 I hope nobody forgets about Sykora being the Best Digger in Athens.

She's been away for 3 years but she's now back. I know Stacy will come out strong in Beijing especially with her personality.

Wow. I agreee very much to Celso...If Poland faces a European team in the quarterfinals..they will most likely prosper..But if they faces China, Cuba, USA or Brazil...it will be very difficult.

@ POL, i kinda agree that the US plays European Volleyball but I think they are more of a fast team now...Asian style...credit goes to JLP.

Oh man what a game by USA! Now Poles and Italians see what you must expect, and for us.... we got used to the new ball - these are the last news i have. Serbia and Russia will be decide the next finalist and more possibly the new champion. USA will not play suc a game tomorrow.

Oh common...If that what you think, i hope the US could prove you wrong tomorrow... :box:

We will see. I hope the US could win this one..Am i only the one feeling that Brazil's waterloo is the US? But oh, doesnt matter. I still want this 2 teams meet in Beijing Gold..Both are my favorite teams (USA slightly ahead.. ) But Dante and Giba are my favorit players..

Yes, especially China. They will be very dangerous, bacause they play at home. But in my opinion China were better four years ago, and this time they won't win gold medal.

Sadly, i have to agree with this one. China was way better 4 years ago (with Zhang Ping, etc). It will be difficult for them to defend the title (Bra, Rus, Ita, US, Poland, Serbia) as opponents are really good this time.

About The Polish Natl Team..well I trust that this team can make upset this OG. Seriously..with Glinka, Skowronska, Liktoras, Bednarek leading the team...im pretty sure about that...I just hope for an injury-free team..Oh God i hope nobody in all of the teams will be injured..It will be quite interesting to see their full-force in Beijing!

its weird that Italy´s roster always looks less dangerous on paper than on court.
The team is beatable for sure. It lost a strong attacker with Del Core and Barazza cant be in her topform yet...
I just cant wait for the Olympics to begin, im tired of predicting and analyzing possibilities, its time to see the reality

as you can see i added some smileys to the board, extra for the olymics :olympia:

    i like the smileys! :olympia:

I have to agree with you Nastja. Italy's roster seemed not that dangerous but Im sure they will still be formidable and so is Russia. The Olympic games will be very unpredictable and whoever comes closest with luck will win..remember the US in 2004. They were world number 1 coming to the OG but ended up 5th in the games..So i expect a completely unpredictable OG. Whoever wins, they will deserve it.

    MB - 3 (Bown, Scott-Aruda, Joines)

OH - 4 (Tom, Nnamani, Glass, Willoughby)

    Opp - 1 (Haneef)

    Libero - 2 (Sykora, Davis)

    ******************************

Willoughby is in to add some firepower. I really thought she'll help the team.

The awards were based on statistics so i guess that explains why Japan has 4 awards though placing last. I was a bit surprised as well but its okay. After all, Grand Prix 08 is now history. Moving on for the OG!

    Congratulations BRAZIL!!!

Flawless performance in the finals. Hoping to sustain in the OG. As ive said before, other than USA, i want Brazil to medal in the Olympics. Im happy about Mari.

Congratulations USA!!! 4th place isn't Bad. Im happy that Logan has been continuously improving. Hoping to see them podium finish in the OG.

My prediction for US Olympic Line up:

    OH: Tom, Nnamani, Glass

    Opp: Haneef

    Middle: Bown, Scott, Akinradewo, Joines

    Setters: Ahmow-Santos, Berg

    Libero: Sykora, Davis

    * If Nnamani will be Tom's opposite, Glass takes the responsibility of being an opposite if Tayyiba is at the back.

    USA def. China 3:2 (25-23,25-19,22-25,21-25,17-15)

Im soo happy that USA ended their Grand Prix stint with a win over the reigning olympic champs who played with their possible first 6 in Beijing. Im happy as well that Foluke Akinradewo has been playing extremely well in the last 3 games. Heather Bown didn't have to play as Foluke played very well in today's game. Logan and Tayyiba again led the US. Im happy that Logan and Tayyiba have been so far consistent.

If we may remember, USA's pool-mates in Beijing will be China, Cuba, Poland, Japan. Cuba defeated the US in a come-from-behind manner (almost the same with China...Thank God US won) 3:2 as well.

So im expressing my confidence for my US team, though they may not be a medal contender, but I know they can stir big upsets come Beijing.
