    that's fair... (but I would say 7 blocks on 44 attacks is bad).

    Voronkova doesnt cover all of Ecza's weaknesses. I dont think they'll be unbeatable.

    To be fair, even legends like Larson and KYK couldn't cover all Ecza's weaknesses. I don't see somehow Voronkova can make this team unbeatable.

    But as a fan in general, would like to see Ecza levels up and give Vakif some challenges.

    More rumours ?

    it's the same rumor that keeps going around in Chinese internet.

    I wouldn't take it serious because the whole video doesn't provides any new and reliable news but a bunch of he said, she said and some fakes news such as Italian journalist has confirmed LYY's transfer etc.

    I remember this episode.

    It's right after Novara lost to Moscow in CL and won Bergamo in Seria A. Britt Herbots father posted a comment under the FB account of Volley News, saying "Why Britt never gets a fair chance to play. Lavarini is at zero and hasn't won anything in 3 years. and there was no answer....." .

    It was a big thing in italian volleyball world cause not everyday you see a parent of player publicly diminishing and doubting the ability of head coach.

    Nice video BTW, What a beast !!

    It's Viscioni.

    good match between italy and netherlands

    Nl win 3rd set but italy 2-1 ahead

    Do you know how is the criteria of qualificqtion for european champs?

    I think even the head coach of under-age team, Mencarelli, is not so sure himself. He made Ituma play OH for the whole season in Club Italia in A2 and four months ago in the qualification competitions Ituma played OH. Then suddenly 3 months later, Ituma played OPP again in EYOF(with different coach). Curious how she will play in U19 tho.

    If they play the way they did at the EYOF, that won't be the case. Ituma played as a pure OPP and Viscioni was converted to an OH. I would rather have Merit as backup OPP (just like they did with Ituma for the WCH u20 last year) with the U19 given how much potential she's shown already. That would also give Vighetto the opportunity to show her skills. She was the MVP of the Italan U16 and played great, but when it comes to NT she has always played badly so far.

    I think the backup opp for Ituma did good in EYOF when she came in the court. Merit definitely have a bright future, maybe we will see her in the WCH U20 next year like they did with Ituma.

    As for Vighetto, i saw her played in the Italian U16 too and she did great. But opp like her that has mediocre jumping ability is not gonna work in international level.(Same goes to Diop. Antropova has the height of 202 cm to compensate that). That girl jumps like Diouf. She reminds me of Giacomello of the 2004 generation.

    Sorry for all the early judgement tho. I really hope Ituma could make it as opp or OH. She is a rare Italian player who combines height, jump ability and powerful strength, would be a pity to see her "waste" these talents.

    You guys are too quick to judge. The girl is 17yo and she's not that bad as OPP. I'd agree, tho, that she's better off as non-receiving OH because her spiking ability from the left side is just better and because it's what Italy needs. I hope she can be included in the wider roster for the VNL next year. Also hoping that Antropova could that too (not sure if restoring her Italia sports nationality is enough to play for NT?). That would give Egonu a well-needed break and test if Antropova really is thr next big thing.

    I have no doubt Antropova is the next big thing. For the last season, she is the second best opp in Seria A after Egonu. Apart from having the second best attacking successful/efficiency rate, she is the best opp in term of serving and blocking. And she done that when she was just 18 y/o. Hopefully, she could play for Italian NT soon, such good talent should shine on international competitions.

    Lubian is a lost cause? you're jocking i hope!!! Marina Luabian was excellent this vnl and is joining the italian roster for the senior Wchp 2022.

    This is kind of off topic but i would say Lubian once was a promising MB for Italy and then turned out to be a so so player with terrible blocking. Her blocking is pure terrible,,, she has one of the worst blocking statistic among MBs in seria A. That's why Mazzanti didn't bring her to any big competition since 2019. I think Mazzanti only brings her to WCH this year simply because Fahr is injured and the team need a serving substitute. She is young and still have time to improve but i don't see any chance she could start in NT one day as long as her blocking remain the same.

    yes she's so good,i don't know why she isn't considered in NT

    And i hope ituma change to oh,she's bad as opp

    Exactly,for some reason she hasn't play any international games so far despite being the best MB of the generation. I think she is what NT need, who has aggressive slide attack and decent block. Chirichella need a young backup MB in NT, considering Lubian is a lost cause.

    Let's see how Ituma performs in U19, I don't have high hope for her as opp anyway.....

    Italy's roster - 15 players.

    S: Viola Passaro, Ilaria Batte

    OPP: Julia Ituma,Arianna Gambini,Virginia Adriano

    OH: Dominika Giuliani, Giulia Viscioni, Lisa Esposito,Nicole Piomboni

    MB: Matilde Munarini , Princess Atamah Omonigho, Nausica Acciarri,Nicole Modesti

    Libero: Anna Bardaro, Manuela Ribechi

    Hopefully Atamah doesn't get cut this time, she is the best MB of this generation who is able to do decent slide, which is very rare in Italy.

    Egonu has dominated club volleyball in recent years with the teams builded around her. She had incredible impacts at crucial moments in almost every cup she won. If she didn't, her teams wouldn't have been so successful. It was a little silly to say Egonu always chokes at cruical moments. since she sometimes makes silly mistakes, people underestimate her level in crucial moments. in club volleyball, She plays as well as Boskovic and much better than Haak in crucial games.

    It's not fair to say that Egonu chokes at crucial moments. There are reasons why she already got two CEV Championship and two MVP under her name with two different clubs. I just wanna quota what Giudetti said about Egonu recently.

    "All the greatest athletes are defended and blocked in the same way by the various teams. There is a system to stop Boskovic, another to defend against Haak. For Egonu each team changes system because no one has yet found a way to stop it. Nothing ever works and everyone tries to find a different way. Everyone has failed and everyone continues to change - then concluding - she is an extraordinary striker, she is the only other in the world so I have never seen her in my life. "

    Hope Egonu could improve her blocking skill under Giudetti's training, since it's what Giudetti's good at. She was a good blocker once in Novara and then got weaker in Conegliano. Now her blocking is disastrous as a top level opp. If she could regain her blocking skill, the blocking-duo of her and Günes will definitely make the majority of OHs suffer.

    Mazzanti called 14 players to train for WCH. I think it's already the final roster for WCH if no one get injured.

    Palleggiatrici: Alessia Orro e Ofelia Malinov;

    Schiacciatrici: Myriam Sylla, Elena Pietrini, Caterina Bosetti e Alessia Gennari;

    Opposti: Paola Egonu e Sylvia Nwakalor;

    Centrali: Marina Lubian, Cristina Chirichella, Anna Danesi e Sara Bonifacio;

    Liberi: Monica De Gennaro e Eleonora Fersino.

    i think Julia Ituma is a good promising player for Italy, i hope she could decided to play as a wing spiker, she just need to improve her skills as a receiver. After that there's another excellent prospect for Italy as opposite or wing spiker, is the younger Merit Edwidge, she is only 15 years old and very powerful player, she reminds me the best Cuban players of the 90's.

    Yes, Merit Edwidge surprised me in the CEV U17 tournament. Even though she is relatively short as opp, only 183cm, but she shows great potential to be a good opp one day. She achieved 52% of successful attacking rate in the final round, the only OH/OPP to make it above 50%. However she is only 15 y/o.,,, I remembered ituma being a mess as a 15 y/o opp two years ago.

    I don't know much about the Cuban players of the 90's but i am fully in awe of their legendary success.

    I hope these girls stay healthy and live up to their potential one day. Before competing with Egonu, they still need to compete with Antropova first LOL. Antropova - 2003, Ituma - 2004, Edwidge - 2006, the competition is going to be wild....

    Isn't a bit too soon to call a 17 yo player useless or that she does not have abig future as opp? Yeah, her error margin is quite high but a girl who can scores 27 points in a final is not someone you can take lightly. Egonu in the U17 didnt also have much ball control but she improved a lot for the U18 and made into the senior national team the following year. Every player has their own developing trajectory. You can call them bad/good/useless when they are actually fully developed player but is it okay when they're just teens?

    You are right, it's too soon to determine that.

    TBH, I followed her game from 3 years ago. She never convinced me that she is a proper opp. This final with 27 points is the only one game that she actually did good when competing against strong team. Her performance in the semi was just catastrophic .

    If you watch her attacking from position 4, you would agree that she is a powerful weapon as OH. She could spike the ball higher and stronger from position4. I think she could be the Mihajlović of Italy one day if she keeps playing OH. Her out-of-system attack from position 4 is already better than Sylla and (possibly) Pietrini.

    Let's wait and see her performance in the CEV U19 and FIVB U20 next year. I definitely don't mind her turning into another powerful opp one day and smack me right in the face :D

    I watched little bit of that game. It looked like the Italian team was better coached then the Turkish team. The Italian girls were taken their times when they were serving, while the Turkish girls were way to anxious

    Ituma took a century to prepare her serving and then served into net LOL.

    I didn't expect Italy to win over Türkiye in the final given their unstable passing and Ituma being a mess. But who knows Ituma can score 27 points as opp in the final, her previous performance was just terrible...

    Kudos to Viscioni who won the best opp in FIVB U18 last year and spent a whole season playing OH after, now she is the best OH of this generation. Her spiking is not that powerful but she is very versatile and fast.
