Bad referee decisions, all in favor for the favorite Serbia. Serbia is offensive just too strong. Boskovic is good, but too arrogant. Too many serve errors in the first set of the Netherlands and they did not get the balls on the ground. I hope that the Netherlands will finally get a medal tomorrow and I hope Serbia the gold!

I just wonder how some member here mentioned that the NED is the next WCH host?? And the post was presented as a statement, not expectation/hope so misleading
Well the Nevobo has officially made a bid for the WCH in 2022. I hope they will get it, they proved they can organise good tournaments.

Netherlands were not playing at 100%, but they made way too many errors. Really bad game by Beliën. In my opinion Schoot has to be the first libero and not Knip.
-
What a comeback from the Netherlands! Very well played by Sloëtjes! Good replacement by Koolhaas, Schoot and Plak. I really thought they could not manage without the Kruijf, but they are in the semi-finals!
-
Adams is playing really well!

If I remember right someony on this forum (flyingdutchman maybe?) wrote that Judith said on dutch TV that she wasn't called to the national team this year by Morrison.
No, that was me. A journalist said she was not selected, after which she nodded yes. But a few months ago I read an interview that she herself chose to stop at the Dutch team

I'd like to think that this NED team can still be better too. I know De Krujif is out because of injury. What happened to Pietersen and Daalderop though? And Pilon-Stam did she retire?
Pietersen has decided not to play anymore for the Dutch team and Daalderop has a stress fracture in her leg. Stam had her second child last year, so she is retired.
-
they are basically the same team as in Rio both in terms of personel and strength. robin is not here because of injury who could really help here.
That is not entirely true. In Rio they had Stam as a stable libero, Steenbergen as a good replacement in the middle and Pietersen who could play as a outside and as a opposite. In my opinion, the team lacks this experience during this tournament.

Very good game by the Dutchies! They served and blocked very well! It's a pity Serbia didn't played at their best.

It seems like Netherlands has not guaranteed a spot in third round yet.
Yes it's true, Serbia has to win against Japan and then they are placed.
-
Brazil had to win and Netherlands was already placed after the third set, so they lost focus. Nevertheles, I am happy with the development of Bongaerts and Lohuis. I hope that Buijs will play beter, because she is not in good shape yet.
-
What a comeback from the Netherlands! Great teamworkLohuis serve
-
Bartsch-Hackley and Lowe started the match. Hill and Bartsch in the pass did not work.
-
Good comeback of the Netherlands in the 4th set! But it was a poor performance, only Sloëtjes played good! Also Lohuis as a substitute was good.
-
No luck for the Dutch team Now Beliën has a virus, so she has not traveled to Japan so the rest of the team does not get ill. Probaply she can play the first game.

De Kruijf and Daalderop definitely out for the WCH Bongaerts goes as second setter, so Stoltenborg is out.
Team roster
Setter: Dijkema, Bongaerts
Opposite: Sloëtjes
Outside hitter: Balkestein-Grothues, Buijs, Plak, Jasper, Oude Luttikhuis
Middle blocker: Beliën, Lohuis, Koolhaas, Polder
Libero: Schoot, Knip

There is a verry small chance that de Kruijf and Daalderop will play at the WCH
The absence off de Kruijf is a big blow for the Netherlands

GER-NED 0:3 (9:25, 21:25, 14:25)
Do you know the lineups?

I'm not a big fan of Stoltenborg, but I hope he will take her to the WCH instead of Bongaerts. I think Stoltenborg did not play bad in the VNL and the WCH comes 1 year too early for Bongaerts, beacause she is still too unstable.
I am also a bit worried about Daalderop, this year she has had many injuries. I think she can be verry useful as a sub in the WCH, so I hope she can play some friendly matches.
I totally agree with you on Lohuis! But I think it is positive she is going too have a lot of play time next season.
I thought there are 14 players allowed in the WCH roster, so I will pick Koolhaas as 4th MB.
Tomorrow I'm going to watch the game live, so I'm really sad de kruijf is still injured. I think they play better with de Kruijf.
