A look into future, perhaps? :P

Yes, my mistake of course. I meant Peruvians. I don't expect such a result against Cuba, wich played well against Brasil.
Today Poland could have won the game, but USA was much better in the ends o the sets (I don't mention second set). As youstyna said it is not impossible to get a ticket to Beijing, but the way to China is very long now :? Now one day-off and game against Cuba. I suppose it is the last chance for us in the tournaments. I'm sure Poland will beat Kenya, Thailand, Dominicana, South Korea, maybe Japan. But if you want to go to OG, you have to win against somebody stronger...Sad but true.

No surprises again. Poland had clear 3-0 victory over Cubans who played very bad. Poles played qouite good, but not perfect. Tomorrow we have very difficult and important game against USA. USA showed many good actions and mobilisation in Polish team must be high, if we want to win. But it is of course possible. Poland knows how to play against USA.

    Hey Konrad, I'm sorry.

It was a mistake, I intended to say the third set was pretty much like the second one.

Sorry for the mistake, I'll edit the other post!

    No problem :)

They gave Russian spot to Poland so Poland could embarass herself like that? 25x12!

Yes it was really embarassing  I wish I didn't watch this set... But this is woman's volleyball: in one set you lose 12-25, then you win 25-12... Unfortunatelly - not this time.

The third set was pretty much like the first one.

What do you mean? I watched the game too, and the first set was a diseaster for Poland, when in the third - game was rather close...
As many people before said, there weren't any surpises in the first day. Favourites won. But I"m sure that there will be some surprises later. I hope not in the Peru-Poland game :)

    Quote from "Nastja"

damn, poland must at least score 21 points or else ill loose 50 cents

    They scored more...
Poor game by Poland. I know, Brasil is a good team but it is really very difficult to win if you don't have faith and... reception. Only the third set looked little better.
Of course, there is many more gamest to play, but I suppose today's defeat isn't good for Poland from psychological point of view. Peru is much worse, so I hope Poland will win tomorrow, bur they have to play much better.

Konrad - we can see Sliwa today in Szczecin 18.30 - she is playing against our local team 8)

I like Sliwa - she is still my fav. setter !

Unfortuantely I wasn't in Szczecin that time :(

And Sliwa back? wow
I didn't like Belcik, but it's weird to hear that she's out of the team... it seems kinda personal between her and Bonitta

I don't like Bełcik either, but this decision seems to be controversial. Śliwa was (is?)a great setter, but she haven't played in NT for a long time. I'm not sure about her shape in World Cup, but I hope Bonitta knows better.

i understand you don't like us, but if you are supposed to write like that, please don't write anything

Yes, I have also noticed that. Maybe they don't have big "P" font in Bulgaria

    Quote from "AFROMAN"

Yeah of course, Spain is better, but this is not the point. Of course Spain should participate, but why the groups are organized like that? Every year is like this. Who decides about the groups, are their urns, like in football?

As far as I know the system is very specific. This is an commercial event, so the most important are the invitations which teams are given by FIVB. TV contracts and big audience in halls play big role too. I think the sport aspect is less importent. And a squad of groups is somtimes very strange.

I was writting about Spain, and you are talking bout Bulgaria again. I know you have hard gruiop, but it is not my fault. I just wanted to say that is better that European Champion will play in WL, instead of weak Argentina.

The decision is rather reasonable. Spain is now better tema than Argentina, althought I'm not sure if they will still so good without Anastasi...

    Quote from "Nastja"

what health problems does she have?

It is something about her knie. The doctors say that it is for her to early to play in such a difficult competition.

    Quote from "Nastja"

ahh ok. Well i can understand her... family is more important.
But i heard rumours and read some interviews myself that she might quit VB pretty soon. But no news on that i guess?

I hope, she will be back with team after WC. She said, she would like to finnish her NT career, but she didn't confirm that. Bonita just don't want to hear about that.

I really don't think that France will win this tournament. Salinas, Ravva and Kociniewski have stop the national team after the EC. The team is young and promising but they will miss experienced players. There are still players like Lozancic, Rybazcewski, Shleck and Querard but it will difficult without an experienced setter.

I didn't know that. It changes my opinion. Now I suppose that Turkey will be the winner.

    Quote from "mariuszj1939"

Even we are living in the same city I cannot agree :
1/ Belgium and Slovakia are quite on the same level as Bulgaria but host team should win
2/ Turkey at home is min 50 % better comperting outside competitions - see ECH 2003 , l2008 WGP qual. and WGP qual. few years ago !
France - I don't believe they are enough good having Turkish fans everywhere

1/ Yes, I wrote about Belgium.Maybe Bulgaria isn't better, but I wouldn't be surprised if they win.
2/ Of course we don't have to have the same opinion , althought we live in the same city :)

Bulgaria is my favourite too, because they are hosts and they don't have real opponents. Maybe Belgium...but I think Bulgaria - which I don't like at all(AFROMAN :wink2: ) - will win.
In the tournament in Ankara, I would bet on France. I think this team is in better shape than Turkey.
And in the first The Netherlands is a clear favourite for me.
