  • today turkey beat russia 3-2. turkey was without natali hanikoglu who is pregnant.gözde kirdar is playing in her position now and she showed great performance since natali has gone.today she was the best scorer of the match(22 points) with esra.now turkey has another scorer player.ı believe chiappini will bring luck to our team.

  • [quote="DEMIR17"]today turkey beat russia 3-2. [quote]

so far, russia is playing quite good consider the fact that only godina is in the team

with fateeva and safronva in the team, defense is much better and russia took japan 3-1, with many blocks

tonight, china again beat holland with 3-1; holland kept applying pressure on the chinese side and holland took the first set by 25-22

    china came back with 3 sets;

tomorrow, china vs azerbaijan; russia vs belusia

    1st july, china vs russia

I disagree, Fateeva and Safronova are not better in defense than Gamova and Sokolova, Gamova improved a lot in defense since Caprara came, you can see that in WCH matches and also Safronova plays bad in this tournament. She's in bad form or I don't know what's up with her.
Also, people say that our libero plays awfully as well :? .

1st, thx nick for the stats posted 8)

fateeva and safronova of cos no better than gamova and sokolova; but in the current roster, fateeva and safronova are actually the better choice, isnt it

just read an intervieew article about gamova, she has been having treatment for 2 weeks and might recover soon,

as for sokolova, i think fans can only see her in world cup cos caprara will not expose the secret powerful weapon b4 the big game 8)

Still, Russia will play in semi against China, I think the best our team can do is to win 1 set, no more.
I have no idea why we lost today. No comments  .

  • This result was really astonishing. Even without Gamova and Sokolova, the Russian team has much more traditon than Belarus in volleyball.

Anyway, what matters is that when the competition is for real, like the World Championship or the Olympic Games, the Russian Team plays a high-level volleyball, so despite the unexpected result, we all know what the Russian team is capable of.

hi demir17, as usual, heslihan is the scoring machine for the team, in te beginning, turkey beat russia 3-2 and just won japan 3-1; judging from the results, turkey and holland are two strong teams out of the three, the other being china----but the thing is that the japanese is also training up new players but turkey still use veterans; at least turkey does not have to rely too much on neslihan

as for russia, one godina can not save the russian team---of cos, caprara is just testing her reception skills in yeltsin since sokolova is not in the team.
so, fateeva and safronova are also doing reception with godina

i think at the moment, russia really has problem with post-2008 volleyball games lol; with godina in the team, russia can lose to belarussia; imagine what if gamova, sokolova and godina all retired after OG????? thats too scary

ps: i want to know the height of godina and sokolova; the fivb info said godina is only 193, but that is very unlikely cos she look taller that ruirui zhao; i guess godina is somewhere between 197-198cm? anyone can confirm this

sokolova is said to be 193cm, but she look a lot more taller than 191cm artamonova??? when arta stood near soko, soko is 4cm taller? any confirmation?

    I think Gosha is 196-197cm, Sokolova is 194cm, Gamova 202-203cm, Merkulova 202cm, Artamonova 190-191cm
