Was Diao better than Ding Xia? I don’t think so. Had China placed second or first in the past VNLs under LP, DX would be picked and the opponents were much stronger. This year VNL, great players did not participate full time or did not participate at all. Turkey got an upgrade through Vargas without her, Turkey would not have achieved this result. Turkey has two powerful tomboys and their physique are more on the man type.

Today they did not perform well. WYL could not repeat her performance in the semi. Turkey also kept watch on her - she got blocked a lot. Still my opinion about her is the same she can be a bench player. China needs another person for the starting line up.

Why was the awarding for the bronze happening before the match for the 1st and 2nd place? it would be nice to see the awarding of the medals after all the matches are done. What is the reason? It would be nice to see the winning teams (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) attending the ceremony together. I think Stysiak should be given OP award - statistically she is on top and she carried the team to winning the bronze.

I want China to win so that the MVP is awarded to LYY who is the most deserving of this award. Statistically She has the best / better numbers than all the players.

Statistically LYY should be the MVP of this tournament even if China takes the runner up. I hope China wins so that MVP is awarded to the rightful and deserving player in this tournament.

I am glad LYY would be getting at least one individual award OH. She certainly deserves to be awarded for her great performances.👏👏👏

Best outsides were LYY and ilkin so far who played constantly in almost every match. American OHs had ups and downs, also they didn't play every week. But if USA reaches to the final, Skinner could get one of the best OH awards. Even Ebrar has a shot as best OH

Best Opp would be either Vargas or Stysiak. Both Thompson and Drews are very unstable. Gong with all respect is not the true dominant Opp so I would be surprised if she gets the award although I think she is instrumental for china's success this year

Exactly why the statistics from all the matches should be considered. It is not fair if the MVP award goes to the player who participated only in the 4th leg (finals). if there is an award for the best all around player GXY gets that title.

I think MVP should be chosen from among the semi finals players. There are times the MVP the real deserving player is from the losing team. The statistics from all the matches should be taken into account not just the last game and from the champion team. The London Olympics KYK was the MVP even though Korea was not the Olympic champion.

GXY taking a photo with Thaisa just showed us the fans (ordinary people) they athletes and celebrities are no different. We all have some person or people who we admire and having a moment with he/she/they make your day special.

Talking about rude behavior that Ebrar is making should be penalized like in tennis matches. This way the rudeness can be controlled and such behavior cannot be tolerated because people watching her or rude athletes/ celebrities will think such behavior is ok and will follow her or such athletes/ celebrities. The cancel culture is favorable to enforce.

Read an article before about a very talented player in 🇨🇳🏐 who was rude and treated a woman who worked (cleaning person) in the facility of their training I.e. shouted at her or something, Lang Ping kicked her out from the NT squad. In 🇨🇳🏐 roster, the players should behave and get along or else he/ she will be excluded no matter how good one is. Here is another one, there was also a very tall 🇨🇳🏐girl who went to play for a 🇯🇵 team, she even changed her name to a Japanese name. She was not good and was bench a lot ( I am not sure), she wanted to go back to China, but China would not take her back. Don’t know she got naturalized or not.

Agree second to that. Cannot blame the player because of the financial reason. Allowing naturalized players to play for the NT should not be permitted in any sports at any tournaments where it’s nation vs another nation sports competitions. Countries like those in Middle East have naturalized players to play for them which we know money is the core reason. In basketball, there are many cases of naturalized players but those players are not the elite ones and these players are because of their height which height in this sports is a requirement to be competitive and these countries hardly have this kind of people who got the height.

Is there still prize money involved? VNL used to be popular before the COVID pandemic than now - lesser audience now both in the area and over the air (broadcast. VNL is the place where potential great players and great players get to show themselves to the world. So much better if there is money involved, who does not want money. For lesser known players, getting the money is a huge incentive to want to play in the tournament. Top players might not get fired up to play, they play for the national pride. The schedule is gruesome to players. Top players those earning lots of money and it is not really worth it to take parti since they might get injured for this tournament with less reward I.e. the prize money (1st place) the player might get $60,000 but got injured and have to be sideline from playing pro tournaments when he/she getting at least say half a million US dollars yearly.. This is probably the reason some top players (especially if one is from the 🇨🇳NT who have to play in every match though they don’t have a choice because the coach cares more of the rankings than the players well beings / health.) don’t want to play the VNL from the beginning to the end of the tournament.

What’s with DQQ being sent as the specialist server when the sets have been tight? So far from my observation on all past matches, China never won a point on her serve. Sent Zhong Hui was able to win points for China.

🤣 she has not been the one carrying the team and has the less impact on the wins. She is lucky to be in the roster and If ever China wins the championship luck is a major factor I would say.

Really? They grew up in Turkey since their childhood? Guess it is ok as long they have spent /lived majority of their lives like their childhood in that country till 16 years old and get naturalized then be eligible to play for NT.

Before the match against Brazil, my thoughts they can win if Brazil has a bad day and the win would be won in 5 sets. They could have won it in 3 sets. They did well today. Against Poland, they might have slight chance if Poland has a bad day. Poland has been playing very well perhaps if the occasion gets to them and luck is not on their side, they can win. Who knows? Lady Luck will be smiling at 🇨🇳. WYL was pretty much good today. Against Poland who are tall and strong she might get blocked a lot and spray points away☹️.
