Now 13 players are officially listed as members of Allianz MTV Stuttgart first squad for 2016/2017 season, including (backup) player and outside hitter Julia Wenzel, who is also member of the second squad in the second league:

Nice to see Köpenick confirming many players. They were a positive surprise last season, performing much better as a team than what could be expected from the individual players. I hope they can keep this up in the new season as well.

Only Captain Claudia Steger told some time ago, that they are constructing a roster for next season. But it is still not clear, if they got enough money to participate in Bundesliga 2016/2017 already. Does anybody know anything? They wanted to clarify things until end of July (latest).

According to their FB site they will announce some news concerning the roster soon.

Tessa Polder from Sliedrecht Sport to Ladies in Black Aachen,18 year old MB
There is no information from the club about signing Tessa Polder so far. The last message on the facebook account of the LiB (somebody asks: We are going to play with only 4 players?) does not look like they were going to sign a player in a short time. May be the message concerning Tessa Polder was too early?

Antonia Stautz another season in Erfurt.

Due to DSCs media partner Dresdner Morgenpost they hired two Belgians (Yellow Tigers), namely libero Valerie Courtois (was formerly a time-limited replacement for Schoot) and from Asterix Kieldrecht the young outside hitter Dominika Strumilo (19 years old), already playing for Asterix in Ere Division for several years now (!). With all known contracts this brings the number of currently known players of champion Dresden to 10, the article claims a roster size of 13, I expect more 14, because with the two libero players Courtois/Schoot they can use all 14 every time like they did last season, always participating in the CL by the way.

Annalena Grätz another year in Köpenick.
-
Strumilo and Courtois official in Dresden. Looking at their roster so far, they look a lot weaker than last season while Stuttgart and Schwerin seem to have at least kept their level, if not improved.

Indeed, if Dresden doesn't hire some rather strong middles and outside hitters now additionally, I would consider Allianz MTV Stuttgart as first championship favorite. While I understand Alex Waibl, that he wants to construct a team with future, for the coming seaon this can easily prove not strong enough to defend the title. Because for Dresden playing in the Champions League is an important part of their efforts for every season, they risk this way the participation in 2018 - this is, what is surprising me.
By the way, a team has to work as such, so no one (what is a good thing) can tell for sure, if Stuttgart, Schwerin or Dresden will win the title, but this situation makes the first match Dresden-Stuttgart at supercup Berlin even more interesting, preparation time is there for both teams. It may be an advantage for Stuttgart though, because they kept 6 to 7 (depends how you count) from 12 to 13 players before, while Dresden lost nearly all players from last season.

Rote Raben Vilsbiburg will play some friendlies in China.

Aachen signs Frauke Neuhaus vom the second Team of Stuttgart
This is very interesting: Frauke was studying so far sports in Stuttgart and now leaves the amateur, second league team of Stuttgart to follow her former coach to Aachen this way. She was one of the best (opposite) attackers in second league south, so it is interesting to see, how she develops now training as professional for the first time in her life.

Young OPP Marie Holstein from Schwerin to Köpenick, which means Kaleigh Nelson is leaving.

Marie Hollstein zu KSC.

She told me (personal) on Facebook she was going to Aachen, so news is for real.

Such a good example of bad transition from junior level to senior level. She was the MVP of 90-91 generation in junior WCh
