Greece - HVL 2009/2010

    Panathinaikos played a really great match.Samica is a very powerfull and clever player.Agamez as always :box: .I hope this season the rest players of the team can help him.I don't want to remember the last season with Herpe and Andrae.They had been the most weak athletes that passed from our club.Zagumny will help us very much this year,too.

    I don't know what wrong you saw in Andrae. In fact, he is a very athletic player and has a great swing. He is relatively stable in reception and has a good attack. I don't know whether he showed these skills during the whole season with PAO last year, but the games I saw in the IECL with his participation were good enough. Herpe is not that impressive for sure, but it's your opinion indeed whether you like Andrae or not :)

    That is no true.Andrae did not help Panathinaikos at all.Neither in CEV Cup against Cuneo when Herpe played his best game neither in the play- offs of the Greek championship.Last season i watched almost all the matches of the team.Andrae has been the worst outside hitter that passed ever from the club.For that reason we had lost every title from Olympiakos.Agamez could not play for all the team even he was winning almost 30 points in every match.It's like the game of the national team of Russia in women with Gamova in the same role.They always lose the important games...

    Last Friday EA Patron played with some guys with blue shirts and won easily. That's right, Iraklis' players never showed up. It was like a magician made them disappear and replaced them with a bunch of people with blue shirts, who pretended they were playing volleyball.
    That's the worst performance I've ever seen from my team. Not because we lost, but because our players never challenged the opponent, they were just waiting for the inevitable. We had nothing. No reception, no blocking, no defence, no tactical serving, no game strategy. Nothing.


    I don't know what's happening but instead of getting better, we play worse and worse. There are already some rumours about our coach, Harry Brokking. I've read that if the team doesn't show some improvement in the next 2-3 weeks, he will be fired.

    They have long season ahead and we'll have to wait ot understand what is their material. last year Patra was going pretty well before the contusion of Yordanov. They may have the power to win some cup if their form last :)

    You are right about that.


    I just believe that EA Patron has some obvious weaknesses. Their middle blockers are not good enough and they have problems with their reception. In some games Zhekov plays always with Yordanov (because of the bad reception) and it is easy for other teams to stop him.

    In theory they have 3 good outside hitters but if Patron is unable to use their power, you are right that one player can not win alone game. He can decide the crucial points, but not score them all. If there is some hope it is that Jekov is very good setter for weak reception. In this ECH Bulgaria had pathetic reception in most of the games but still we were one of the best and we were very close to gold (a complex from Poland away). Something rather new in volleyball, I think, thanks to Prandi and Jekov (and some monster hitters of ours). He has the potential too pull hard matches, but I don't know would this be enough.
