Aachen barely won 3:2 against Erfurt
I don't get what is wrong with Aachen this season. I have not watched many of their games, but they seemed to be a good team on paper, yet somehow they cannot make it work on court. They are error prone and communication on court is missing sometimes, but I still don't really get why that is the case.

MVP: Madeline Palmer / Jana Franziska Poll
IMO Aachen doesn't deserve playoffs if they have so much trouble even against Erfurt As Reiki said it's hard to understand why they have so much trouble despite their good roster, but IMO the roster isn't well balanced. They have 3 very good MBs but only one good OH, a weak libero compared to other players in the league, and also Kicka isn't nearly as good as in her Dresden years.

I agree! Next to that I think Hindriksen is way past her prime and her back-up Sorbo isn't good enough to play for any team in Germany...

Aachen, Wiesbaden, Münster. All three Teams should didn't play Playoffs this Season. But one muss play. Aachen has Münster and Wiesbaden at home.

Yes, the top six and Straubing were the only teams, that could justify playing the play-offs so far.

Tomorrow 14:15 CET the big Cup final Schwerin vs Potsdam will be played
It will be on Sport1, the official stream requires German IP but I'm sure other streams will show up on the usual sites. I hope for an exciting match, the last encounters of those teams always lasted 5 sets. I'm curious who will start as setter for Potsdam, Nogueras isn't eligible for the Cup final and neither Ana Tiemi nor Flory got any real court time since Nogueras joined the team. For me Schwerin is slightly favourite but I think anything is possible.
-
Ana Tiemi will start for Potsdam. I hope she can repeat her performance from semifinal which IMO was her best match for Potsdam so we get a good match
-
-
Weak start for Potsdam, but they finally woke up at the end of the first set They saved like 5 set point or so
-
I hope Flory will continue playing now...
-
Potsdam looks better with Flory, but unless something drastically changes it's going to be a surprisingly easy 3:0 for Schwerin.

Barfield for MVP
Still an extremely disappointing finale so far from Potsdam -
Potsdam is playing completely without serve and mostly without attack as well
-
Barfield after 2 sets 9/10 in attack and 2 blocks OTOH Schölzel barely gets any sets but it seems to be part of the tactics, and when you win 25:19, 25:13 you're not doing wrong...
-
Schwerin has been superior in all elements and totally deserved the win. Potsdam only ever arrived in the game in the third set, but even that was not nearly enough to challenge Schwerin.
I know Potsdam can play way better than what they showed today, but this was one of the most disappointing cup finale I have ever seen -
Schwerin - Potsdam 3:0 (19, 13, 18)

MVP: Lauren Barfield
Great match by Schwerin, as usual excellently prepared by Koslowski Potsdam's setters were nightmarish, Flory tried her best but she isn't a player for a Cup final, and you can't win titles without a setter.
So, congrats to Schwerin for Cup winner 2021
-
Yes, I am always amazed at how well Koslowski manages to prepare his team for important matches
-
Lauren Barfield as MVP and top scorer
Schwerins display of power today makes me really exited for their games against Dresden and Stuttgart. The last time they played against those two Schwerin was out of shape but now they are definitely back -
I'm very happy for Barfield, in like 90% of Schwerin's matches she is a silent force who doesn't score much but gets the job done well, but today she was absolutely amazing
