Hawai'i beats Penn State in 5 (25-20, 25-23, 16-25, 23-25, 15-10).

As expected defending Champions Hawai'i will face UCLA in the final Championship match on staturday.

I hope it goes to Hawaii again.

I hope it goes to Hawaii again.
Why?
-
Yes, UCLA's head coach is also the coach of the USA Men's NT.
-
It'll most likely be Hawai'i again. Comparing starting lineups,
S: Thelle > Rowan (just a freshman)
OPP: Mouchlias (more experienced) > Ido
OH: Chakas / Galloway > Knight / Champlin (the later is the better OH for UCLA, Knight is just meh. Neither are USA NT material for me)
MB: Voss / Hogland > McHenry / Genis (McHenry can compete Hawai'is two middles, but Genis is nonexistent)
L: Sheward > Gooch
-
Why?
I like them more.

Surprisingly Knight stepped it up and Speraw made the right choice bringing in J.R Norris. His contributions helped them A LOT. Ido with his heavy hand just hammers the ball. Big props to freshman setter Rowan who wasn't even supposed to play this season until their veteran setter Miles Partain decided to leave and focus on beach volleyball. He's going to be the future of USA setting.
My heart goes to my alma mater Hawai'i, they gave it their all and left it all on the court. Mouchlias, Thelle, Hogland will all be missed next year. Despite this seasons loss next year they'll come back with more fire!

So sorry for Hawaii. That 5 sets game against Penn State probably tired them too much. UCLA was simply better in the game.

U r sad but look Momo is happy 😁 because of UCLA win:
-
Heartbreak for Hawaii. They didn’t get their three-peat. Judging by the pattern, UCLA will win again next year. 😂

The last time that happened was 40 years ago with UCLA and it wasn't just a three-peat, it was a four-peat (1981-1984). Karch was playing for them at the time. lol

Even more iconic, he won a his first Gold medal right after college at LA 1984 (same year Lang Ping also won Gold on the women's side).
