Thanks for the info about the positioning in K-league , @loneracer
Display MoreIf you look at the image from my previous post showing the draft result, The image show Jeong Ji-Yun with position (R, C, L) and Sim Mi-Og with position (L, C). You may have already noticed that Korean refer OH as Left (L), OP as Right (R), and MB as Center (C). Despite being classed as MB, the first two players Hyundai picked in the draft, can also play on the wings too. I haven't watch them play in high school volleyball but from what I remember of them during AVC junior tournament they play as OH/OP. So don't worry too much about position too much, I have seen players chance position often in the Korean league. With the retirement of HYM, thats why I think Hyundai using Kim Ju-Hyang as OH toward the end of last year.
I'm sure if GS Caltex didn't pick OH Park Hye-Min in Round 1, my guess is Hyundai would have definitely have selected her. Hye-Min was label as the best receiver out of all the rookie. Also during Round 2, if I was Hyundai and OP Lee Ye-Sol (drafted by KGC in Round 2, 2nd pick) was still available, then I might have chosen her. Ye-Sol kind of remind me of Hwang Youn-Joo, in her final year in high school she start receiving. The only other noticeable OH was KO Ui-Jeong (drafted by KGC in Round 2, 5th pick).
Yeah Park Jeong-Ah was the top scorer but Yoo Seo-Yeun also play well too. Seo-Yeun had less of the ball but had slightly better success rate, plus she also got 3 service aces.
From the new article regarding Ivana leaving, it also look like Hyundai are also trying to find a player to replace Becky too.
I saw the article about Ivana before the yesterday match too but I wasn't sure if it was correct at the time as there was only that one article. I thought Hi-pass would have given her at least up to the end of Round 2 to get her form back, after all she help bring them their first championship.
Both Heungkuk new recruits OH Kim Mi-Youn and Kim Se-Young have been disappointing. Both are struggling in attack with poor success rate plus Mi-youn is kind of shaky in reception too.
Thanks for the info...
Changing from MB to OH/OP seems as not "easy" as from OH/OP to MB, (i.e: Han Song Yi KGC and Bae Yoo Na Hi-pass)... I hope the rookie can improve...
If Elizabeth still play, maybe they can try to reach out to her... It's very important on who the foreigner will be for Hillstate,...
News Update:
- Korea Expressway Corp. Hi-pass have announced that Senegalese OP Fatou Diouck will replaced Ivana Nesovic as their foreign player. In the previous V-League season, Diouck was playing for GS Caltex where she was 3rd highest point score with 811 points with the 2nd best success rate of 43.20% and was awarded Round 6 MVP. Diouck was currently playing in Thailand for Supreme Chonburi but she will join up with Hi-pass once all relevant paperwork have been completed. Source: 1, 2, 3
If Diouck doesn't suffer like Ivana (low performance), Hi-Pass has a chance to be champion again...especially if Park JA can keep her performance...
Kixx v Pink Spiders:
Lee Jae Young is improve on her attack/scoring but suffer her receiving...
Aliona has improve for Kixx, for she got 80+ swings.. I think it's the first time she got lot more swings then Lee So Young ...
