Here in Brazil a sports channel called Bandsports will broadcast the semifinals and the final match of this tournament.
If I'm not mistaken the semifinals will be tomorrow and the final match on Tuesday, right?

In the second set Belarus led 20:10, after that Azerbaijan tied the score 21:21, and in the end won that set

I think Japan went mad that they lost secont set and it was close score in the third, so they showed everything they have in the fourth.

update: holland beat turkey 25-18, 25-18, 25-21
turkey's serve caused no trouble for holland's reception and very easily holland crushed turkei in the 1st set; turkey entered the 2nd set with more resistence and better defense, so did holland, again, holland took the set with the same score
again the problem for turkey is --- blockers couldnt block hollands attackers while nelishan is the only trust worthy attacker for points
china beat russia 3-0
this is really a tight match; russian outside hitters are simply unstoppable in the first 2 sets; with spike errors and some stuff blocks from china took the first two sets by 25-23, 25-20
in the last set, russia tried its very best to stay in the game but the amazing serve from xu yun li caused so much trouble for the russian team
and so russia lost the last set 16-25
at the other pool, japan crushed azerbaijan 3-0
amazing play by the japanese players; good defense gurantee their victory
in this game, mamadova had 46 attacks, with only 19 points while megumi got 18 points with 33 attacks ;
so japan won 25-23, 25-22, 28-26
I watched both matches on Guandong Sports.
I was very impressed with the performance of Olga Fateeva for Russia and also Svetlana Akulova played well. I think Russia would have deserved a to win a set. Unfortunately Tatiana Kosheleva played only a little and not very convincing.
For the other match I think both teams did great work in defense but also committed many unforced errors. I don't understand why Pelin Celik didn't return at all after she got subbed out in 2nd set. Elif's sets were all sooo predictable.
Matthias or colossus, can you tell me what happened to Godina? only 5 points, it's strange. Also, many people say that our libero plays awful, is that so? And how russian team looked overall?
Results of the fifth day:
Belarus - Russia-2 3:2 (25:16, 23:25, 25:27, 25:15, 15:9)

Godina just did not get through very well against China, she was better today but still made too many errors.
I don't think Kryuchkova plays bad, maybe she is not yet as good as last year but she still plays very well in defense. Reception could be a little better though...
China wins Yeltsin Cup by a hard-fought 3:1 victory over Netherlands, 37:35 in last set. Manon Flier injured her ankle in the beginning of 4th set and was replaced by Francien Huurman who seems to have fully recovered from cancer

cos godina is the best spiker in the team, so blockers give her more attention....you know, she is ---this is confirmed----197cm tall, and the blockers have to block her in order to win the game
plus she used float serve so, no much damage and so less score to her credit

recorder high score in yeltsin cup, 37-35, china took the last set cos holland contributed the last spiking error
holland really playes so well in this game, increasingly asian way of playing
i can say that holland's defense is better than japan
holland make less errors and with better serve reception in the 1st 3 sets, so the 4th set is extremely vital for both teams, tied up at 24, each team won a point and the other fought back, it kept going until netherland spiker put the ball over the block and tied up again at 35-35 and china scored one more; hollands setter trusted the spiker more and set the ball high and the wing spiker put it over the block but this time ----out! and china finally won the game 37-35

again, hollands good show confirmed my prediction that holland could be really great this year and even greater in 2008
what amazed me is their reserve players are very good too, which i didnt realise b4
i just hapen to know that holland will face brazil, italy, cuba and usa in GP
wow, thats really gotta be great
I am so happy to see that Yuko Sano is back on the japanese national team. It seems that she played great
