Vilsbiburg can still overtake Münster (lost in Potsdam) when winning in tie-break.
Germany - VBL 1. Bundesliga 2022/23
-
-
Anyway, the pressure for both teams Vilsbiburg vs. Suhl in fourth set is now at maximum. This might me decided in the heads.
-
Despite Suhl has not yet won, they have now a clear edge against the hosts in Vilsbiburg: leading by six points, needing five to win.
-
Vilsbiburg fights back, not far away to level the set...
-
Suhl again with clear edge: two needed, four ahead.
-
Wiesbaden now 6 ahead, four to go.
-
Suhl is in the playoffs, winning in four in Vilsbiburg.
-
So Suhl leapfrogs Münster for 6th, Aachen needs to win the match to stay in it...
-
Looks like Wiesbaden overtakes Dresden and Aachen out...
-
So I think the final order is:
Stuttgart
Schwerin
Potsdam
Wiesbaden
Dresden
Suhl
Münster
Vilsbiburg
Aachen
Erfurt
Neuwied
-
Confirmed: Wiesbaden takes the match in Aachen in four sets, overtakes Dresden (4. and 5.) and Aachen is out of season.
-
Yes, that is the order.
-
That has been the most exciting finish of regular season for ages Suhl after so many problems eventually even reaches 6th place, and Aachen who looked safe all the time all of a sudden are out
-

Alex Waibl told the press that Grabovska felt sick during the match and even almost had to throw up That might explain her performance in some phases, and there was no option to sub her out.
Speaking of setters, I hear that Potsdam signs Spanish talent Raquel Lazaro as new setter for next season. From what I've seen of her I can imagine that she'll have a similar development like Van Aalen in the last two years.
-
Straube is still wearing a heavy knee brace even only sitting on bench, so it's hard to imagine she'll be able to play normally in the next two weeks. Grabovska has some good moments but overall her game is too insecure, so it's a problem for Dresden...
Unfortunately Straube won't come back this season. The healing of her knee injury is not going as fast as they hoped it would...
