USA has qualified for 2020 Tokyo, and DOM has qualified to pre-olympic tournament in January 2020, as the top ranked team in NORCECA, therefore, the rest 6 participating teams will fight for the last 3 vacancies to the pre.
so many tournaments... why not just make this the olympic qualifier????
hope PUR is back at their strongest... the team that played the IOQT and panam games wasn’t too impressive.

Yes. I agree.
however, pre-olympic is always the independt tournament, not linked with continental championships.
In 2017, the NORCECA made the compromise with the FIVB, to combine the championship as the qualifier. IMO. that was really stupid decision ever. NORCECA should have selected the best 6 ranked teams of the continental championships, rather than directly selecting the winner from 6 groups. The following stages of the championships were completely with no meaning and caused the tournament rediculously castrated.
Dominican Republic qualified for the NORCECA OGQT by winning the silver medal at the NORCECA Champions Cup (the USA team won the gold, but they are already qualified for the OG, so the second placed team took the ticket).

My team would be:
S: Natalia Valentín, Wilmarie Rivera
OH: Aury Cruz, Stephanie Enright, Pilar Victoriá, Legna Hernández
MB: Diana Reyes, Neira Ortiz, Paola Rojas*
OP: Karina Ocasio, Paulina Prieto
L: Shara Venegas, Normarie Vélez
My starters
*I can't pick among the middles: I like the 3 of them. They can all start and I'd let play the 2 with the best shape.
The president of the federation said that the doors of the NT are always open for Sheila Ocasio: her suspension for doping is over in 2020.
sheila is too old! but i guess she’s still younger than someone like valdez????
GCC was a totally superfluous tournament...
i hope we can find some good streams for this.

TTO with a B team... no thompson, no jack...
even TTO with B team?
well, i’m not sure who the TTO A team should be now, but i don’t see thompson, jack, esdelle, ramdin, forde... they did the same at pan am cup, they sent a very young, amateurish team.
from the other thread, it seems US and PUR have won their groups and are through to the semis.
QFs are: CUB x DOM and CAN x MEX.
strange that US and DOM were drawn into the same group, when they are the top 2 teams...
too bad we couldn't find any streams for these matches. maybe they'll show up on YT in the future...
Any stream for CUB-DOM please???
i found this vid of PUR x CAN from yesterday : https://www.facebook.com/FedPURVoli/videos/410907926249569/
Was it stream or video uploaded afterwards?
i don't know, just started watching it now... the match was yesterday.
interesting PUR strategy, they moved ocasio to passing OH, so she can play along with prieto... not sure i like that, ocasio is not so good as receiver. no santana but reyes is back...
Van Ryk from Canada is growning a lot. I like her. Bergamo signed a potential breakout.
