Artemis bumps Kurashiki out of 1st place :( but Kurashiki is one match (only 2 points) behind, and they face off next weekend

  • BA is playing their reserve setter no 23?

    She's also very good 👍

Edit: but she needs to improve her serves

I missed this yesterday. She came in mid set 2 and finished the game. She's the first backup setter to ever do that, I think, in the 4-5 years Miho has been there

Hiromi Tagawa came from 9-Ball. A couple years with Champions Panasonic Bluebells, then a loaner year with Saitama, then back to the Bluebells for a couple years, and now BA. She's pretty good. There are a lot of good setters in 9-ball, but it's a different game when you have FIVE attackers in the front row :rolll:

  • Breath Hamamatsu v Sendai Live

It's typical V2 single stationary end of court camera but the arena is lit well so it looks nice

FIVE attackers in front, and three more doing back row attacks ? =O

No wonder, setters there become so skillful, practice makes perfect :)

Btw, just want to confirm this, for 9 ball, there’s no rotation right ?

  • Btw, just want to confirm this, for 9 ball, there’s no rotation right ?

correct. you can stand wherever you want. you can serve and run up to the net

my favorite rule is a block touch counts as first contact so whoever chases it down has to set it. Good passers in 9-ball too :rose:

  • Gunma is such a jumbled mess :white: Hayashida is back at MB, their other libero is setting, Kikuchi at OH. Too weird :aww:

Too bad Hamamatsu started the season poorly. Not likely they can make Final 3

1 & 2 will be Himeji and Brilliant Aries. Gunma could sneak in on Gifu for 3rd because Gifu's two last matches are against Himeji

Too bad Sendai didn't win the match. It would have made things so much cleaner. Now Gunma has a chance of sneaking into the Final 3. They are one win behind Gifu, and Gifu still has to play Himeji twice. What a haunter for Gifu

Weird for Hamamatsu to go full set with GSS. Too bad the stream was awful or I would have watched it. Alongside Wakaizumi, Tsukuba alum Kyomi Hayakawa (OH) is coming into her own. Ranking in reception and back attack, she's been consistently hitting in the 40s for the past month or two

I don't know what will become of Kanoa any more. Big disappointment for me this year. I honestly thought they might go undefeated this year, based on watching them play not on their social media posts. Oops!

After seeing Kurashiki win that PVL tournament I'm not surprised they are doing as well as they are, but Artemis is a surprise

  • I noticed the teams do better if I can watch them play... :|

btw the Thai League is coming to an exciting conclusion today with unbeaten Diamond Food (with OP Misaki Yamauchi) meeting Nakhon Ratchasima (with L Kotoe Inoue).. I'll be posting a link* to the match starting around midnite SF time .. :)

    * in Asian Women's V updates...

Dang. I'm a Sendai fan but they are really playing the spoilers here. They lose to Gunma yesterday and whoop Gifu today. I'm afraid that seals Gifu's fate. Looks like it will be Gunma v Brilliant Aries for the chance to play Himeji. Gifu will go home

    I can't explain any of this ?(

  • Himeji v Brilliant Aries @ 14:00 jst 2024.02.17

Brilliant Aries will likely also stream it but it's not their home game so it won't be one of those killer PVL level streams. Methinks Himeji's will be the better of the two

  • Boring match. Himeji is killing them and looking dumb in the squart things

  • JA Gifu v GSS Tokyo Sunbeams is a pretty exciting match. First set is in overtime. Still say GSS is a good team even tho they haven't won a match yet. Tokai no knee pads girl, #4 Nozomi Mitsuhiro is an exciting player

This is a must win for Gifu. Kinda bad stream but okay if you know everyone

  • Okay. not exciting any more. GSS has only one set in them :rolll: They do this all the time. I'm tired of it ||

  • 3:0 :(

Err, Skorts are called Squarts when the player is squatting? ... just guessing

Is Skort really a word? I thought everybody was making up words because no one wanted to say mini-skirt. Although when they debuted they were different than they are now. They didn't flap in the breeze like the Brazilians'. They were tight wrapped

  • Super weird that Gifu and GSS changed uniforms after set 2 ... from dark to white and white to dark. Never seen that before
