Dutch NT 2013-2014

  • Her choice, yes… But never say never ;)

I didn't hear any new info, but with Grothues injured, she's either in or out… Not 'resting'

She has been injured for more than a year now...I agree with you: she will probably be out --> retirement

  • Kim Renkema wrote on her Fb profile that she decided not to be in NT this summer.

As for Gravesteijn, her reception is quite bad (she had 26% this season in A2) and in Montichiari she played mainly as Opp with good results, but nothing special of course.

  • Gravesteijn also played as OPP in Hamburg in some matches but was receiving in some line-ups.

Russia became European champion without reception, so maybe in the end it's not such a bad idea for Dutch NT to play with the strongest attackers too :D

About Meijners, I was hoping that maybe De Kruijf could talk her into coming to NT in Piacenza, but obviously not :(

    Indeed, Russia showed it :D

Robin told in an interview, as she arrived in Piacenza, she talked for 5 minutes with Floortje about NT. (Probably Floortje didn't want to talk longer about it)

    Thanks for info :drink:

Well, I think the best solution is playing without reception :teach:

  • Guys, do you have any news about Stam? did she retire or anything?

    No news at all..

She came back home with a back injury from Azerrail (like Caro) in March 2013...that's the latest official news about her..

In the end of 2013 there were rumors she was recovering from her injury at Papendal (National Training Centre)...that's all..

To be honest, I expect her to retire (like Caro already did)...but we will see in future..

    @ Marieke

    Any more info to add?

  • Finally the selection of the Netherlands for this summer!!!!

Surprising to see Carlijn Jansz in the team again, and another surprise is Celia Diemkoudre,a youngster from Sliedrecht Sport.

    Check page 27 :D :D

  • Without Grothues reception line will be so so  she's the only reliable receiver here :what: I hope that Pietersen after weak season won't get a chance in main roster.
Stam's situation is a mystery, hope she won't retire as Wensink ;(

  • I only recognise Plak, and the one right of her might be Muijlwijk, but where are Flier and Steenbergen ?(

I thought on the far left: Femke or Manon..on the left side of Plak: Steenbergen?! and Plak of course. On the far right: Manon?

  • 14-roster for friendlies in Bulgaria, 16/5 - 18/5:

    S: Stoltenborg, Dijkema
OH: Plak, Sloetjes, Gravesteijn, van Berkel
    Opp: Muijlwijk, Pietersen
MB: De Kruijf, Beliën, Jans, Koolhaas
    L: Knip, Oosterveld

    * Flier and Grothues only focus at WCH
    * Buijs, Schoot and Steenbergen --> rest.

Karine Muijlwijk will make her debut for NT in Bulgaria :flower:

Vermeulen: friendlies against Bulgaria and Belgium will be used to test several players (from wide roster). After the Belgium-friendlies, 31/5 and 1/6, there is a 10 days-break. After the break the 'real' preparation for WGP and WCH begins.

  • Nice interview with Carlijn Jans

    http://www.volleybalkrant.nl/n…-alsnog-voor-het-maximale

After 7 years she returned to NT.

During European Cup-matches with Alterno, she noticed she could raise her level.

She made a phone-call herself to Vermeulen to tell him she is available again for NT :P

She would like to play abroad next season...taking her family (husband and two little kids) with her :win:
