  • Weber and Armoa analize the Finals of the ACLAV A1 Men Teams Nativa Nación Card League

This Thursday will start the 2009/10 Final Series of the ACLAV Argentine A1 Men Teams Nativa Nación Card League between Drean Bolívar and UPCN Voley Club. Both Head Coaches in advance make an analize of the Final Series of the tournament for both teams and the clues of the rival team.

    2010-03-23 | http://www.aclav.com

    - How does your team arrive with reference to its playing level?

FA: Good. We have the same level we played most of the tournament, with the same figures.

JW: The team is in great shape. Nearly sure much better than on the Regular Season. More consolidated. It is a team four year old that knows exactly what are the important moments in the competition. And this is the moment.

    - How is the team?

FA: In the best way. We do not have any injured players and they are very motivated as we qualified for the Final Series and there is not any possible better motivation than to reach this goal.

JW: We have had different moments as we have many players from the Argentine Men Team. At the beginning of the tournament we suffered some but after the end of the year 2009 with some rest and a good preparation for the Play-Offs we stand at a very good level.

    - What is the best of the team?

FA: That it fights every ball, that never gives up even when things do not turn as they wished. They have a minimum high playing level and it is consolidated as team but always looking forward to improve and stand better, even though it is a team with only one league.

JW: It has a very important performance level. With four years in their shoulder, they know each other very good and that helps to know what is the best and worst of each of the players and we know how to handle when the pressure comes, as in this Final Series.

    - What is the best of the rival team?

FA: Individually they have a great ability over all the other players and about the minimum playing level, Bolívar stands one step higher than any other team. Also, they have four years of hard working behind them with the same players and in the best conditions with good players and a great coaching team.

JW: It is a team that joint to be champions and they played very good along the competition. They deserve to be at the Final Series. They have three outstanding foreign players, one of the setters of the Argentine Men Team, Leo Patti - who is in the Final Series of all the Leagues, Porporatto ... they have a very rich team and a great coach as it is Fabián. I am a little worried about their power serving and their great blocking and we will have to be able to stop them. It will be a long and fought series and that makes me very happy as people will enjoy a great final series with a great level on both teams.

    - How do you believe it will be the series?

FA: I can not imagine it, but I understand each ball will be very fought. I think we will be playing chess in each match. It will be very fought, because there are two teams with great spiking and do not allow double playing. Then, each one will see how they can get advantages.

JW: As I mentioned before, long and fought. It will be hard all the way. We will have to maintain the level in each set and each match. Final matches are so. I am sure the best two teams reached this instance and it is a final deserved and a great show for volleyball lovers.

  • The team coached by Javier Weber obtained for fourth consecutive time the crown of the best Argentine men teams competition after defeating in the fifth Final Series Match UPCN Voley 3-0 (25-22, 25-19 y 26-24). Wallace was the best scorer of the night with 22 points while Gabriel Arroyo was named the MVP of the Final Series.

The first set was a real battle. Both teams showed their best output playing at a great level, specially digging. Drean Bolívar got a light two point lead that could maintain through out the set with San Juan team battling each ball. Wallace was the best spiker and William gave him most of the balls (scoring 7 points). Four aces also helped the team supported by about 2,000 local fans, all dressed up with light blue jerseys (the color of the team) thanks to a sponsor. Joel and Suguinha nearly leveled the set 20-19 but with Filardi's ace the set closed 25-22.

On the second set it was the visiting team that got an advantage from the start. The team coached by Armoa seemed to get the set but Drean Bolívar leveled 17-17 and thereafter got the lead to finish winning 25-19.

On the third and last set, Bolívar showed the best performance, without ups and downs, of the season but UPCN did not give away and kept fighting. The final was very exciting with the set leveled 22-22, 23-23, 24-24 to end with a shout all over República de Venezuela Stadium when the set closed 26-24 and the series 4-1 for the local team.
