LOL when I try to go to
https://info.hangzhou2022.cn/e…eyball/daily-schedule.htm
I get this message:
Your IP address has recently been involved in suspicious attacks and has been blacklisted
Is anybody in charge of finding streams for this
::cough::@Julian::cough::
I guess we hope for QQ to come through , assuming the matches are even streamed somewhere they can steal from
I was blacklisted yesterday but today I’m ok.
Nothing coming through in terms of live stream

benchwarmer Julian Chow I guess you don't know that her dad is a high-ranking official in the PLA. Bayi even cut the coach instead of her when there was a dispute and she bragged about it.
I’ve heard it being mentioned by netizens but I wasn’t sure whether they were just rumour or otherwise. But if she is so brazen to brag about it, then it must be true. For me the fortunes of the NT team is more important than anyone, high ranking or not and whoever is responsible for its failure must face the consequences. I’m afraid they might 担当唔起 (as they say in Cantonese).
Of course I’m still hoping the team wins Gold, then WYL and dad are happy... then she leaves the NT, and we are happy. However, there could be another, unthinkable outcome, which I won’t mention here, in case I upset everyone

Hehe thanks for the information. Do you think they are strong enough to be able to defeat India? I am really clueless about these low-tier or mid-tier Asian teams tbh:)
We haven’t seen N Korea play for around 4 years now so it’s hard to gauge their standard. India, on the other hand has been participating in regional tournaments and their skills have been improving gradually. In May, they won the 2023 CAVA Challenge Cup by beating Kazakhstan 3-0. I think they are stronger than N Korea, but it certainly would be an intriguing encounter and the most interesting match of the opening day’s schedule. I’m looking forward to it.
* CAVA is the Central Asian Volleyball Association which comprise member countries from Central and South Asia.

North Korea is the most isolated nation on earth by far. I really wonder if there is someone from North Korea visiting this forum (not necessarily a member of the board). What do you think of the possibility for this?
Lolss.. I don’t think so, but you never know... their leader Kim Jong Un could be a guest or a contributer, using a pseudonym of course. The guy is a sports fan, esp. basketball and can speak English, even some German I heard. He studied in Switzerland for 5 years.

Anyone know something about North Korea team? They are back after 4 years!
Yes, the last time we saw them was in Vietnam, 4 years ago, playing in the VTV Cup.
I’m not sure if anyone outside of N Korea is familiar with this team. Jong Jin Sim, their most popular player is not in the team
A complete list of the players can be found in post #28 above...

Watching the men's vb final was depressing, and the cyclists in track cycling also didn't do well. 😕
But at least they're winning many events in swimming.. 🏅 🥇 🏅 🥇....
Also, our swimmers are so pleasant looking like 'Butterfly Queen' Zhang Yufei 张雨霏 who is the darling of the swimming fans and 18yo Yu Yiting 余依婷

Cai Bin, WYL and the Asian Games
The women’s volleyball tournament will start in 2 days time and it looks like CB will be there with WYL despite all that’s said here and elsewhere. Their ‘story’ likely began early last year. It could be that someone was keen to see WYL in the 2022 Asian Games. It’s always an honour to represent your country, and extra special when you’re the host. What more when they have a good chance of winning gold. However, WYL needed to be in the A team first, so she was picked for the VNL, despite never ever impressing anyone with her skills, even in the CVL. However the Games were unexpectedly postponed till 2023, and WYL was back in the VNL 2023, despite performing poorly in 2022.
CB probably thinks LYY, Gong, WYY and a few others would be good enough to win matches, so WYL played in the VNL and OQT, with the Asian Games being the main target. Why did CB leave out outstanding players like Zhuang YS and randomly picked some other players to make up the team ? I think it’s just to make WYL look good and keep her in the starting six. If Zhuang YS was there, It would be hard to explain why WYL is playing.
We don’t know what exactly happened, but eventually the truth will come out. There is a Chinese proverb.... 纸包不住火 - Paper cannot wrap fire.
Win gold or not, I hope it’s the last time we see CB (& WYL). Please, just leave the job of qualifying for the Olympics to real coaches and our top players.

China vs Iran in the Asian Games Men's Volleyball gold medal match tonight 🏅... 1930 gmt+8. Will post links (if any) in the Asian games thread.
Yesterday, in the S-finals, China beat Japan 'B' team 3-0.
Iran 3:1 China
Iran is a higher ranked team, so it's not a big surprise, but how many times have China taken taken a 1:0 or 2:0 lead but eventually lose the match ?

I think the stats only tell half the story... the problems she created affect the overall performance and team morale. She disrupts the flow and rhythm of the team. Setters avoid her and as a result LYY is exhausted by being overused and is always targeted by blockers.
This was what happened in the last point in the 5 setter against Canada. People are saying the ball should've gone to Wu in position 4 instead of LYY for a backrow attack... but for Diao, WYL was the one usually there (position 4) and she (Diao) was just instinctively, avoiding WYL, not realising Wu had replaced her.

Wu Meng-jie joined Team A too late.
We all knew that Wu MJ is a much better option, I suspect even CB knows. Maybe he’s under some sort of obligation to let WYL play every match, which resulted in the mess we’re in now. I hope they launch an inquiry into his actions, and also demand some answers from CVA. I think they underestimated the importance of team’s performance to millions of fans in China and elsewhere.
Had Wu started earlier, we would have a good chance against Canada, Ned and Dom... I wouldn’t say we definitely can win all 3 matches, but 2/3 is possible, and certainly 1/3. We could’ve qualified for Paris24 already.
I don’t want to see CB as the NT coach again, beginning with the Asian games....

If anybody is up for watching some Uni girls swing like Gabi at OOS balls (and have a vtv subscription), one of the Kyushu Block Round Empress Cup Finals is on right now between Fukuoka University and (next in line for V.League) Fukuoka Girasol
I think Fukuoka has a chance to win All Japan this year. They came in 3rd last year and are intact except for one OH. One of favorite Uni girls is #2 Miyu Kawazoe. Smart setter, Hulk Smashing MBs, and a ferocious little OP. They're all super adorable, too. Ask Julian Chow
Indeed ! It's fun watching them with their youthful exuberance

We hope CB won’t be so cruel to these star players GXY, WMJ and LYY especially. He ran them to the ground. Someone from the top of Chinese Volleyball Federation should overrule him if he does try to play these players. No sense to let them play the last match.
They won't overrule him, if they wanted to they could have done it a year ago. They are themselves responsible for this mess. I suspect LP, ZT and some others know about the situation there... thats why they distance themselves from the NT.
