  • i think we already know 7 out of 8 teams that will play in play offs (PAOK, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, AEK, AO Thiras, Aris, Thetis). Probably for the 8th place will fight Markopoulo, Amazones, Lamia and Pannaxiakos. Amazones were very competitive against Paok although they played without their brazilian OH. Pannaxiakos has agreed with a very good MB from the nt of puerto rico but she didnt come and her name is deleted in volleybox roster.

Read that Ilysiakos' coach just resigned

The last two times he was in greek league his teams eliminated. Maybe he understood that Ilisiakos will finish in the bottom.

I noticed that Wilma Salas played very good 3 times in champions league (21/40, 22/37, 25/39). She had a serious injury in the past and she is not ready yet. In greek league she is not so strong. Also Hippe had a small injury and in the next month Taylor Agost will join Olympiakos ( first scorer of greek league two years ago) who also

    had an injury.

Jaeyeong is not ready yet and i want to she if they will use her in the strong matches. If paok won asterix they will have more difficult games and Jeayeong can help PAOK a lot.

Yeah the Amazones were true to their name, really persistent in the way they dug so many attacks from PAOK

Got a bit worried too, though I will say PAOK lost set 2 since they subbed out Merteki for Stamatia - good experience for her nonetheless

    Was their Brazilian OH injured?

Jaeyeong is definitely not ready yet, her knees had always been an issue for her, and returning to high impact after 8mths away is showing its effects.

She was great in set 1, but her knees seemed over-worked by set 4.

Based on what the PAOK coach & owner said, they seem to be readying her in time for the league playoffs while playing her in easier games before that.

I'm glad to at least see that her receives are good and stable though, didn't lose her touch for attacks too - but she needs to have more time for strength training to work on her jump height & landing for now

Meanwhile, Olympiacos dropped out of Champions League and will be playing in CEV Cup it seems

  • Was their Brazilian OH injured?

yes, in the first match of the season

Meanwhile, Olympiacos dropped out of Champions League and will be playing in CEV Cup it seems

on the other hand Thetis won a team from Slovakia and in the next round they will play against one of the strongest teams in europe Savino Del Bene Scandicci.

it seems that Olympiakos is not in a good shape, especially when Salas doesnt help in attack. (6/19). I remember two times in the past that Olympiakos didnt start good and they changed a foreign player. I guess they will do that again if they loose again a match in greek league.

I noticed that when during a week there are no european matches, there are matches of the greek league. (for example 20/10. 9/11, 1/12)

  • Dayeong practically ran a marathon today trying to save & set all the poor receives & digs from todays match :')

Even against one of the weakest teams in the league :')

There were clearly much lesser attacks from the middle today (usually PAOK's strength), and the attack distribution was much more drastically skewed to the extremes today - due to poor receives.

... but what makes it crazier is that the attack success rate the extremes had were actually still so high, despite the floundering receives (Martina/libero, 44% - 19%) and the difficulty to even get to some of those balls, much less set them well.

Merteki, Stamatia and Fidon (Outside Hitters) all had >50% attack success rate. Dayeong really connected the defence to the attack for PAOK so well today.

Coach Floros did say that the team had issues having a full roster this week due to vaccinations, so I hope its just a bad game from that.

Though, if Dayeong had to get that 3rd jab as well... how did she...

edit: re-watched the match again and realize it wasn't as bad as my first impression of it😅Merteki & Fidon were good in their own right too

I suppose now that they can focus solely on the Greece league they should be better & more rested?

But yeah their foreigners don't seem to be performing up to par thus far, they do have Taylor Agost joining though

Meanwhile, I'm ready for PAOK's November schedule 🤗🤗

  • Coach Floros did say that the team had issues having a full roster this week due to vaccinations, so I hope its just a bad game from that.

Though, if Dayeong had to get that 3rd jab as well... how did she...

ok..paok played without 3 very important players..and the opposite team didnt manage to earn more than 20 points in any set..also the schedule of paok this month is full so maybe played just enough to win.

Even against one of the weakest teams in the league :')

she seems very motivated even against the weakest teams...i thought she would be bored against that teams
