Display MoreI understand there is a reason behind the wild cards, cause the broadcast and everything. I even understand that the host in case Japan has the advantage, I agree is like these all the time. I just dont thik is very fair, cause is always the same ones that has the advantage. And I'm not saying this is Poland fault or Japans fault, of course not, you have nothing to do with that, if FIVB put things like that..hehe. Is just that for me, sounds not fair Japan be always the host. But please dont think that I have something against Poland, Polish people or what so ever, I've just been there and loved the country, and indeed you are great volleyball fans..hehe
I think FIVB should try to change a bit this political aspects, maybe if they work to spread volleyball more, more people would watched and get interested for it in different countries. So maybe different countries could be the host, and maybe also they should try to play a bit for the teams too, not only the marketing area. Sometimes for me is more fair that the best teams in the moment, with best results gets the wild card. Cause like this you have a higher volleyball level, you see this World GRand Champions Championship now, really what is fair in Korea winning the wild card, would not be better for the quality of the tournament if some better team won it? I mean.I think FIVB should think in that too!
And I agree with you maybe right now Turkey and Dominicans sounds better teams then USA and Cuba, but like always happens, in important competitions as a World Championship, I believe USA and CUba will try to go with best team possible, and if they do that, they are much better than Dominican and Turkey. Not only the game but also the tradition and the shirt, that for me in female volley still counts a lot.
Anyway, I was just trying to say I was sad cause I think the final reasult wont represent the level the teams are playing right now, but I can be wrong. Now is wait to see what happens in the World Championship. Everygame is a big fight, and in general have great teams, so, have everything to be a good tournament.
I know you have nothing against Poland. I just wanted to say my opinion about this situation. Ofcourse it is not fair that POL and JPN have priveleges. But I think it can't be measured the same way... Japan has much more support from FIVB than Poland and lets say also China have much more privelege from FIVB than Poland... I know that like this time Holland should be ranked 9th but it is in only FIVB fault and the thing that they've got some strange rule of drawing in their competitions (I really don't get the point of drawing in WGP for example...)
And yes probably USA and CUB will get 1st and 2nd spot in their group but I think it is too much hype on this forum about the thing that their group is much more stronger than RUS/CHN group...
And the subject of Turkey - they played really good this year and then they lost against ITA and GER in EURO easily... I think the same thing will happen next year... or as somebody said they need much more matches in prestigous friendly tournaments - Mountrex, Yeltsin cup for example....to make some good results in WCH
Ireally dont understand this gourps!!!I mean...ok was bad already the fourth groups balance, but even more now knowing that B and C will faced...and A and D...I mean...is just absurd, only volleyball loose with that!
I think FIVB is passing the limits to make things easier for Japan and Poland, maybe I'll be unfair in my coment, and I'm sorry for that, but is not first time we see this two teams having easy ways to get into Olympic Games. And the things is I dont understand why...but is very lickely that Japan and Poland will get higher performances in this World Championship then they would do if they get stronger groups...in my opinion..like this Poland even have big chances to get into semifinals of World Championship. And higher qualification in the end means more points to rank...dont know..everything seems very strange to me right now....like I said maybe I'm being unfair in my comments, cause they dont have any base, jsut my view over everything...
The fact is, I think only volleyball looses with this, quase the quality of the semifinals wont be the same and final result wont be the most fair for what teams are playing right now.
Well...
I don't think that this time there is something made for Poland in mind...
Japan is the host and I think they only prefer to play against us than agianst Netherlands ( they even put us to play 1st match against them again - look --> Olympic World Qualifying. So I think this is the main reason for not updating the ranking on time...
Of course Poland gets wildcards to WGP and WCup but I think that this time it is all made up for Japan. And what can I say about this wildcards - the main reason is that there as so many supporterts in Poland and in some other countries there are no one to watch the matches ( see --> Euro Champs in Turkey 2009, in BEL/LUX in 2007, in Croatia in 2005 etc....). And there comes along TV coverage in Poland from every big volleyball event in Polsat Sport so this is also one of the reasons for wildcards. FIVB wants Poland because there is tv coverage and as you all know from this forum in some other European countries there is no coverage at all...
And the last thing I don't think that group D with RUS, CHN, DOM and TUR is much weaker than C (sorry but Cuba didn't even qualified for WGP in 2009 and 2010 , and USA this year - is like a good joke - I don't think they can improve in one year...)
really it is from eurosport.pl - look at the volleyball section. they took it from super express..
I'm too late to vote... but it doesn't matter I would also vote for Justyna....
Joanna Mirek said in "super Express" that she will not play in NT anymore
25-0 Im wondering hace many points they scored in other sets...
Joanna Mirek said today in a newspaper that she will not play in NT anymore
I'm fine with this combination with Poland in one group with Japan and Serbia but I think the ranking will change before the draw .. so we will probably get the hardest group with italy and brazil...
Display MoreGroup A-Tokyo: Japan(host-WR7),Serbia (WR8 ),Poland(WR9) ,WR 13 -16, WR 17 - 20, WR 23 – 39.

Pot 6:Canada (WR 23), Costarica (WR 30), Czech Republic (WR 36), Croatia (WR 39).
Group E=A+D
Group F=C+B
I will only say that I am happy Serbia can't meet Brazil and Italy untill semis, and it's also good that Brasil and Italy can't meet each others until final.
the draw will be released in the end of November, I guess...
Surprise surprise!! - Korea - what a shocker....
and Egypt...heh
The level of the competition will be ridiciolous - if Brazil play Italy on the first day everything will be known then who's first who's second...
The influence of Japan to the World Volleyball makes some of the tournaments really not worth seeing...
They always want to give wildcard to someone who's worst than them.
And the biggest shock for me was World Olympic Qualification (3 best plus Asian )... sorry I wanted then so much to Japan finish out of the top 3 and then be after some Asian team but it was really not possible. I wonder if they would not have qualified what regulations would FIVB give in 2011 before London - 3 best plus plus Japan . Ok I'm getting out of topic....
Am I only one posting here today
So Germany woke up a set earlier than polish girls
We'll see how it goes...
well i Won't see because I'm going out but really interesting match...
Probably see you tomoroow
I didn't expect that Poland would get one more point that Germany in 1st set 11-10
Maybe the Polish players couldn't cope with the pressure? After second set they played with a free mind.
I dont think there was a pressure... In Poland everyone is happy that they got to the final four (with some absences in our squad this year)... I think this was something like "we lost to them 3 times in a row 0-3'... in this two sets
Some pressure will be tomorrow... because probably against Germany Poland will be a little favourite
But really in Poland everyone thinks that those semifinals for us is a great succes. And nobody should complain about this defeat against Netherlands
congrats to Holland. we started to play too late...
Hope to get the Bronze tomorrow
So there will be only one change in WGP next year - Italy instead of Russia. All other 11 teams stays the same. No Cuba again.
I think there should have been more spots for European teams. DOM and PUR always play very poor in Grand Prix and also the fourth team of Asia (which were Korea, Kazakstan or Chinese Taipei in recent years) also lose almost every match. In Europe we've got at least 7 strong teams and only 4 goes to Grand Prix.
Poland got a wildcard every year
This year we don't need one. Again rematch NED - POL [
Thank you Manon! Thank you Debby! and rest of the team
Now we need to win
@ Rafalowski
Bulgaria played a good match against The Netherlands. Very strong outside-hitters.
ok. but I think as I wrote in post above they don't impress me. I'm dissapointed with their performance in the whole season
