Poland played to really bad matches in this tournament (did we ever-ever lost to Australia in volleyball? I can't remember...) and it is really difficult for me to believe, that Poles are capable of winning some medal in London. The defeat against "The Aussies" may have a big impact on Polish team, no matter it was just a defeat in the group stage. From the psychological point of view it is really bad news, that Poland lost it. Now they know, that they are not that brilliant. I'm sure they lost to Bulgaria and Australia in their heads and it was even easy to notice during the matches.
I'm affraid we may see "old Poland" in 1/4 and Russians will eat us for breakfast. The atmosphere in Polish team isn't probably great after monday and Anastasi may loose his nerves (he hates to loose, especially when the game is poor as it was against Australia). I don't expect nothing pleasent for Polish fans tomorrow. :(

I wrote that on Tuesday and - unfortunately - I was right. :( I expected such result, so it is painful for me, but not unexpected...I have not much to add - the game Poland played yesterday was hopless, terrible and pathetic. It was Poland I was hoping I would never see again soon. But I did. And I am affraid I won't be able to forget it.
Congratulations to Bulgaria. These team's success (the same with Italy) proves, that winning WL or just playing very well in this tournament (Poland, USA) doesn't mean you may succeed in the most important sport event in the world - Olympic games. Now Bulgaria and Italy - teams nobody rather counted on - are close to the Olympic medals, the most precious prize the sportsman can get. And we can just watch... Sad reality. :(

One more thing - In my opinion we didn't loose our chance for medals against Russia: we lost it against Australia. That game has broken something in Polish team and gave us much stronger opponent in the 1/4.

I know I have the worst position in the game, but please, try to write my name correctly once ;)

Brazil-Russia was great match. The best level of volleyball. I didn't have my favourite in that game - I just wanted to see a really good play. And both teams didn't let me down. A match to remember. :obey:
Big congratulations also for South Korea. They were much better against Italy. Fantastic achievement for this team.

I wonder how many Bulgarians predicted their team would be 1st in the group... ^^ Now Bulgaria is very close to the semis, cause Germany is the easiest opponent Bulgaria could have got. Of course Germans are not bad and any result is possible in this match, but I suppose Bugarians couldn't have had better way to olympic medal.

I would bet on USA-Russia in the final.

Are you satisfied now, you underachievers :D
Congrats, to all of you Poles :drink:

I was very happy, no doubts. But it doesn't change my mind too much. Both Majewski and Zieliński are big fighters and great sportsmen and I knew I could count on them. However - too many Polish athletes have been performing below their possibilities in these OG.
Yesterday we won two bronze medals: in weightlifting (Bartłomiej Bonk) and wrestling (Damian Janikowski). Now Poland have 6 medals. 10 or more is still possible, but it won't be easy

Not the best OG for Serbia so far... Both men and woman. 1 victory over weak Tunisia and 5 loses.
Too bad, that Grozer left Resovia after last season.

As for your athletes - yes, you can be disappointed, but you can't blame them as maybe Bartek wanted to explain. At least you have more fun Olympics cause in many disciplines you can cheer for your nation :)

I don't blame all of them. Badminton, table tennis, K-1 mountain canoeing - in these disciplines our athletes did their best and were even very close to success. I blame only some "stars", whose performance was just terrible: A. Radwańska, Kubot, Fyrstenberg/Matkowski in tennis, our all fencers. They seem to bin in London on holidays or something...
