I noticed something about the Tianjin team, Li Yingying (at 192cm) appears to be the same height or even slightly taller than Wang Yuanyuan (at 195cm). Our eyes can be deceiving and 3cm is nothing, but has anyone else noticed ?

And they're starting from the beginning? I mean 0 wins, 0 points, just 3 matches dach team and 3 best are going to the next statek?
Yes, they will start from a clean slate.
In Stage 3 of the competition, the top 3 teams of groups C and D will combine to form group F where a sort of round robin will be played, whereby you are not required to meet teams you have already played within C & D. Results from within C and D will be carried over to group F.
4th placed teams from C and D will play off for 7th placing overall.
Semi finals & Final stages: After stage 3, positions F1 will play F4 and F2 play F3 in a best of 3 matches in the semi finals.
F5 vs F6 will be the playoff for the 5th and 6th placing overall.
Winners of the semi finals will proceed to the Final, which is best of 3 matches again.
So, there is plenty more volleyball to enjoy !

Having watched all the teams in action, I really think Tianjin are the team to beat....and it’s not just about Zhu Ting and Li YY. Wang Yizhu is doing well and MB Wang YY has added strength to her blocking and hitting. The team is strong overall.
Shanghai and Guangdong are also strong, thanks to their imports, especially Louisa Lippmann and Kelsey Robinson.
Jiangsu, Liaoning and Shandong have an outside chance if they are consistent, but Beijing and Zhejiang will struggle, I feel 😐
-
Jiangsu rests their main attacking players, Zhang CN, Gong etc...and got beaten by Fujian 3-0 😐
-
Seems like Dixon (MB, USA) is given the green light to join Beijing. She will be #16.

Now, I don't know how fair this is for the other teams, but I think this is justified.
She joined the second set replacing tall no.6, Zhang Yu ? but were run over by Guangdong again. The problem is Beijing lacks effective wing spikers....

CVL resumes tomorrow, after a day’s rest. Most teams have three remaining matches in Stage 2. Five teams with 19 pts or more are safely through to compete in the top 8 (stage 3) while three teams with 5 pts or less will find themselves competing for the bottom placings of 9th to 13th spots.
Beijing (17 pts) and Liaoning (18 pts) are also likely to join the top 8, leaving the last remaining spot to be decided between Zhejiang (14pts..with 3 tough matches to come), Fujian (9 pts with 3 matches) and Sichuan (9pts with 2 matches).
It has to be said that the teams that have qualified for the top 8 might rest some of their regular players to save the best for the last, so that the weaker teams might have a chance against their reserve sides. 😀

2nd set is better for Beijing... but Tianjin isn't playing Li Yingying and 2nd set had Yang Yi
IMO she really needs to improve or switch to libero. Probably the coach is giving her a chance but then she had to be subbed off.
......telecast is continuing with Shanghai vs Guangdong 👍. .... regarding Yang Yi, I believe she is somewhat out of her depth at the highest level, especially in a team like Tianjin. IMO Yu Yun Wei is the better player in the opposite position (接应). Also, there is a chance LYY might move to that position for both club and country in future.

There's a livestream of Tianjin-Beijing right now. Sometimes this guy streams, sometimes he doesn't.
thanks for link.....set 1 is a demolition job by Tianjin !

fire_cai_bin Yes all the sites are back, thanks 🙂

Alves Julian Chow site's up again for me at least
-
Yep, site's down. No clue why.
Shandong 25-11, 25-16, 25-12.
Apparently Shandong played with all substitutes (excluding Wang Mengjie the libero)
zhutingfan, thanks for the update. I believe the site has been blocked and I hope it’s only temporary. It would be nice if you could give us further updates of the rest of today’s matches as they become available. 😃

It’s now slightly past the midway point of the round robin (stages 1 & 2) and I can make a projection... the top 8 going into stage 3 might look like this....Tianjin, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Liaoning, Shandong, Beijing and Zhejiang.
I miss watching Yuan Xinyue and hearing her screams. Also, a promising young star Wu Mengjie is missing from the Jiangsu team. I wonder why they didn’t include her ?

see my previous comment.
thanks.

I’m looking for a link to watch Shandong vs Fujian on November 13th (yesterday) Thanks 😃
