Mayu opposite Matsui

Based on the fivb live app, both Airi and Hamamatsu will start on today's game! Ishikawa and Yamada playing too! New combination

Wow! Ex-Kurobe MB Hinano Michishita and Poster Girl OH Ranna Shiraiwa have joined Gunma Bank. I guess they are serious

Toyota announced yesterday that their super thin libero, Yukako Yasui is 退団 or 任意引退. Sounds to me like she doesn't think she can ever fully recover from injury. Sad when that happens She wasn't that great , and Toyota did okay with Nao Muranaga out of retirement and setter Risako Yamagata as dueling liberos, but I'm not sure how long that can last

Someone younger. Maybe I'm mixing it up with a reality tv person.
see above post

Andy MacDowall?
Whoa! Careful with the google. She doesn't look like she did in Sex, Lies, and Videotape any more
-
Degradi reminds me of someone. Similar face and curly hair as well, I think an actress.
Andy MacDowall?

Imoudu retired
Thanks, I was just about to post:
Denise Imoudu is not here this year. Anything happening with her? Seemed like she was poised to improve, but I guess others did instead. Has Kästner been the main setter in the past VNLs
-
Carlota Cambi? or Francesca Bosio?
It was Denise Imoudu I was thinking of . Got the Germany alternative half-guess right , and there is an O in her name
-
Orro is the setter playing now, but she was never curly as far as i remember
It's not this setter, but she's what made me think about it. She definitely had curly hair and was a 2nd setter (on some team, I thought Italy) trying to push up to starter, probably 2 years ago IIRC
-
Didn't Italy have a setter with dark curly hair named Orro, or was that Germany, or ... like named Agrorro or something?
-
She was always a permanent backup player so, and not old/experienced enough to be a "vet" nor a starting player
I feel she has more leadership than Park Jeongah this VNLs, only one I see really fighting for it
Heejin & Jeongah gives off the "we're here just to be here" kinda mood, probably need the fierce Korean coach to step in again (though I hate him, his style works)
You hurt my feelings
No, hahaha. I guess I'm still just basking in the KIXX Glory Days or something
-
only 1 more set.... ouch
I think they'd do slightly better than that with her here
They are rebuilding indeed, but never saw a team flop this hard for so long
This team can't even capitalize on opponents mistakes cause they're making more themselves
I feel bad for them but 3/7 are still veteran & past starting players for Korea (Jeongah, Yeum, Heejin)
Coach definitely seems to be an issue too, he's never been head coach before this
So do I , honestly. Seems like this situation is one for a youngster to step up rather than a vet
Why do you not include Kang Sohwi in the list of vets? She's borderline? She always seemed pretty fierce to me, not including now
-
Definitely not this dead
But yea you are right overall, it's not all lost, they just have to start from scratch, it wouldn't surprise me if other teams take their chance to show up though during this absence. Overall I'm not too hopeful, when your golden generation is mass retiring, you can't have a federation working against the team or K/O pretty much
if Olympic girl was here Korea would have 2 sets won
-
Really lacks leadership skills is what I feel
I don't think anyone wants to be 'responsible' in any way for what's going on, but it's also tough, unless you are a KYK caliber player, to shine when there's a fog all around you
I'm not really that bummed out about Korea. This kind of thing happens to teams from time to time ... definitely a whirlwind of things past year or two. They'll weather it and be back (think of how dead Japan was last year)
btw - I'm also disappointed in my girl Kang Bang. This was her opportunity to step up, too. She seems average
-
OMG okkkkk now I do remember! I loved her the past few times I saw her, she was on court today? (I only watched the last part of the match)
No I don't think she is in attendance. Someone mentioned she may be injured
-
I'm surprised no one remember/cares Jeong Ji-Yun. I just looked her up. she won MVP of the KOVO Cup after the OGs. She was on fire 2021
-
Has Kim Heejin had any good international match? 😂
yes
-
I recommend Lee Dahyeon #12
Still a young player and making mistakes, but has good potential and does well imo
Her and Sohwi makes this Korea team a bit more worth watching
She's caught my attention to. Seems involved. I like players who stay involved
