I am not sure whether these are rumours or already confirmed but some teams are already working hard to build up a better team, especially Belogorie.
I am surprised with Ivovic though, Lokomotiv-Lo is not a team you'd expect a player of his calibre to go, but it seems like the same path of Divis...

Congrats to Dinamo, at the end of the day they were the team that displayed the better volleyball throughout the season.
-
Isn't Andreev Likhosherstov's favorite serve target?
On other days, yes, but something must be tried.
The reality is most Russian liberos has played poorly this season -
Isn't Andreev available to play? Melkozerov in a terrible day
-
Not only Sammelvuo rarely tries Kovalev who is a great floating server, but also forgot Dyachkov exists.

I sense a plot twist with Zenit winning its first game against Dynamo today!
-
I couldn't really watch but without Zaytsev it was already expected to be hard for Kuzbass. Regardless, I think they exceeded the exéctations considering their roster.
Lokomotiv had a season of many ups and downs. It was difficult to see all of them playing well at the same time. Even Luburuic in the start took a while to be more consistent, something the OH's never achieved, especially Ivovic.
Eventually, I think the final ranking is going to be more realistic to the actual potential of the teams than the regular season, apart from Kazan that could be higher -
Dinamo is definitely the favourite but Lokomotiv can surprise. The key for me would be a good day from both OHs which hasn't really been the case, especially Ivovic on reception to avail the middle game. They have also potentially serve really well and that can put a lot of pressure on Moscow. Let's see

Yay! I am glad I've bitten my tongue when I mentioned Zenit's fighting spirit!
Congrats to both teams, it was a great match.
-
Tie Break! Hope Podrebinkin stays in the starting six and the middles continue this effective!
-
Good match so far. Kuzbass is surprising me, I did not expect them to be so stable, everyone doing a fair job, and Zaytsev doing what he is supposed to.
As much as I want Zenit to advance I hardly believe it now. This team seems to struggle to fight back. -
If Fakel wins 3-1, then it all comes down to Points ratio between the 3 teams. If this match go to a tie-break, I believe Zenit is eliminated if I'm not mistaken..
Zenit won and lost 3 x 1 so sets ratio is 0, so if it goes to tie break Fakel is eliminated
-
True, he is a good all-around OH.
I guess it's over. If points ratio is the decisive factor only a miracle of something like 25 x 10 would save Fakel -
I actually never understood why Deroo lost space in the starting six. Semyshev has done a good job but Deroo was the best OH before the injury, even better than Podlesnykh.
I Hope Dynamo takes this set! -
Atleast he's hot. Even if Podlesnykh leaves Dinamo, they are still a pretty hot team with Bogdan.
Not only hot but also my ultimate crush in world volleyball!
-
-
Bogdan worked hard to give away this set to Dynamo with all those reception mistakes, but they just didn't capitalise the chances
-
Kurkaev changed his serve
He's been struggling with this change this season IMO, in spite of a good run here and there. I think if he doesn't adjust and get more consistent he should stick to the floating in Tokyo.
PS: I was meant to comment on Yakovlev's serve yesterday. Is it just me or his efficiency in serving has dropped a lot? -
Game 1: Zenit x Fakel - 95 X 84 - Zenit +11/ Fakel -11
Game 2: Dynamo x Zenit - 95 x 83 - Dynamo + 12 / Zenit -1Scenarios:
Dynamo's win regardless of the result means Fakel is out.
Fakel's victory of 3x0 results in Dynamo's elimination and a 3x2 win wouldn't be enough for Fakel to advance.
So I reckon the possibilities where Zenit could be sent out is a 3x1 Fakel with +11, +12, then Fakel and Moscow advance. A 3x1 win to Fakel with less than + 10, Zenit and Dynamo go through and over + 13 would be Zenit and Fakel. In case it is +10 or +13, Zenit would be even in most of the criteria with Fakel and Moscow respectively and probably the team that scored more would advance but I am not sure. -
Congrats to Kuzbass! It is a balanced and experienced team. Obmochaev indeed played really well, especially on reception.
I am not angry with Kazan's loss at all. Their season was irregular and it was high time to be dethroned from the finals. I also didn't like how Alekno managed critical moments and am not a fan of Ngapeth either so it is all good ( can't deny that beautiful play in teh end either).
PS: Mikhaylov didn't show up in the tiebreak...
