The turn around spike from N'gapeth was still marvelous though but Obmochaev and Sivozheles played so well for Kuzbass.

Congrats to Kuzbass! It is a balanced and experienced team. Obmochaev indeed played really well, especially on reception.
I am not angry with Kazan's loss at all. Their season was irregular and it was high time to be dethroned from the finals. I also didn't like how Alekno managed critical moments and am not a fan of Ngapeth either so it is all good
( can't deny that beautiful play in teh end either).

That's why I say this playoff system sucks. Even strong team can be eliminated if they had one bad game. 3 games knockoff in 1/4 and 5 games in 1/2 and final would be better for strong teams as they have time to adjust.
Kazan have been on downhill for years since Leon left. When you think they already hit the bottom, they can reach a new low.
Kazan lost several 5-set games this season. The result is from a lot of factors: Golu's poor reception, BB's unforced errors, NG's clutch time showoff miss, Butko's horrible pass all season, Volvich's slow moving on blocking. NG is a team cancer without a doubt.

Oh ok! Thanks for that info! I thought like in other leagues, there were also berths disputed in Russian Cup or similar tournments. Didnt know that CL tickets were only assigned to the top3 teams.
Btw, I really dont know when was the last time Zenit Kazan missed a CL. It is a flop.

Well, it actually did not count in previous years but I'm not sure about this year. It's just a guess.
