Brazilian League 2010/2011

  • Thank you Yates! :flower:

I think in 2006-2007 Fofinha started the season with Macaè, but played second half with Hisamitsu Springs and not NEC Red Rockets. Probably I'm wrong.

You're welcome! About the japanese teams, I think you're right. I relied on memory, instead of checking, but actually I just remember she went to a japanese team in the middle of the season... I just wasn't sure which one.

  • And what about Gisele Florentino, Virna Dias, Marcelle Rodrigues, Denise Theodoro and Rosangela do Nascimento?

Does anyone know where did they play in their carrer?

PS: did Gisele Florentino and Marcelle Rodrigues ritire?

Rô is in Liu Jo Modena, in Italy, the rest all have retired.

Actually there is a very interesting photo of Virna in Rios Carnaval this weekend..cause in last month there was a metting in Brazil, that united ex players, went for a dinner Virna, Leila, Emanuel, Nalberth, Fernanda Venturini, and Ruiz and Mireya from Cuba! And Virna took the chance the cubans were here and took them to see Carnaval!!!hehehe ITs funny to see, since during matches time there was always a lot of fight inside court, as you all remember..hehehehe

Virna said the fights are onld time, they are friends now....and Mireya completed saying she is loving Carnaval. That she really enjoyed Unidos da tijuca (one of the schools participating the parade), but that is suporting Grande Rio (another scholl, the scholl where Virna comes out)

Maria nd Sheilla, playing the first time in Rio, also went to sambodromo to watch the parade! :) The libero Fabi was also there (but she is all years..hehehe)

    I watched your page

    Unilever 0-3 Volei Futuro ;(

"Lo sbaglio più grande e quello di credere di aver vinto prima ancora di giocare la partita"

  • It was the worse game ever!!!!

Really, I think I never saw Unilever or Rexona playing so bad, and I follow them for a long time, the team was completely apatic inside court, so many mistakes!!!!!!!!:S

Unilever played so bad that is even hard to give some credit to Volei Futuro! 35 mistakes in three sets!!!!!

I think Bernardinho made a mistake, he tried to use a system with Valeskinha passing in place of MAri, but that totaly took her out of the game, not telling that we lost her ball from the back line! And also unfortunetly it was nota good day for DAni, I think Bernardinho took much time to change her to put Roberta, that though its young is a good setter.

The team improved when was playing Roberta-Sheilla, Mari-Suelle, CArol Gattaz-Juciely, but it was to late. We had chances in second and third set were ahead 19-17, and 19-18, but then Fabiana went to service in VF side, it was definitive, the team simply stopped in both sets.

    REally, the worse game ever!!!

But Unilever dont have mush time to think about, have to play again tomorrow already! (I hate CBV calendar!!!!!)

  • Totally agree with joanamss! Dali Lins was using to much Sheilla and in the second send Mari was every time open for a hit... I don't know why Dani played like this :( Mari was moving really good :( Receiving wasn;t so bad, but block and attack was аwful. And Roberta played a much more diverse and clever. It was very sad to see desperate face of Sheila. I think Brnardinho also is to blame for this loss.

  • I think the whole Unilever team is to be blamed but I disagree the fact Joana said it wasn't a good game. I'm sure for a fanatic Unilever fan as Joana is a lost in straight sets is never good. But I thought the game was good, there were many amazing digs by Fabi and Sykora and Volei Futuro blocked quite well. Fabiana played a good game and I think most of Unilever mistakes were due to the fact Volei Futuro was blocking, digging and serving quite well therefore Unilever players were induced to many mistakes. If you think about it that's how Unilever play tending to make the opponents make mistakes.
You could clearly see Unilever players were trying to spike away from Volei Futuro block that's why they made many mistakes while spiking. So IMHO Volei Futuro is to be praised because they played a great game.

How can a game with 35 unforced erros just by one team can be consider good quality? Sorry, but maybe we just see volleyball in different ways or standards...

The fact that the team I support wins or not one game do not change my view over the hole quality of the game....even cause for me loosing is not a problem, its part of the sport, if someone dont understand that, then should not follow sport at all. :) It is just that in my head, a game with good quality is a game with ralis, big defenses, great attacks, long points, low rate of erros....and not a game where just one of the teams makes 35 unforced erros, and I should remember 35 erros in only 3 sets! I mean, Volei Futuro had to make 75 points, almost half of it Unilever gave easily..!!hehehehe ;)

Im not saying Volei Futuro is a bad team, or putting them down,of course not, but it is just a fact that yesterday, it was not a good game... :aww:

  • Well... once again I said for ME it was a good game to watch. You never questioned "quality". If you add the word "quality" as you just added then we can argue about that but a good game IMHO doesn't need to be "best quality". For instance Korea x Japan can make games with few errors and so what? We can say there's quality there but to me is not a good game to watch, being boring as hell. So as you said it's only a matter of what's best suitable for you and yesterday even though there were many mistakes I thought the game was far from being boring which to me makes a good game to watch.

I can agree with you about Unilever mistakes being too much for 3 sets but I saw all the other things you said there wasn't. There were rallies, great blocks, great spikes, great defenses for both teams and Sykora and Fabi were great. I will rephrase once again I believe most of Unilever errors were due to Volei Futuro serving, digging and blocking strong. So you can call it unforced but to my point of view Unilever players were doing mistakes because they were trying to spike away from block, serve hard, trying to win without thinking what was going on during the game. I praise Volei Futuro because I think they came out strong and forced Unilever players to make mistakes.

The fact I could see Mari spiking strong was a plus to me as well. It was the first game I saw from her since she came back from her injury. Maybe you watched other games before so it wasn't that much of a big deal for you. The other thing I enojyed a lot was the fact I could finally see Volei Futuro playing as a team and Joycinha spiking strong even though Fabi was there digging a lot.

So as you can see I could enjoy more things than you and IMHO that is due to the fact as a supporter of Unilever you were annoyed with the amount of mistakes they were doing. As I dislike both teams I could enjoy more thing than you. So I don't buy the whole "it doesn't matter if it's my team or not". Of course it does. If it didn't matter we wouldn't be volleyball fans. This is the fun of the game.

Don't be mad you know Unilever is still the favorite to win Superliga as Osasco is playing poorly and Volei Futuro is not a safe bet.

  • Well...I agree with you that a game with few mistakes, not necessary aplys that its a good game, but I think I never said that...;) I just think that a game with a lot of mistakes, like the ones that were yesterday, well for me that is never going to be a good game to watch no matter the teams. For me it was not a good game to watch as a volleyball fan, no matter if it is my team or not. Of course anoyed me to see Unilever playing like that as a supporter, that is for sure...but I just said I dont mind loosing a game, I think that is part of the sport, and the lost is not the reason why I think the game was not good. Could had been Osasco and Volei Futuro playing, if Osasco lost making so many mistakes like Unilever did yesterday I would still think it was not a good game, even if I was happy with the result. Another example, last year final...Unilever lsot to Osasco, but not for that I think the game was bad, on the contrary, it was a great game the final, that is what I meant. ;) For me it was a bad game, just that,. Fabi and Sykora, indeed had their moments, but that didnt turn the game good over all in my opinion.

You know....we just dont see volleyball with same eyes....at least this game....thats ok, it happens...peace :flower:
