away with doping imo

    Quoted from "Emurock"

The enjoyment of this sport and many others is being destroyed by the USA. Just cause the USA is at war with Russia doesn't mean I have to be screwed over just because Americans are such sore losers.

Its clear that WADA and most international sporting bodies act as proxies for the USA. Much like the EU acts as a proxy for the USA. That is why the ENTIRE Russian Athletics Federation is currently banned. We can look forward to the main blue ribbon event in Rio being the men's 100m where there will be no Russian competitors (none would make the final even without the ban) and most likely two American convicted cheats lining up in the final. "No doping in sport", if only. Very much a political statement, not a moral one.

If Russia is suppose to be this "Mafia state" the Americans keep talking about then when is the blow back about to happen, when do the figurative American bodies start floating down the river?

Couldn't be more agree with you ...

You shouldn`t point the finger on other nations, your problems are to big.

Remember... Swimming World Championchips Kazan 2015 - Yuliya Yefimova- dug taker - got suspended in 2014, but suddenly her punishment got reduced, that she could taking part at the Home World Champs in Kazan. Why? Because Russia had a lot of influnced in the decisions by the FINA.
Now, in March, Yuliya Yefimova was caught again by taking Meldonium.... This Girl is a bit stupid, but that`s another Point

Look in all the IAAF-Cases about Russian Athlets, who have taken drugs for years, and wasn`t caught by the Russian Doping Angency . and if they were caught by any foreign Doping Agency, Money could solve the Problem, cause Russian Officails had good connection in the Federation.

If Gamova or Startseva have taken sth, we don`t know, but it is urious, that both don`t play in the most imposrtant Game of the year. If it was food poisoning, why only at both - only at the Best PLayers??? It is to curious, especially after the Case with Gazprom-Yugra, who didn`t play without 4 of their best Player against Berlin at home (incl. a curious explanation by the Coach). Actually, one have to be stupid to take sth in this times, but Yulia Yefimova was also stupid (again).

And that the English Doping Agency is now controlling the Russian Athlets, it doesn`t sounds good, cause we have heard last week, that this Agency is not trustworthy

and here goes another comment full of rhetoric and senseless. Stop blaming the U.S. of your own problems.

Brain-washed by Western media... Has no idea what happens in Russia, but of course US tv has shown all the real truth... Government here wouldn't care, as they don't now. Coordinated system to cheat... Such high words! This meldronat is the most ridiculous thing to be called doping ever and yes it was US Olympic comitee who sanctioned it to be called doping, just because this medicine is so popular in post-Soviet areas. WADA is being totally in control by North-Americans, so US athletes are so rare to be tested and positive tests wouldn't get public anyway. Just a very rare ones. And of course it's a very useful political element now. All the evil in the world is coming from Russia, of course, as it has always been. But it's a law of life - the strong ones eat the weak ones, so Russian athletes have to suffer for what politicians are doing. But some bucketheads here are starting to assume that if Kosheleva is injured, she's probably using doping. Probably not everyone has to have a brain, tv pretty much does the job.

laughing out loud here .... Don't know why, but I knew your answer before your reply to the couple of comment regarding the Russians and their doping cases . Again, answer full of Cold War rethoric and one side think of any issue. Just one more thing , as this page is not about politics but about volleyball . Ask your self who's the truly brained - washed tho... :win:

So will the USA be pushing hard now for the Russian Men's volleyball team to be kicked out of the Rio Olympics? Seems the USA won't be happy until all Russians are excluded from Rio. American decline is worse than I thought, the fading of empire is so rapid. I wonder what the blow back will be on the USA? Russia must eventually return fire on the USA in this war America seems so desperate to fight(Why would the USA wants another war when they always lose them and so publicly as well).

Seriously ... This is the most ridiculous comment I've read on this forum ... What does America has to do with the lack of professionalism and mess oft he Russian Federation ??? Oh, let me think , as an old proverb says : blame someone else of your own problems ...give me a break , Move on , and go with your absurd and nonsense rhetoric to somewhere else .

Ps: just to clarify, this comment goes directly to the blogger who posted above post. As An American , I have a great respect for the Russian people and their strong history and culture in sports .

For gods sake ! Regardless what he has said or though, he brought the first major women volleyball title in the USA's history ! ...
As he well said on that interview , decisions are hard to make and one never will get everyone's approval.
I do think he has done a great job as a coach, bringing a lot of speed to the game consolidating the USA as real volleyball power house.

    Still strong team though... :obey:

nope...it was in 1996 world grand prix....i think they are testing back then the libero setup......the libero uniform back they wear a black vest on the top of their uniform with
a letter big L..at the back..and nikulina wore that in one of the leg in the world grand prix...

Thank you for the clarification 8)
