Vilsbiburg - Stuttgart 0:3 (23, 13, 26)

MVP: Kirsten Knip / Simone Lee
As expected, Stuttgart is the first finalist and could even rest some players for parts of the match. Vilsbiburg put up a good fight but simply doesn't have the quality to seriously threaten Stuttgart. It's a mystery to me why Völker started with Flory as setter, her sets are so inconsistent and inaccurate IMO with Rivera they might have won 1st set, but it wouldn't really have changed anything.
Unless the rules have changed for this season, Stuttgart will face the worst ranked team from regular season in the semifinal, i.e. if Suhl beats Potsdam, they'll have to face Stuttgart in the semifinal (unless Münster can achieve a sensation against Schwerin, which I consider impossible).
"Die Platzziffern für das Halbfinale und Finale ergeben sich aus den Platzierungen nach der Hauptrunde. (d.h. gewinnt z.B. Platz 8 gegen Platz 1 im Viertelfinale, wird für die Halbfinals die Platzziffer 4 zugewiesen)"

So indeed, if Suhl reaches the semis they will be no.4 (unless Münster qualifies as well) and play against no.1 Stuttgart
TV match today 17:00 CET Dresden vs Wiesbaden stream (hopefully better quality this time...)
Other QF matches are also played today, so by tonight we might know the semifinalists. Potsdam and Wiesbaden surely will want to do anything possible to force a 3rd match, Münster probably simply doesn't want to be slaughtered again as badly as in their 1st match
Linda Bock is missing due to injury/illness today. That surely increases Wiesbaden's chances...
Dresden somehow forgot how to block in the last week....
Dresden somehow forgot how to block in the last week....
And Grabovska un-learned to set again
Wiesbaden is very good so far though, Großer forgot to show up in attack but Große Scharmann playing the match of her life plus the middles being very good makes up for that.
So Wiesbaden forces a 3rd match with an excellent performance today. Gajewska has been great, giving all players the balls they need and making very good choices. I think she's a very underrated player...
Schwerin is missing Yüzgenc today, but they should be fine also with Neuhaus/Dambrink. For Potsdam, Savelkoel is back in starting six.
Savelkoel just injured her knee and it seems very serious Looked like she twisted it badly in a defense move and she stayed on the floor in a lot of pain.

Nooo
It really looked horrible..

😥
Potsdam takes set 1 25:9 with an amazing performance But they can't be happy about it after Savelkoel's injury I think Jasper also must have some problem because Leweling came in, not Jasper...
Can we follow the match anywhere?
Can we follow the match anywhere?
Only in the paid stream unfortunately.
Ewert needs to force the middles whenever possible, Suhl's pins are nowhere to be found except when the task is "hitting straight into a single block"
And now Suhl is awake and Potsdam back to sleep like in the first match Ewert started to distribute better and Bamba is absolutely amazing
Linda Bock suffered a torn muscle fibre. So she won't be back on Wednesday. Unless Dreblow or Lohmann will improve their reception over night, that's a huge advantage for Wiesbaden on Wednesday.
