    Losing at home against a weakened Friedrichshafen is a bad sign for Berlin and i do hope they can improve and that there will be more than 3 matches.

    Next match will take place on Wednesday, 20 CET, in Friedrichshafen.

    I think VB can play better in the middle of the net, both with MB and OH's. I expect Bratoev to stop kill himself mindlessly in the block, he was pretty good in spiking this season, it is not the time to ruin it.

    Taking into account that middle attack was not existent for VfB (2 points in 5 sets), the numbers for the wing spikers are still OK.


    In an interview, Jovovic ist saying that he is "hopeful" that he can "help" the team already on Wednesday. But as a pulled abdominal muscle is a very tricky injury for a volleyballer, i guess, we will just see him in some backrow rotations.

    Berlin just won the first set 30:28. Jovovic not playing for VfB.

    The second set goes to Friedrichshafen 27:25


    I can't remember a middle attack by VfB in this set ?( , but therefore, Simeonov is absolutely on fire.

    16:14 for Berlin but somehow they can't keep VfB on distance. They will have to ask themselves a lot of questions, if they still lose tonight....

    Congrats Berlin. We will have, at least, four matches.

    Both teams played better than in the first match. Middle attack worked better for VfB this time, but it didn't help. Deserved victory for Berlin, they stayed calm in the decisive moments and served much better than last Sunday.


    Next match will take place on Saturday, 19.30 CET, in Berlin.

    I didn't understand Lebedew's MVP choice. I watched only 4th set and parts of 1st - 3rd, but to me Bratoev looked like the weakest link in VfB. His reception is always a problem, but today he didn't make up for it in other elements either...

    Well, i think the coaches don't take that nomination too seriously, directly after the match. Grebennikov missed some defendable ba..s :mad: today, so maybe Günthör/Simeonov would have been the right choice ?( .


    Moculescu picked Kromm as MVP, whose reception numbers were even worse than Bratoevs :rolleyes:

    There are no news concerning the physical state of Jovovic. I guess they will decide very shortly before the match, if he can play or not. Zimmermann hasn't played bad so far in the finals, but a healthy Jovovic imo would raise VfBs level remarkably.


    Unfortunately i won't be able to watch...........

    Tonight, 20 CET: 4th match of german play-off finals is taking place :box:


    Will it already be the last match? For Berlin it is a championship game whereas Vfb will try hard to bring it to a fifth game in Berlin.


    For VfB, Jovovic is still questionable, although the club is stating that he might be able "to help partially", whatever that means. We will see on the pitch tonight. His injury came to the most unconvenient time for VfB and without him, they will need a much better match in serve/reception to bring it to a decider in Berlin.


    A newspaper is reporting that Berlin is evaluating a bid for next cl final 4 :super: . Great news, although they would still have to invest in the team so that it can make sense. Max-Schmeling-Halle would be a very good venue (and my chance, to wittness great volleyball live 8) )

    I hope it's true. The F4 was in Poland and Italy (close to or in central Europe) when I couldn't attend and Omsk and Ankara respectively when I could. I was hoping it would be somewhere inside Europe in 2015, so I could also watch it live. If they really get it, they should be fine as a host, the home crowd will help them fight as much as possible. Whether they could make an eventual final is a totally different story :)


    On an off topic, the hall in Berlin should be the main venue for Germany in the World League as well, the halls in Bremen/Frankfurt/Stuttgart are often not full and lack atmosphere.

    Oh, i missed that info. Bad luck, i hope it works out well for Jovovic. Otherwise we might see setting from position 3, like in good old school volleyball days ^^

    Berlin took the second set, now its level at 9:9.
    Harms and Gergye are playing now for Bratoev and Geiler and they are doing quite well at the moment. It is kind of a wild game now, Jovovic clearly has physical problems.
