Hopefully Pena will bring more to the table when she starts to play with them.

  • 1st set - game by fe garay; made 6 points in crucial with ohtstanding spike percentage...
2nd set - mayany souza middle blocker from minas prevailed in her blocking defenseand strong spike...

3rd - third set great game by amanda.
I would say that rosa maria’s paasing has gone wild from bad to worse.... though her spike is still very commwndable...

  • Any links for Osasco v Minas?

Facebook of CBV. I'm not sure. I'm also looking.

They said the game will be transmitted on RedeTV but there's nothing. Is the game over?

  • Minas won after losing the first two sets and they were losing the 3rd set by 17x14.
Hooker played nicely but she is still far from her shape.

MVP of the match was Rosamaria once again (it was a popular vote, I don't think she deserved it).

  • biggest opposite at of this time : edinara
    Biggest surprise : paula borgo
Too bad she is on a wrong team: lorenne
(Should she be in dentil praia, then the three will battle for the second opposite of the nt)
But as of now, its clear, edinara is the sexond opposite for nt..

Notice: it would be a different story if tandara plays as an opposite in the club, she i think plays for the position as a means to strengthen her receiving...

  • i think im in the contention that fe garay is still in the running towards being one of the starters of the brazilian nt for 2018-2019 (having the world championship as the only title missing on her bag)

Great defense still, intelleigent attacker. Knows how to drop a ball and to swing it hard when it matters! This is what i love of a player! Even at 1.80, she isnt afraid to jump it up high and kill the ball. I just wish she and her husband has no plans of having a baby soon or else we still have a problem of looking for an efficient replacement....

Thaisanha oh gosh if only you are 1.83 at least you are my no. 1 brazilian spiker, your serve is tremendous (jump serve but not that strong as compared to boskovic)

Drussyla - i think she mellowed down in this season playing as starter for sesc rio. I still want to see the hunger but i like her calmness now. It is in this stage where you cant predict how good or bad a player have become.. btw, i dont agree she is neymar of volleyball. It is tandara!!

Rosamaria - many issues or gossips thrown at her. Just being popular by being beautiful.. bla bla bla when she wins, there is no credit kn her however when her team loses she is always the one to blame..

I just want more playing time for her along with other strong teams so i could assess if she or drussyla is goof for nt! But i think she has advantage with drussyla in block and serve area. Spike is draw from the two...

  • 1st choice is bia! I dont know but bia is just wow! A warrior! Glad to hear that ze roberto granted my wish she used her against italy after bra lost to china in grand prix...
Come second is adenizia - with ade having a good club season last yr and today, playing with big opponents at only 1.85 m plus her infectious smile. I believe she is still needed and a good weapon to fire up brazil’s network. Remembered her game during usa vs brazil in brazil, she scored 18 points with 9/10 in attacks...
come third is thaissa - with a lot of experience in her bag, she is still the best middle blocker after a long reign of fabiana from 2005 - 2014!!! I guess 2005 to 2008 was of walewska! Her height reach speed and delivery in killing the ball is still outstanding
Cone fourth carol - an excellent player! Only 1.83 can block opposites from italy and serbia and even zhu ting!

Biggest revelation- mayany souza of minas. Good read of player good height reach. I still want to see a black mb in brazil.

Wishful thinking - milka the mb from pinheiros is having a good season as a starter in e.c pinheiros. Had nestle not contacted ninkovic, she is good for nestle. Lets just see if ze will call her in the nt! I bet she has affinity with the 2015 u23 mb who is now in barueri! But milka is good. Lets just see

  • I agree with most of what you wrote, but I disagree that Paula is the biggest surprise. She's been around there for a few years now, we already knew her potential and she has actually been choking in important matches lately. Rosamaria is a great player, with many issues to be fixed and I do agree that everyone blames her when her team loses. She is a fighter and never gives up. She did an amazing job in the last three sets against Osasco a few days ago. The same with Drussyla. Plus Drussyla has a great technique, which obviously comes from her beach days. I think OHs should be Natália, Fe Garay, Rosamaria and Drussyla. As much as I like Gabi, I prefere the others. Thaisinha won't play in the NT and she is 1.73 not 1.83. Her best years have gone by already. Also, Edinara can play as OH and she will probably play in this position once Skowronska starts playing (probably in the end of the year). MBs will be Bia, Adenizia, Thaisa and Jucy. Jucy is our best slide attacker, we need that, because Thaisa's slide attack for example is a joke.

  • There is always a room for five outside hitters in Brazil. When was the last time Brazil actually played with a reserve opposite in a major competition? Gabi still would have a chance. I am more concerned with Drussyla. Brazil flopped big time in the u23 world championship this year. And she seemed to be much better playing in a club than playing in the national team. I am begging for more but I guess if Rexona doesn't win again.... it could be use against her.

I am hoping the fame doesn't get to Rosamaria's head which actually makes me feel at ease that she have haters keeping her grounded and sane. She still has ways to go... the reception can be more polished but the potential can be seen.A lot of the hate is probably coming with the way her popularity just shot up to the sky. Her instagram just became one of the most followed users after playing inconsistently in the world grand prix. It's probably down to the fact that she looks like she could be the twin sister of Margaery Tyrell with the fierceness of a Queen and not just being an average white girl with decent ability as a player.

In the 90s this used to happen a lot in Brazil. The media liked to call some of the volleyball players as "muses". I was afraid that this was coming back with Rosamaria's success, but it doesn't seem to be the case. I think she can use some marketing in her benefit but it looks like she is really worried about volleyball and about becoming a better player.

  • Watching the games I think Rosamaria's problem is that she becomes too emotional in the games and she feels the pressure when playing against strong teams. It happened in the Grand Prix, it happened last season in the league and so far this season it has been happening. Once she becomes marked by opposing teams she dissappears.

Now with Paula, I think she's very inconsistent. I also think Lorrene is being wasted in Osasco. She should have gone to a smaller team wherein she could play. What has been happening to Osasco recently? It's like the team has only one game plan which is to set to Tandara. Btw, do any of you know what happened between Mari Paraiba and Fabiola? I saw a video of them fighting after a match.

The strongest OH's of Brazil are Natalia, Garay, Rosamaria and Drussyla. The problem with that though is it will be a disaster in reception. I think Jacque or Gabi will always have a big chance of being called mainly because of their reception and defense. Remember Brazil doesn't have Fabi or Brait as liberos anymore so they can't play with just power hitters especially since in my opinion Brazil doesn't have great liberos anymore. Gabi Souza is a question mark for next year because of her injury.
