It's awful, because Yordanov, Gaidarski, Konstantinov and Zhekov are playing there.

But why Greek League is stopped? and on how long?
Nobody knows ho long it will be. But the reason is that The Ministry of sport had promised some funding for the league, 50 000 euro i think but I'm not sure, and now this money is not received. The volleball federation had decide to stop the Hellenic Volleyball League for unknown period.
-
It's not quite so, and the games have certainly not been stopped yet (today for example played EAP-PAOK, a game that should have been held long ago but was postponed due to PAOK's participation to the Challenge Cup, EAP won 3-1 by the way). However the "League", as we call the association of A1 clubs, has indeed decided to ..suspend the games from February the 10th on, if till that date they have not received the money they claim. It's more like a measure of putting pressure on the Ministry.

I don't know what is happening with Olympiakos, they continue to lose matches. Patron and Iraklis are doing well with Zhekov and Konstantinov.

Today we had the first round for the Greek Cup (it was supposed to take place last week, but due to the death of the archbishop of Greece all games have been postponed, and this delay of the Cup games led to a postponing of the All Star Game as well, which was supposed to be held this Saturday).
This season the system has changed, all 12 teams of A1 compete for the Cup, but the first 4 ranked teams (Panathinaikos, Iraklis, Olympiakos, Aris) avoid the first round, while the teams ranked 5-12, after a drawing, faced each other in single "knock-out" matches today. I went to watch Kifisia-EAP, EAP won 3-1. The rest of the matches were Ethnikos Alexandroupolis-Lamia 3-2, Panellinios-PAOK 3-2 and AEK- Milonas 2-3
So the 8 teams which will compete on Sunday for the second round are:
Iraklis, Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, Aris, Patra, Ethnikos Alexandroupolis, Milonas, Panellinios. The drawing will be held tomorrow at 11.00. The winners will play in the Cup Final Four (29/2-1/3 in Orestiada). The Cupwinner secures a place in next season's CL (the other spot is for the champion, next season we 'll have 2 teams in CL, not 3). -
The drawing for the second phase of 8
Ethnikos Alexandroupolis - Panathinaikos 9.2.2008 19:00
Olympiakos-Iraklis 9.2.2008 19:30
Milonas-Aris 9.2.2008 18:00
Panellinios-EAP 10.2.2008 20:30 -
We already know the 3 of the 4 teams which will enter the F4.
Iraklis beat Olympiakos on tie break (Olympiakos was leading 13-10, but Iraklis managed to score 5 consecutive points and hence win the set and the match), PAO easily beat Alexandroupoli and the surprise of the day, Milonas (a team that struggles not to fall into A2) beat the 4th ranked team of Aris 3-1. So, Iraklis, Panathinaikos and Milonas, and tonight we 'll know if Patra will join them. -
Patra beat Panellinios 3-1 in a thrilling 4th set that ended 36-34 (although Patra was leading 23-18 ), thus is the 4th team to play in the Greek Cup Final Four.

seems that Greek teams are specialists in it heheh
